Daily Angel Oracle Card, from the Angels, Gods And Goddesses Oracle Card deck, by Toni Carmine Salerno: Angel Of Communication
Angel Of Communication: “Communicate clearly; don’t be afraid to say it like it is.”
“One of your major lessons in this lifetime is to learn to communicate what you want clearly. You assume that those around you know what you want or how you feel. Yet the truth is that they do not. because of your failure to communicate honestly and clearly, those around you often end up confused or, at best, having to guess what it is you want, feel or expect. Do not be afraid to say it like it is. You cannot lose anything by simply stating your truth. You do not need to blame or accuse others in order to speak your truth, just state your case clearly.
Underlying this whole issue is a fear of being accepted or not gaining the approval of others, and therefore you are often afraid to speak up. now that it is an act of love unto yourself and others to communicate clearly, lovingly and honestly. The Angel Of Communication is here to help you work through this issue. Through this process you will honour and empower yourself and gain much respect and love from others.”*

Much of the drama in our lives comes from miscommunication, or no communication. Communication is often the first thing to go in relationships or marriages. Communication, person to person, face to face, without technology (although yes, technology has it’s place and of course our communication capabilities have never been more far reaching than they are in this day and age) is vital. When we are texting, emailing, facebooking or even talking on the phone, which now seems really personal compared to typing, there are so many nuances that can be missed! Face to face, you get to see what the persons eyes are saying to you; you get the vibration of their energy, you get to reach out and touch them if need be, or even offer a hug. There is really no replacing the intimacy of in person, eye to eye communication and in this era, it is an art form.
It is so easy to send a text, press send on an email or post a comment to facebook, yet the possibility that the tone of the words that have been typed will be missed or misinterpreted is extremely likely, especially if there is any tension there to begin with. You owe it to yourself to speak out in person, sticking to your truth and standing your ground. Clear, concise communication with feeling, just like in the old days!
Teach this to your kids before they all turn into zombies, unable to look someone in the eye and having to rely on screens to talk for them; it’s a scary thought! They need to know the importance of eye contact, body language and a well placed hand on a shoulder. They need to know how to capture someone with their eyes; turn just the corners of their mouth up in a saucy smirk, or throw daggers when necessary!
Don’t lose the ability to stand up for yourself; you are important and how you feel and want to be treated is important. Make sure you set your boundaries and stick with them. Keep up your people skills; and when it comes down to the crunch, always take the time to communicate in person, with as few distractions as possible (outside if you can!!). You are worth it.
