You are being called back to the natural world in order for healing to take place. Back to the forest, the trees, the ocean, the lakes and streams. Back to the sun and the moon and the stars. Back to the healing properties of herbs and the deep wisdom of the plants and animals. Everything in the natural world has something to offer us, if we slow down and take the time to seek out it’s unique wisdom.

If you are feeling disconnected, isolated or alone, or if you have been spreading yourself too thin, this is a time to take some much needed rest. Wander in search of yourself, and to deepen your connection to the earth herself. Use all of your senses to communicate with her, to soak her all in.

This is also a time to step into being the medicine woman, or man. The healer, the shaman, the protector. What can you change about how you are living your life to make it more sustainable for the planet? How can you help it’s inhabitants? What simple thing can you incorporate into your life that would make a difference? Cutting back on water use; recycling more; buying local; disposing of medication, batteries and technology safely; repurposing something instead of discarding it; walking instead of driving today; incorporating at least one night of meatless dinners into your week; contributing to a cause or helping clean up a beach, using herbal medicine when possible instead of over the counter, refusing packaged or GMO’d foods… the list is endless.

Each of us can use our body, mind and spirit to reconnect. To ourselves, to the Earth and to each other.
