Eight Of Pentacles: “With diligence and patience, the spider crafts her gossamer web. Dawn dusts an array of dewey stars across the threads.

Weaver, weave a pattern:
weave a dream of summer musk;
weave the drape of autumn dusk.

Weaver, weave a fate:
weave a life’s frail, anchored line;
weave the pale moon’s waxing signs.

Weaver, weave a web;
craft each silky, precious thread;
artist’s inhibitions shred.

Spider works hard. She weaves her web through the night, each thread placed with care to create a pattern at once beautiful and built for a purpose. It is like a meditation, an intricate dance with eight legs: spin, step, step, hold, place thread, twist, and step; and repeat.

The Eight Of Pentacles embodies a craftsman, someone possessing great patience and who is attentive to details. It is a call to be absorbed in a project, to seek out knowledge, and pursue a higher understanding. But this must be done with practical experience, using one’s own hands and body and mind to create. This is often what is required to achieve success – a practical application of intellect and skill to a task to see through to the finish.”*

Spider webs take time, patience and determination to create. They must be woven in a specific way, step by step by step. You can’t skip a step, or the web will not be created in detail, it will lack something, strength, beauty, wholeness. A moving meditation to create a work of art, both functional and beautiful; stronger than should be possible. Spider signifies creation, working together with the elements, body, mind and spirit. Spider is about weaving the web of community, bringing people together, creating a bigger picture.

Spider brings mixed feelings to many of us, we fear spider more often than we respect her. Yet if we can resonate with her, if we can slow down and watch her magic, we can learn so much from her. Her dedication to her craft, her ingenuity and creativity. Her ability to take the opportunity in front of her and create something intricate with steady momentum, always moving forward, creating something new.

This is a call to take a hand in creating your own dreams, one thread at a time. Slowly, steadily, with patience, mindfulness and commitment creating something strong and beautiful. There is no way to rush things here, manifestation must be done in increments, the final masterpiece woven together over time.

The most important message is to start now, and put in the time and effort necessary to create what it is that you dream of. Do the work and reap the rewards. Have absolute faith in yourself to complete the project. Pour your heart and soul into it.
