Daily Angel Oracle Card: Attachment ~ Reversed, from the Energy Oracle Card deck, by Sandra Anne Taylor
Attachment ~ Reversed: “Perceived Need and the Choice to Let Go.”
“This card reversed is a wonderful indicator that an old negative pattern, relationship, or desperate attitude is being released. As you continue to let go, you will be able to establish new ways of doing things and relating to others. The Universe wants to congratulate you on your healthy new approach, but be sure to support the changes you are making in your ongoing choices. Some patterns can be deeply encoded, and you may need to continue releasing the old habits, all the while honoring the new decisions in your thoughts, actions, and interactions with others. You have broken the chains, and now you can walk away from the limiting attachments into a bright and unlimited future.
I release attachment and choose peace. I am strong, free, and able to choose what honors me.”*

Remember Linus from the old Peanuts cartoon? He dragged his filthy, smelly blanket around everywhere with him for security. Many times his friends would try to convince him to get rid of the blanket, that he didn’t need it anymore. Yet there he was, in every cartoon, doggedly dragging it around in a cloud of dust and fumes.
What have you been dragging around with you for security that is well past it’s prime? A thought pattern concerning your value, self worth or capabilities? A relationship that has been long over but you are afraid to end? A job that makes your skin crawl but you can’t muster up the courage to follow your dreams? Or maybe a vise, an unhealthy habit or addiction that has been holding you back for way too long.
Sometimes we hold on to actual weight, feeling like victims, but putting off our lives until we miraculously wake up thin one day. Maybe not what we want to hear right now, but honest is good, and it’s time to take responsibility for every aspect of our lives, as that is the only way to shift into transformation, and ultimately, freedom.
What needs to be released in order for you to move forward?
Yes, this will require some action on your part, but it’s time. What can you let go of that is no longer serving you? It may be one little belief about yourself, letting go of a victim mentality, relinquishing control of something that you never really had control over. Move through the fear of change and acknowledge it now. Again, what do you need to let go in order to move forward? Whatever first comes to mind is likely the correct answer, as much as it may cause discomfort for us to consider such a pivotal change, it is absolutely necessary.
Take a few deep breaths and find your inner stillness. See yourself walking down a familiar path through the forest. As you walk along, you admire the energy of the trees, the sunlight shining through in beams. You can hear the birds communicating with each other, and with you. Breathe in the fresh air and feel that change is coming. You come to a fork in the path and you know this fork well. One way will lead you right back around in a circle, this is the path you have always taken in the past, it is safe, you know every nook and cranny. It’s easy. The other way looks a little steeper, a little wilder and you are not sure where it might lead. There are beautiful trees there, you can see glimpses. You can hear the birds calling, beckoning to you.
Stand at this fork in the road and take a few deep breaths. Focus on your heart and allow it to guide you. Are you sure you want to keep repeating the same old pattern? Or are you ready for change? Ask for a sign that you are ready to release the old and embrace the new. If you have the courage to do so, turn away from the old, familiar, small and safe world of the old path and take a single step onto the new, unknown path. Know in your heart that you are embarking on the adventure that your Soul yearns for.
This is your leap of faith. And you are so ready for it.
