Meaning: “When the Five Of Earth appears, awareness is of key importance. Something is not right. Someone is not as they seem. Someone lies and deceives, and that someone could be you. Could it be that you are lying to yourself and those around you? It might not be a deliberate deception, but it is a deception nonetheless.

The Five Of Earth can also symbolize the devil inside, who encourages you to take the easy way out, to look for options that lead to instant gratification, instead of putting in the hard work that yields enduring success. Is his voice in your head and heart, inspiring you to risk everything for the chance to a quick buck or a momentary thrill? Think twice. If you choose to take a gamble now, you risk losing it all.

This trickster is the beautiful ‘con man,’ whose sweet words encourage you to believe your own lies and deceptions. He caters to your weaknesses and addictions, dealing out easy lies instead of hard truths. He tells you to blame others for all that is wrong – disappointments, heartache, past failures, and missed opportunities – instead of taking responsibility for your own choices and actions.

Wherever the deception lays at this time, there may be some basis for your doubts and questions. your inner voice is telling you to look closer and see beyond selfish desires and blame so you can perceive the truth. Be honest with yourself, or heartache and disappointment may well follow.

Does that voice encourage you to laugh aside the fears and concerns of loved ones/ Or to respond with defensive anger? It is time to let your conscience guide you, instead of your selfish desires.

Are you choosing to be blind, or to turn your back on those who love you, in order to cater to your own self interests, bad habits, or addictions? Are you gambling with someone else’s future happiness as well as your own?

It is easy to say that those you hurt are responsible for what they choose to feel and how they react, but embracing this belief, even if it is true, still shows a marked lack of empathy and understanding. Your words and deeds have influence and consequences. Do not deceive yourself into believing that you are above reproach or accountability.

When the Five Of Earth appears to challenge, you are being cautioned against arrogance and pride. Understanding and consideration for others is needed at this time.”*

This is not a time to take a step back. It is time to take a step up. Do not compromise yourself, your values, your self worth. Watch for the red flags, and heed them. Do not dive in with both feet, even if you think you are getting a green light. Wait it out, trust, you will see why this is but an illusion and something much better is coming to you.

Sometimes we hope, wish, dream and pray for what we want and the Universe sends us a bit of a challenge. How clear are you on what you want to manifest? Do you really think the Universe will send you something second rate? An opportunity, person or object is coming to you now, dressed in what you have been wanting. Pay very close attention. Is this person or situation really offering what you deserve? Or is this a check up on your self-love? Are you stepping back into old patterns because it is easy? Or are you waiting it out, knowing with absolute conviction that what you desire most will, of course, be yours?

This is a tricky one. You may meet someone who looks like they could sweep you off your feet… except they neglect to treat you with authenticity, kindness and compassion. Maybe you think you can change them, or that things will improve? Run screaming in the opposite direction. Do not allow yourself to be bullied into what doesn’t feel right. This person is one of deception and lies, and it is because they are lying even to themselves. They are more invested in how they appear to the world than in how they treat those who love them. You can see this in the card image, the vulnerable feminine energy is swept aside, ignored and mistreated. It is possible that this could manifest in another area of your life, maybe you have been offered a job you have been wanting. But the pay is low and it’s not in the city you want and the boss seems over bearing or on a powertrip. Think long and hard on this one. What does your heart tell you? Turn it down? Maybe you have been looking for a new home and you found one, but it’s in a dodgy area and the neighbour looks shifty and the landlord or the real estate agent gives you the creeps. Whatever it is, have the patience and presence of mind to do your homework. Sleep on it.

Do not be pressured. Do not compromise.Look past the smoke and mirrors. Look past the fear. Do not melt into the background, but stand up for who you are and what is important to you. Take your power back and move forward fearlessly in the direction that your heart tells you is authentic. Let the truth guide you.

And trust that you are worth so much more. And know that what you truly wish to manifest is yours. It always was and always will be. And it will be much, much smoother than this.
