Daily Angel Oracle Card: Compassion, from the Numerology Guidance Oracle Card deck, by Michelle Buchanan
Compassion: “This card indicates a need to be kind and compassionate toward others, especially those who extend beyond your family and circle of friends. Whether it is the ill tempered clerk at the supermarket checkout or the homeless person on the street, you are being urged to look beyond your judgments to see what lies beneath. There is a lot of truth ot the saying “Do not judge a man until you have walked a mile in his shoes,” for how could you possibly know the story behind another’s life?
By drawing this card, you are being encouraged to open your heart and mind to see others through the eyes of love. Every time you feel someone else’s pain as if it were your own, you raise your personal vibration and the vibration of the world. When you show kindness toward a stranger, you are living as your higher self. When you are understanding and loving, you align yourself with the Divine.
In order to improve your current situation, you are being asked to adjust to, and harmonize with, the natural rhythm and cycles of your life – cycles that are encouraging you to show compassion toward others. As you broaden your understanding of other cultures, personalities, and points of view, you increase the potential avenues to makign your dreams come true. Observation without judgment is the key to your success.
I am compassionate toward others and attract the same in return.”*

The holidays right around the corner; the United States celebrating Thanksgiving and many parts of the world celebrating Christmas. Ironically, to many of us, this means we are facing one of the most stressful times of year! Black Friday is notorious for people getting injured and trampled in crazy mall “door crasher” sales; parking spots get stolen; toys fought over by overwhelmed mothers and money seems to be demanded in every direction. Why do we do this to ourselves??
Having compassion with each other is what the holidays are supposed to be about, not STUFF! Thanksgiving is about gratitude and appreciation of all the wonderful people and love we are surrounded by every day, not a victory in the 50 yard dash into the mall to grab a television for 99 cents! Things get so out of whack, and it is up to us to put a stop to the madness!!
I’m trying to put a huge emphasis on my kids making their presents for family and teachers, which is pretty easy as I’m usually making something so there is lots of crafty stuff around the house (think craft tornedo lol!). We talk about the time and effort that goes into creating something special and one of a kind with the person in mind; made with love and intention. I also try to make them aware of how important the Christmas concert is; really is there anything that gets us in the spirit more than real, live Christmas carols? Not tinny repetitive Christmas music in the stores in early November, but the real deal; particularly kids!
This year, try to have compassion for those around you; remembering that kindness is contagious! Give away your parking spot, let the lady with the screaming toddler go ahead of you in line, or the old lady who you know is going to spend 20 min counting her nickles. Smile (also contagious!). Breathe. Open doors for people who are carrying too much. Give everyone you love a hug every single time you see them. Go see some kids sing. Make cookies or decorations with an elementary kid if you have one in your life; let their enthusiasm wash over you. Volunteer or donate.
Give yourself, and those around you, a break. It’s just the holidays, strive for joy, not perfection.
