Well, I can’t help but smile that this came up. I definitely feel that it’s time to get back to my daily exercise routine, and I will of course be more mindful of what it is that I am putting into my body… what is is about December that seems to be a “get outta jail free card” for diet and exercies?? Especially when it tends to be such a stressful and potentially overwhelming time of year, one that we could benefit the most from being as healthful as possible? Well, I know not everyone changes their routine at this time of year, I have many friends and family members (you know who you are and I love you guys, six packs and all!!) who manage to get to the gym right up to December 24th and back at it on Boxing day… in fact I can safely say I have relatives who go for runs on Christmas day… and New Years day; holidays simply don’t stop them. Alas, I cannot say the same but hey, I have never professed perfection, merely a desire to improve myself daily, one step at a time.
So, this is it, January. Brand new month, brand new year. Fresh start, new beginnings and infinite possibilities. And, this is the time that we all decide, like it or not, to get back into shape, take better care of our bodies and get back to feeling the best we can. Something very interesting that I have just come across, is a new program by Colette Baron-Reid called Weight Release Energetix Lite… the interesting thing about this program, is that it is based around being empathetic and sensitive, which I definitely am. See, as much as I do like to indulge a little over the holidays, I actually think it’s the stress that does my body in. Less sleep, more social responsibility, more money spend, racing around trying to find the perfect gifts and finally, this year, dealing with sick kids while working from home for two weeks!! When I watched the video intro to this course, I felt like she was talking to ME!!! I feel like I have this extra layer of padding to protect myself from the drama and chaos of life and the people around me. I totally get it!
So, here I am, declaring to each and every one of you that I plan, starting TODAY to give this plan a shot and see if I can change my body by managing my stress levels, loving myself and my body, and becoming (even more!) mindful of what I put into my body. It goes perfectly with everything else I am working to incorporate energetically into my… Our… Lives. Add back an exercise routine, cut out the little extra sugar and odd glass of wine, get outside more… and presto, I will be a brand new me! Regardless of how you go about it, I invite you to make a few healthful changes starting…well, why not today? Try cutting something out of your diet that always makes you feel guilty when you indulge… guilt puts weight on faster than cheescake! It also contributes to lowering your immune system with all the added stress! Then, gently add some outdoor time; some yoga; mediation; and of course, the fresh veggies and water. Have fun with it, watch your energy levels increase and listen to your body sing. Most importantly, every single day, send love; to your very own beautiful self, every wonderful, unique and gorgeous aspect. Love it all.
Body, mind and spirit. We are all connected and when we take care of ourselves, we help to take care of each other. When we love ourselves, and the Divine within us, we can love each other. Unconditionally.
