The Moirae ~ Destiny

The Myth: “The Moirae are beings of destiny, also known as the Fates. Clotho, the youngest, spins the thread of life, deciding when each being is to be born. Lachesis, the middle sister, measures the thread of life, deciding how long each person or being will live. Atropos, the oldest, cuts the thread of life, deciding how each life ends. These three sister crones spin and weave our destinies.”

The Message: “If you have pulled this card, this is an incredibly magical time for you. Destiny is calling. You may feel prompted to make a leap of faith, unexpected events may occur, inspiration might strike, or you might be about to bring a project to completion. You may even find new romance, receive news about college, become involved in a new activity, or graduation will occur.

Destiny usually brings with it unexpected life-changing events, in which you will find incredible opportunity. These events can come in the guise of something difficult or painful, but do not be fooled – this is a magical time, a culmination of your life so far. It is important to move with the flow. Let your instincts guide you to where you need to be. If you experience painful events, remember to allow yourself a period of grieving, as nothing will feel clear unless you do this.

During life-changing events, it is important that you remain present, clear, and focused. Life often goes through major shifts that are beyond your comprehension and control, but it is still your life, and you control  your reactions. Only your willingness to be responsible for yourself will determine how wonderful these changes turn out to be.”*

Fate. Destiny. Serendipity. There’s something so romantic about it, surrendering as the universe guides us to our Soul Mates, or Twin Flames; we fall into the perfect job; we win a life-changing amount of money or are reunited with a long lost relative. The stuff movies are made of, chick flicks mostly lol. It’s that warm and fuzzy feeling that everything is going to be ok, if we just go with the flow and trust that it is all going to work out in the end. That there is a reason for everything, and that everything happens for a reason.

This kind of perspective has kept me sane in tough times. It connects us to the Universe through faith, let’s us take action yet give up a little of the control. It helps us to see the silver lining, which is always there. We can move forward knowing that things have a way of working out. We can move forward feeling like we are being supported, guided, loved and protected.

Of course we still need to use our inner wisdom to navigate the people and opportunities that come to us; some will be distractions and some will be the real deal. Use your heart to feel them out.

Trust what it tells you, and know that the Universe has your back.
