Daily Angel Oracle Card: Two Of Cups, from the Shadowscapes Tarot, by Stephanie Pui-Mun Law artwork by Barbara Moore
Two Of Cups: “This is the melding of water and earth and air, the alchemy of elements. Golden as the goblets, the fish swim through the waters (or is it air that they glide through?). The dryads coil around each other, braided into an embrace as fluid as the air (or is it the sea?) that they are surrounded by. They are soul mates. They twist together to form one solid trunk, and yet they retain their individuality and their own colours.
Like the harmonious swirl of a yin yang, they circle one another in a liquid push and pull that unifies. They share a cup. ‘Drink,’ one whispers, proffering the goblet.
‘I accept,’ one responds, and takes it into her hands. They drink deeply, at once, and the shared sap flows down into their roots.
The other cup balances precariously on an outstretched branch. They do not seem to notice it, though the spirits and sylphs watch it carefully. For now it stands stable, but as the trees grow, as the branches stretch and uncoil and burst into bloom, will that cup still stand upright or will it tip and tumble to the ground, spilling its precious liquid?
The Two Of Cups is about making a connection, a union, a partnership. It is the bringing together of opposites and the potential for bonding. It is a relationship. Like a living organism, relationships grow; the ones that are strong become pillars of stability, and the weak connections are gradually forgotten and fall apart.”*

There is love here, partner love, romantic love, maybe even soul mate or twin flame love. It is powerful, like a magnet drawing you together with another. Maybe you are already in a relationship; there is room for shift, room for seeing something that may have been missing to date. Maybe you are single and there is someone new on the horizon, hope is rekindled.
Whatever it is, this card represents the coming together of Divine Masculine and Divine Feminine into sacred unity. This is more than a hookup, there is deep love here. It is not just a sexual connection, it goes right into the heart center.
Yet sometimes if we are not emotionally mature, these types of relationships can be rocky. That is the precariousness of the situation. There is such great potential, but yet if we are not where we need to be in our own hearts and minds, we may walk away. Scared, doubtful, unable to trust, there are so many reasons to turn and run. Maybe the grass looks greener over there. Maybe it’s just too confusing to weed through all those old emotions. Maybe the projections are starting to seem real.
It could go either way.
If you haven’t processed your “stuff,” you might want to get on that. Because it could make the difference between being ready for love and the agony of the denial of love. You can’t be responsible for the other person, you can only hope they have done their work too. You can just be responsible for you. Work to open your own heart. Work to forgive, to bless and release and create some much needed space.
Know that if the foundation is set strongly, the cup is sure to stay full.
