Daily Angel Oracle Card: Detach, from the Psychic Tarot For The Heart Oracle Card deck, by John Holland
Detach ~ Key Words: “Reflect, accept, decide, clarity, responsibility, fairness.”
“Sometimes our ego prevents us from seeing events clearly. It is time to detach emotionally from a relationship or situation so that you can step back and reevaluate. Reflect upon how the relationship is working. Is it satisfying? What role do you play in its harmony or disharmony? An honest appraisal is required in order to gain clarity and help you better understand what might need to be done to improve it. This is true even if the relationship is already a good one.
It is important to accept that your previous actions, decisions and beliefs have led you to your current situation, whether it is pleasant or difficult. We do steer the course of our lives, although often without conscious intent. By assessing your situation and accepting responsibility for it, you are able to free yourself from the need to blame another person or Destiny. There is no guilt associated with this card – only clarity and empowerment.
Once you have detached yourself from and examined a relationship, lack of relationship, or other matter of the heart, you are in a better position to decide what your next step might be. Remember that the Detach card knows no ego. Decisions arrived at as a result of drawing this car must be fair and balanced for everyone involved.
Affirmation:
I accept the role I play in creating my
relationships and my life.”*
– John Holland
We often have expectations of how a relationship should go; although these expectations can be positive or negative depending on our previous experience and childhood imprinting. We may expect that to be in a relationship we must be kind to each other, or we might expect that in order to keep the passion alive there must be a lot of shouting and arguing. We may have built in trust issues, having trouble feeling safe within a relationship, and thus keep parts of ourselves or our lives secret and locked up within us. Or we may feel that we should depend on the other person for happiness. Once we can pinpoint what our own expectations are of the other person, we must figure out what our perceived role is. When we get these two major pieces of the puzzle, we begin to get some clarity.
When we are not happy in a relationship, yet we are unable to make changes, we must ask ourselves why this is. What are our expectations of this other person, and are they even aware of what we are projecting onto them? Often the things that drive us mad about someone else it what we are being urged to acknowledge and work with in ourselves. As much as it is nice to play victim and give away all of our power to someone else, eventually we must take the reins of our own lives… or at least responsibility for decisions made which got us to where we currently stand.
If things are not looking how you wish them to look, where can you start to change them? Communication is key. Being authentic to your true Soul self is the only way to step into your power and start to create your desires. Keeping your intentions for the highest good of all involved, you can begin to create what you really need in your life. In order to do this, you are being asked to detach from the everyday drama and see things from a higher, broader perspective. Sometimes we don’t like what we see but it’s time to be honest. Sometimes even admitting to yourself that changes must take place is enough to start the process.
The seed is planted. Time to cultivate a plan of action.
Time to heal.
