Set the intention to have more fun. Bring the lightness of Being into your reality; no one else can do this for you. We take things so seriously. We take ourselves so seriously. We need to lighten up, play, enjoy this moment.
The most dangerous habit we can get into is waiting for all the stars to come into alignment before we allow ourselves to feel joy. To wait until love walks in; to wait until we are debt free and have lost twenty pounds; or until we have the perfect job, the right friends or nicer stuff. It’s all an illusion; the idea that something or someone will bring you joy. Sure, fleetingly it works. You feel great for a while but then it fades and the old mindset comes back to haunt you.
The work must be done from the inside out. We must be able to find the joy first, no matter what is happening around us. We must take responsibility for how we see the world, how we react and how we can change for the better. It is a constant work in progress, something that takes dedication and commitment to mindfulness.
The Sun Dancers message to us today is to embrace life just as it is. See the blessings around you and appreciate even the tiniest ones. The signs of spring. A smile from a stranger. A hug from a loved one. The sun coming out from behind the clouds or the stars shining brightly. There is always something to be grateful for. There is always a way to reframe things, to appreciate the beauty, the love and the abundance always around us, even on the darkest of days.
And this gratitude is a portal to more of that. More of the blessings and miracles of life on this beautiful planet. It is one of the most powerful and life changing tools we possess. Use it generously. And don’t forget to have fun.
