Courage: “The warmth of all your open heart can give comfort to all who cross your path.”
“The root word for courage is coeur, which is the French word for heart. Courage comes from the heart. It is an inner strength, guided by love, which seeks truth and justice.
When you have the courage to be true to yourself, you start to feel empowered to act and live in ways true to your own soul, without any illusion. Ganesha is urging you to let down your guard and stop wearing a mask. Begin to have more respect for yourself as well as others. When you come from the heart, you will find that you relate better to others. Your innate gifts will be able to shine through. You are capable of leadership, achievement and inspiring others to succeed, through your own success.
When you draw this card, it is a sing that your ability to cooperate and thrive in peer ventures with like minded individuals is heightened. Be willing to do what is needed for things to run smoothly for you. Ganesha promises great success if you are willing to let down your walls. He is picture here on the powerful lion, inherited from his mother Parvati. The lion represents the fierce nature of Ganesha. He calls on you now to trust the fearless part of your being, your own inner lion, and invites you to work with him to learn how to be valiant and harness your heart’s great courage.”

It takes courage to take the opportunities we are offered; even when they are what we desire, they may be out of our comfort zone. They may feel scarier than living without the dream we have been so focused on creating. We may feel we are not yet qualified. We may feel we don’t know enough. We may feel that we don’t deserve it. Or maybe we have been treated badly in the past, have not done the necessary healing and worry we will suffer again. So we let opportunity pass us by.
Or, we have to give someone or something up, and even though we know it is absolutely vital, we hold on tight. We stick with what we know, and we let our heart’s down again. We put our masks firmly in place and pretend we are better off anyway. Who needs all that change.
Lord Ganesha is the breaker of obstacles, nothing stands in his way. If you are stuck, ask for his assistance in moving forward in a heart centered way. Ask him to assist you in your healing process. Ask him to help you to take off the mask. Ask him to present you with the courage to make the necessary change, take the necessary action and move forward towards your destiny.
Make an altar, with a couple of candles, a picture of Lord Ganesha, and an offering, flowers or a crystal will do nicely. Burn some incense. Light the candles, say a prayer and set your intention. Know that success is inevitable, although what form it takes could be a bit of a pleasant surprise!
