Daily Angel Oracle Card: Hawthorn, from the Angel Dreams Oracle Card deck, by Doreen Virtue, Ph.D and Melissa Virtue
Hawthorn: “Balance ~ Elemental Kingdom”
“This card is asking you to open to the magic surrounding you by taking time to feel gratitude. Hawthorn is an ancient tree, sacred to the elemental kingdom. Also known as a fairy tree or tree of protection, it is an ally for healing. Acknowledge the blessings in your life. Begin to cultivate a relationship with the fairies (sometimes called the good folk, fae, or Sidhe). Invoke their blessings in ritual and energy work. Open up your healing abilities. Respect these abilities and use them to help others.
Hawthorn calls for the balancing of your male and female energies. You need to integrate and harmonize these two qualities within yourself. Seek out the side that has been non-dominant, and express it.
Additional meanings for this card: Archangels Ariel, Jophiel, Metatron, Raguel, Michael, Raziel and Raphael are all associated with this symbol. On a physical level, hawthorn berries strengthen the heart and blood. Keep your heart healthy through good nutrition and by listening to its needs and desires. Open the pathways of the metaphysical heart so you may be more receptive to love and your highest good.”*

The Elemental Kingdom is reaching out to us again. This time, through the magic of Hawthorn. Here, they are in a full, prolific abundance of blooms. Every inch is covered with perfect little white flowers. Hawthorn says to me that it is here to let us know that the Universe has more than you can possibly imagine. That there is so very much to go around. It wishes to work with us to banish our fear and lack mentality; replacing it with one of trust and deep knowledge of the graciousness of the Universe. Hawthorn speaks of living with the utmost conviction that the Universe is a magical place; full of miracles and abundance. That everything we need will always be provided. That when we have faith, we allow ourselves to receive.
Hawthorn also speaks of respect for the elementals. Of creating a strong connection; a relationship. It is about giving; not just taking. It warns of the consequences of hording or withholding; of blaming, competing and hiding. The thorns are there to remind us that we need not take more than we need. They are there to remind us that in order to work with the endless flow of possibility, we must employ gratitude, trust and respect for every living thing. Including ourselves. That we must slow down and move through our lives with focused intention.
Hawthorn is not about compromise. It is not about indecision, and it is not about feeling threatened. It is about leaps of faith; standing your ground; following your heart and finding your Soul.
For the Highest Good of All. By the Grace of the Universe.
