Daily Angel Oracle Card, from the Crystal Wind Oracle Card Deck, by Antonio DeLiberato: Bodhisattva ~ Compassion
Bodhisattva ~ Compassion: “The goddess of mercy prays for the happiness of all living beings.”
Card Meaning: “You are on your way to becoming a Bodhisattva! You cherish the potential in others. You have the courage to care and to help others on their path to happiness. Temper altruism with common sense so you are not taken advantage of. Someone may intercede on your behalf. When dealing with others, develop your natural, empathetic abilities.
Card Interpretation: “The Bodhisattva is not a god or deity but a way of being you can aspire to. It is a statement of willingness to give up one’s own well-being, even one’s own enlightenment, for the sake of others. This is a matter of opening your heart and that can be as simple as opening your eyes. When you open your eyes to the truth that people are in pain, at a very basic level you feel a natural response. This response is called compassion. It is called love. You want to help. Compassion and love have no limit, especially if you practice stepping beyond yourself. Start practicing and perfecting the qualities of generosity, discipline, patience and meditation so that you can help others.”*
Compassion must start from within; taking a step back from the dramas of the past and having compassion when recognizing old patterns and past mistakes. See these issues with compassion for yourself as you were learning and it will be easier to forgive yourself and let them go. You must extend the same loving intentions towards yourself before you can send that same love, compassion and forgiveness out to others. Spend some time in meditation, or journaling; letting your subconscious bring up old hurts, seeing them with new eyes. Embrace them and let them go, seeing all involved with a new wisdom.
Compassion allows people to be who they are, and live it the lives that they have created without judgement or pity; it simply means that you are willing to lend a loving hand to lift them up if that is what they are willing to receive. You can send your love and compassion to them without having to disturb their process and still make a difference. You can pray for them, without trying to control the outcome of their lesson.
In practicing compassion, you need not become a victim, you don’t need to compromise yourself, you are there to help people to raise their vibration and heal themselves; without necessarily intervening. Sound familiar? Yes, you are like an angel, guide or guardian angel. You are helping keep the Divine Connection strong for the people who need it; you are an advocate for children and animals who don’t have a voice, and you are a vessel of love. You are willing to give up control in order to send love and ask for Divine help in the name of those who need it most; and especially for our beautiful planet who needs as much love, healing and compassion as we can possibly send her.
