Nine Of Swords:

“Stormcrows herald impending dissolution
with voices cawing raucous absolution
round and round and spiraling ever near
one future sought – one future feared.”

“The funnel of the sky stretches up to the heavens, an ominous tower of storms with only a tiny glimmer of hope lighting the eye of turmoil high above. “Come to me, come with me,” the voice of a stormcrow whispers to him from nearby. “Let me guide you through.” With anxious eyes, he gazes upwards, away, oblivious to the proffered guidance through the dark night of the soul. He clutches a sheathed sword close for security, though he could easily grasp its bright blade aloft to light the way. But he is ignorant of that beacon he holds so tight, or perhaps too weak hearted and tremulous to wield it.

He suffers from anguish. The swords tattooed upon his breast are pinpricked markings of the regrets he experiences. He is tormented by inner fear, anxiety, guilt, and uncertainties in the night. He is a being of the air – his wings should carry him aloft, and the sky should be open and expansive and a world of freedom. Instead, it feels like a trap closing its jaws upon him with the howling winds of the approaching storm. And yet, if he were to just cast aside those doubts, he could be as free as the stormcrows that spiral in untroubled arcs above.

The Nine Of Swords swirls with inner turmoil. It is a moment of vulnerability, with the soul laid bare to its own demons. Guilt and fear lock muscles into immobility. Understand the source of those fears; learn what they mean and where they stem from. Know that the strength to break free of those shackles lies within one’s own heart.”*

~ By Stephanie Pui-Mun Law

This is a message about facing your fears, releasing yourself from feeling stuck by your circumstances, and daring to create something new. Fear is holding you hostage in more ways than you realize. Emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually. Vibrationally. Look at it closely. Where is the fear coming from? Is it so ingrained that you are used to it? Are you feeling like a victim of circumstance in your own life?

It’s time to create something new. Release the old scars, the regrets, the pain of the past. It is time to soar above the drama and the limited perceptions of what is possible for you. And the only way to do this is to take full responsibility for everything that has happened in your life and learn from it. See the lesson and let it all go. Focus your energy elsewhere, away from the old habits and ways of being in the world.

The birds in this card represent freedom as they soar up towards the portal of light and infinite opportunity. He is so aware of the pain of the past it is literally engraved on his chest; yet he fails to notice his own big, beautiful and powerful wings, where his guide stands trying to get his attention; to offer support. Yet he looks the other way. He thinks he needs a sword to fight his way through life, yet what he needs instead is to trust in his ability to rise above it all and create something new.

Look at your own life. Where are you being held back by the past? Are you seeing the Light being offered to you now? Where can you shed the old pain and the weight of past regrets and mistakes and find renewed strength and courage to release all the old and embrace a new lightness of Being? Trust in yourself and your own big beautiful, powerful wings to take you where you need to be. For the Highest Good Of All.

And so it is

Three Of Pentacles

Daily Angel Oracle Card: Three Of Pentacles, from the Shadowscapes Tarot, by Stephanie Pui-Mun Law, artwork by Barbara Moore

Three Of Pentacles: “They work together as one, creating a human ladder and climbing upon each other’s shoulders. With their combined height, they reach upwards, they yearn towards the sky.

Into the stone wall, she inscribes her pentacles and her circles. They form a chain of overlapping arcs, like her interlinked relationships: circled sets of inclusion and combination. It is a mathematical equation of human relationships and interactions.

Each arc is inscribed with care, as if they follow a blueprint. Her fingers trail through the stone as easily as if the surface were malleable clay. The solid stone gives way under the soft flesh of her fingertips. Such is the power of their combined wills that what is ‘impossible’ suddenly becomes easy, mundane, achievable. They comprehend the power of unity when one works in conjunction with others.

The Three Of Pentacles is the embodiment of teamwork, of functioning together as a unit. It underscores competence and achieving beyond the expected. Sometimes the support of others is required to achieve a goal; not everything can be accomplished solo. Not everything needs to be accomplished alone. Reaching out to others is no failing, but working with others requires patience, planning, and compromise to adhere to standards of cooperation.”*

As November comes to a close and the holiday season looms ahead we may find ourselves stretched too thin. Everyone has responsibilities, and when we add the extra expense, time and effort that goes into the coming month, it can be very overwhelming.

The Three Of Pentacles is a reminder that you are never alone. That you must ask for help and that when you do, that help will appear. You may ask it from family or friends, coworkers or peers, or you may ask it from your guides and the Universe itself. But you must ask. You must admit that you can do the impossible with a helping hand. You can move the mountains with a little assistance. It’s ok to admit that you need help.

There is an element of unwavering support here too; someone who comes in and really cares to help you. Someone who lifts you up, who contributes something important. Wise words, encouragement, a receptive ear, maybe even an opportunity is on offer. Decide right now that you are willing to receive it. That you will allow someone to come in and give of themselves to you. That you will welcome it with open arms.

Open your heart to the support that you need in order to move forward and build something new.

And so it is

The Star

The Star, from the Shadowscapes Tarot, by Stephanie Pui-Mun Law, artwork by Barbara Moore

Daily Angel Oracle Card: The Star, from the Shadowscapes Tarot, by Stephanie Pui-Mun Law, artwork by Barbara Moore

The Star: “Silver gilded footsteps glide of silver flowing streams with the silver glowing starlight etching night in silver seams.

There is no sun. There is no moon. In the hushed stillness of the blackest night, only a trail of stars glitters like a fortune in diamonds upon the velvet carpet of the sky. The river of the Milky Way pours across the heavens in a cascade of starry pinpricks, and she comes dancing down that lane to where the celestial river runs to the silver etched earthly waters.

Water and earth and air become a single element in her presence. Walk on one, swim through the other, it matters not which; they are as she wills them to be.

She dances, and her feet are so light, there is but the barest disturbances of ripples upon her watery dance floor. She dances the dance that the stars have choreographed in their millenia of gazing down on the earth. It is their silent homage to the burning spirit they have witnessed. It is the dance and flow of human life, condensed into a pure essence of painful beauty. It is Hope made into a visual form.

She stretches and strains, sways and arches, leaps to impossible heights in time to a tempo that beats in the silent pulses of the stars above. A cascade of river droplets sprays for the from her swirling form. Where each droplet falls, a flowery tendril slowly sprouts.

She dances tirelessly through the night, inhuman and yet embodying humanity in her very being. When the glow of dawn touches the eastern sky, she clasps her silvery cloak tight. There is a sudden weariness to her eyes, but it is edged with triumph as well. She steps up the slowly furling carpet of the Milky Way, back to her sister stars in the night, where they gleam and wait for the next true night to dance again.”

Meaning: “Regaining hope, faith in the future, inspiration. Finding the still and silent place within your being of serenity, tranquility amid trouble, harmony, offering without reservations, Sharing and being generous. The harshness of daylight or even moonlight is gone, and there is nothing but the calm and nonjudgmental eyes of the stars. There is a peace to that, a space to gather up, prepare, and uplift the spirit. Let loose doubts and fears to the embrace of the night. The stars have always been symbols of guidance and hope, the light to lead you home. A resilient fish, carp symbolize strength, perseverance, courage, and determination of spirit. The chrysanthemums, commonly representative of longevity, are also symbols of hope.”

“You demi-puppets that by moonshine do the
green sour ringlets make,
whereof the ewe not bites,
and you whose pastime is to make midnight mushrooms…”

-Shakespeare, The Tempest (Act V, Scene I)

Forty days and forty nights we traveled to the underworld and back with Venus. We have been down to the depths of of our emotions, weeded through the debris and cleaned house. Many of us have relived uncomfortable lessons, gained clarity and broken old patterns. Released the old and made space for the new. Let go of the belief systems that held us stagnant for too long. We will never be the same. And that is a good thing.

Now we step forward, renewed. We feel the shift in the collective energy. Now we can expand into a new freedom, a new way of being in the world. Passion, joy and inspiration are available to us in abundance. Our opportunities are as limitless as the stars. And all will come to us with as much grace and ease as we are willing to invite to receive it.

The struggle is over and we can breathe easier. We have six weeks to finish off this year; powerfully, courageously, boldly. What do you desire to create? Where will you focus your energy?

And what else is possible?

Six of Cups

Daily Angel Oracle Card: Six of Cups, from the Shadowscapes Tarot, Stephanie Pui-Mun Law, artwork by Barbara Moore

Six of Cups: “She wanders along the path until she comes to her destination. The creek burbles along its bed not far below her chosen spot, and she sets up her table and teacups to receive her visitors – first her friends from home, with their shiny button eyes and thread sewn smiles.

And then the shyer ones begin to creep forth from the shadows and hollows of the woods: the sylphs and nymphs from the glassy water below, the dryads from the birch and the beech and oak, and the goblins from under. These are the companions she has been waiting for, and she greets them cheerfully. They are drawn forth by her innocent chatter and by the mind that has not yet been chained by boundaries of ‘what must be,’ and definitions of impossibility. In her world, fish are not bound by the water of the creek – they may swim through the air above that glassy path – and the sylvan company she entertains at her table are as welcome as the ones made of cloth and stuffing.

The Queen of the Faeries steps forth, and the fantastic retinue draws back, but the girl just smiles, pours a cup of tea, and offers it with a smile.

The Six of Cups is a reminder of childhood innocence, good intentions, noble impulses, simple joys and pleasures. It is not meant to be overly sentimental, but more an urging to remember the open-mindedness of a child’s perspective, and to push back the narrowness that folds in on you over time with the complexities of life and responsibility.”*

Where’s your imagination? Are you using it to its full potential? What can you dream into existence? Where can you shed insecurities, limitations and judgments? How can you add a little playtime, a little fun, a little excitement into your life? Things are getting way too serious!

Do you remember what it is like to see things with child-like wonder? To accept people at face value? To slow things down and just Be? Have you ever tried to get anywhere fast with a toddler, who is busy picking flowers and following ants and inspecting their fingers and toes?

We get all caught up in the should’s of life. The have-to’s, the obligations and responsibilities. The same old exhausting routines. We draw on our vast life experience to decide things; we judge outcomes without actually seeing them through. We judge people without hearing them out or getting to know them first. We jump to conclusions, assume the worst, lower our expectations. Have you ever known a toddler to lower their expectations? No, that never happens. They just assume they can have it all and have a fit if it doesn’t happen. Then, they get over it and start again. Onwards and upwards right?

So, how can you loosen up a bit? How can you add more fun? How can you shake things up, lighten your load? Incorporate some fun into your life, raise your vibration. Laugh, sing, dance, skip. Be free.

Eight Of Pentacles

Published August 29, 2018 by Dee ~ Archangel Oracle

Eight Of Pentacles, from the Shadowscapes tarot, by Stephanie Pui-Mun Law, artwork by Barbara Moore

Daily Angel Oracle Card: Eight Of Pentacles, from the Shadowscapes tarot, by Stephanie Pui-Mun Law, artwork by Barbara Moore

Eight Of Pentacles: “With diligence and patience, the spider crafts her gossamer web. Dawn dusts an array of dewey stars across the threads.

Weaver, weave a pattern:
weave a dream of summer musk;
weave the drape of autumn dusk.

Weaver, weave a fate:
weave a life’s frail, anchored line;
weave the pale moon’s waxing signs.

Weaver, weave a web;
craft each silky, precious thread;
artist’s inhibitions shred.

Spider works hard. She weaves her web through the night, each thread placed with care to create a pattern at once beautiful and built for a purpose. It is like a meditation, an intricate dance with eight legs: spin, step, step, hold, place thread, twist, and step; and repeat.

The Eight Of Pentacles embodies a craftsman, someone possessing great patience and who is attentive to details. It is a call to be absorbed in a project, to seek out knowledge, and pursue a higher understanding. But this must be done with practical experience, using one’s own hands and body and mind to create. This is often what is required to achieve success – a practical application of intellect and skill to a task to see through to the finish.”*

~ By Stephanie Pui-Mun Law

Spider webs take time, patience and determination to create. They must be woven in a specific way, step by step by step. You can’t skip a step, or the web will not be created in detail, it will lack something, strength, beauty, wholeness. A moving meditation to create a work of art, both functional and beautiful; stronger than should be possible. Spider signifies creation, working together with the elements, body, mind and spirit. Spider is about weaving the web of community, bringing people together, creating a bigger picture.

Spider brings mixed feelings to many of us, we fear spider more often than we respect her. Yet if we can resonate with her, if we can slow down and watch her magic, we can learn so much from her. Her dedication to her craft, her ingenuity and creativity. Her ability to take the opportunity in front of her and create something intricate with steady momentum, always moving forward, creating something new.

This is a call to take a hand in creating your own dreams, one thread at a time. Slowly, steadily, with patience, mindfulness and commitment creating something strong and beautiful. There is no way to rush things here, manifestation must be done in increments, the final masterpiece woven together over time.

The most important message is to start now, and put in the time and effort necessary to create what it is that you dream of. Do the work and reap the rewards. Have absolute faith in yourself to complete the project. Pour your heart and soul into it.

King Of Swords

Published July 4, 2018 by Dee ~ Archangel Oracle

King Of Swords, from the Shadowscapes Tarot, by Stephanie Pui-Mun Law, artwork by Barbara Moore

Daily Angel Oracle Card: King Of Swords, from the Shadowscapes Tarot, by Stephanie Pui-Mun Law, artwork by Barbara Moore

King Of Swords: “Like the vertical sword he holds at the ready, he is a pillar of strength and morality. He holds power over life and death. He is a warrior king, sword always drawn so that he can be prepared to spring into action, should the need arise.

He is a leader, riding triumphantly at the forefront of his army. He carries through with his actions, following the path of truth that the blade lights for him. He is led on by the silent wisdom of the owl. She perches, balanced upon the very tip of his blade, and her eyes swirl with all the ancient knowledge that her kind has been imbued with by human beliefs.

Mirroring the owl, he is also led by the shadowy ravens that trail at his side like Hugin and Mugin, Odin’s twin ravens, “Thought” and “Memory”. They fly away to seek out truths and bring their findings back to be whispered in his ear. In conjunction, they are the balance of night and day. They are the sharp clarity of of the sun, and the owl is the truth that can only be heard distinctly in velvety light of stars and moon. This is what is embodied in those avian companions.

The shadows of the night descend upon his shoulders, a living mantle of purple, a colour the ancient Greeks associated with royalty, and the base of the throne is etched with da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man, symbolic of the blend of art and science, of the symmetry in the human body and in the whole of the Universe.”*

~ By Stephanie Pui-Mun Law

This is a message about truth and balance. Karma, justice and integrity. It is about code of ethics and moral conduct. It is a reminder that we always have a choice to take the high road, setting our intentions to be for the highest good of all involved.

People are not always kind and life is not always fair. Things are not always black and white. But we are only ever in control of our own reactions, never of other people’s actions. We always have a choice.

We create karma as we go along, putting our vibes out into the  world for the better or for the worse. We decide what we put out, how we treat people and how we see ourselves. When we make our decisions from a heart centered place, we are actually more powerful. We expand and move past the contracted state of fear, anger, lack and judgment; into a lighter way of Being. This is available to anyone and everyone who commits to it. And this is what enlightenment really is. A larger perspective, a deep understanding of the connection between all living beings.

Where in your life could you take the high road? Where can you step free from the drama and refuse to be caught up in the chaos? This is where your power lies. In the balance. Of the space between. Be discerning. Stand your ground. See the bigger picture. And learn to walk away when you need to.

Seven Of Pentacles

Published June 10, 2018 by Dee ~ Archangel Oracle

Seven Of Pentacles, from the Shadowscapes Tarot, by Stephanie Pui-Mun Law, artwork by Barbara Moore

Daily Angel Card: Seven Of Pentacles, from the Shadowscapes Tarot, by Stephanie Pui-Mun Law, artwork by Barbara Moore

Seven Of Pentacles: “She stands in the verdant garden that she has lovingly tended. She is the guardian dryad of the wood. She is a part of this place, this Eden of her own making. The peaches are ripe; a magical energy writhes in each lush globe. Peaches are a fruit of summer,  of long days of relaxation. Their nectar is honeyed longevity. The sweet tang of their juice rolling over the tongue is like a visceral memory of summer.

To pluck them or not? The tattooed waves churn on her body with her speculation. She lays her hand on the fruit, ready to take it. It pulses faintly as if it contains the heart the tree, beating with the pulse of sap through the branches. Will these peaches still sparkle with that living glow once taken from the tree, or will they just become dull as the normal fruit in her basket?

The Seven Of Pentacles challenges you to make a choice: to eat and enjoy the fruit in the basket, or to leave them to flower and ripen and continue upon the branch? It is about reaping the reward for effort and work. The seeds have been sown; the time of work and waiting has passed. They have grown and come to fruition. Now is the moment to appreciate. It is a calm moment of consideration of alternatives and different approaches.”*

~ By Stephanie Pui-Mun Law

An opportunity is coming your way, will you take it? Maybe you are fearful that it isn’t for you, or maybe you feel that it looks too good to be true. Maybe you are worried that if you take this opportunity you will miss something better, and you should leave it and continue waiting for the next big thing. But yet will you miss out on it all if you don’t act now?

Seven is the number of life path, of truth and of seeing past the illusion. It is a number of confirmation and of forward motion; of infinite possibility. What is on offer here is actually more important than it may seem. What you choose will have long term effects in your life, shifting and changing your future. Will you choose the fruit, ripe and ready for picking? The peach symbolizes health, long life and even immortality. Or will you leave it on the branch for someone else to pick. If you leave it for too long it will ferment, drop off and fertilize the ground for something new… but you will need patience to wait again for it to come to fruition.

Be courageous, especially if you are normally not! Choose something different to create something new in your life.

Take a leap of faith.
