Queen Of Pentacles: “The Queen Of Pentacles yearns to nurture and care for others. She is brimming with generosity and possesses a warmth of spirit that glows from her eyes. The fan of branches arrayed around her figure are reminiscent of the ten armed Hindu Goddess Durga, embodiment of feminine creative energy. She is dedication, a protector, and one who is reliable and trustworthy. She is secure in her material possessions and her position in life.

The Queen Of Pentacles will lend her support to any who ask. She has strength that she draws from the very oak tree that she is a part of (or that is a part of her). She is willing to share the strength that is drawn down from the sustaining golden power of life and warmth of the sun itself into her branches, and transmuted into purest energy.

‘Carry this as a token and a reminder that I am always here,’ she says, taking a leaf from the boughs that whisper a singing susurrus from around her. They sigh in a hundred voices, an eerie harmony of the secrets that they hold for her.”*

There is so much power in the symbolism here. The sun, moon and earth. The power of the mighty oak in the form of the Divine Feminine, mother Earth herself. She is rooted deeply into the ground yet reaches up high into the cosmos, drawing down the power to assist those who are in need of her magic. She is greens and yellows, representing the heart, healing and also confidence, courage and self-worth. She reaches towards us with the oak leaf, significant of her ability to help us if we step into her realm.

Get outside. Even if it is cold; bundle up. Your body needs it, craves it. This is elemental energy and it can only be felt when in the elements. Maybe it is winter where you are, there is snow on the ground here as I type this. Maybe your winter is still sunshine and warm temperatures, lucky you if it is! Whatever the elements have to offer you, take it. There is deep and powerful magic within it that can only be accessed through our physical senses.

We must be in the fresh air to breath it into our lungs. We must be in the wind for it to sweep through our hair. We must stand under the rain to feel it cleanse and clear us. We must reach out and touch the bark of a tree to truly connect with its energies. Go where it resonates to you personally. Where your soul sings. Maybe that is in the forest, amongst the tallest trees. Or maybe it is at the beach, the wind whipping your hair about your face. Maybe there is a park or a lake or a stream you like to visit. Or maybe your own back yard holds as much magic and mystery as you need.

Take a little offering with you, maybe a small tumbled stone. Plant it somewhere special and make a wish, asking for assistance in creating a particular dream, or solving a present issue in your life. Take some time to connect with the natural world around you, appreciating it. Sending gratitude and love.

Then leave only your energy imprint and know that assistance is on its way to you now. A little gift from the Queen of Pentacles.

Nine Of Arrows

Nine Of Arrows, from the Wild Wood Tarot, by Mark Ryan and John Matthews, artwork by Will Worthington

Daily Angel Oracle Card: Nine Of Arrows, from the Wild Wood Tarot, by Mark Ryan and John Matthews, artwork by Will Worthington

Nine Of Arrows: “Dedication”

Card Description: “A figure clad in skin robes decorated with patterns of leaves, stands in a clearing amid the Wildwood. She is holding a bow as though it were an instrument, the back of the bow cradled in her arms and an arrow held against the string as if it were the bow on a fiddle. Around her, repulsed by an invisible shield, are another eight arrows.”

Card Meaning: “The spiritual warrior dedicates their arrows of inspiration by playing the bow as an instrument of summoning. The inner oath helps keep one on a balanced footing by dedicating skills to a greater good.”

Reading Points: “To heed the calling to dedicate one’s life to any skill, spiritual path, belief system or philosophy requires sincerity, self-discipline, and hard work. It is a sacred summoning that requires time and effort. For those who hear the calling and become spiritual warriors and protectors of the land, responsibility and sacrifice are also required. To deny that the human species has had a negative effect on the planet’s climate and atmosphere seems totally redundant. The growing awareness of our individual impact on the ecosystem may take on greater significance in the future. We cannot predict what effect our avarice and rapacious exploitation of the land will eventually produce, bu the dedicated defender of the soil must protect the living legacy we leave for our children. To teach by example the value of respecting other’s beliefs and philosophies in honouring the land is immensely important. Sometimes a simple daily ritual reminds us of the oath we have taken to conserve and protect the environment. Dedicate yourself to the task of preserving the land and be a part of making a difference.”*

~ By Mark Ryan and John Matthews

To me she represents the Devic or Elemental realm… how her hair ends in feathers and leaves cover her scarf… her robes blending with the growth patterns of the trunk of the tree. She is slightly forlorn, but also very focused on the task at hand. She is using her arrows in the most magical way; as instruments of peace and scared service, not as weapons in the traditional sense. She wishes only to heal, to assist, and to send her intention out far and wide knowing as she does so, she is capable of making a difference.

Just as each and every one of us can make a difference as we change our ways. As we choose healthy lifestyle choices for ourselves, our families and our Sacred Mother, Gaia. We choose sustainable resources, we choose not to use plastic, and we choose to reduce, reuse, and recycle. We can choose to plant a garden or a tree and nurture it free of chemicals. We can choose to support local farmers and businesses. We can choose to walk, bike or take public transport or to share transportation with others.

We can choose to make a difference. A big difference.

And this difference is made one person at a time, one choice at a time. Coming together as the collective to say NO where the governments do not bother. Where the laws do not support the environment or the people. We can use our leverage as a whole to put companies out of business by simply not purchasing from them. But learning to grow our own crops. By not stepping foot in the big box stores… or at least slowly weaning ourselves off. By choosing experiences over possessions. By refusing to fill our living spaces with clutter and stuff. By teaching our children that a plastic toy that lasts a few min at hand and a millenia in the landfill is simply not an option.

We can set an example by being different, choosing differently and living by our own code. And encouraging others to do the same. Teaching the children to do the same. Building strong communities.

Because no one is going to make these changes for us. And by the time they catch up it will most likely be too late.

Choose today, right now, to do something differently every day. Bring your own bags. Bring your own cup to the coffee shop. Shop at the local consignment shop. Donate what you are not using to someone who needs it. Plan a garden, even if it means a few pots on your patio. Plant a tree. Do something that makes a difference. And do it with ease, grace and the joy of helping to heal the damage that has been done. The damage that we can no longer sustain, make excuses for or tolerate.

For our Great Mother.

And so it is

Goals: “Dedication, Process”

“When we are motivated by goals that have deep meaning, by dreams that need completion, by pure love that needs expressing, then we truly live life”
~ Greg Anderson

“In a larger metaphysical sense, our journey through life is said to be full of transformation from an imperfect, corruptible state towards a perfect, healthy and everlasting state. What does not kill us makes us stronger. Thus painful or difficult changes that we endure can in theory burnish us in a spiritual sense to a high, golden shine. We can also seek out knowledge, opportunity and challenge; it is not necessary to merely allow life to happen to us.

In this scene, an Alchemist serves as an analogy for striving to achieve an end goal through study, experimentation, dedication and perseverance. His facial markings trace the beginning and end points of his quest from base lead through its various stages of purification of the soul to gold. The symbol for gold appears in the center of his forehead, where the Third Eye chakra is perceived to be.

This card is a reminder to stay focused on the goal and to continually apply the required self-discipline. It will all be worth it in the end.”*

 ~ By Ciro Marchetti

Be mindful that there may be people or situations around you at this time that trigger you. They may trigger sadness, pain or fear; they may trigger worry or self-doubt. These are all coming up for a reason, they are little hurdles along your journey; challenges that you must learn to turn from lead to gold in order to move forward. When you are feeling triggered, suddenly stressed or frustrated or angry or sad, instead of stuffing it and putting on a mask, look at the situation with detachment and compassion. What did the person do or say to trigger you? Why are you allowing yourself to feel triggered by this? What other reactions are possible at this time? What lesson was learned from the past experience that holds the power to trigger you? How do you release yourself once and for all from the ties that have bound you to this lesson? Once you gain clarity you can find a way to bless, release and move forward.

This is a great time for journaling, getting it all out on paper can give you perspective and is a much more powerful tool than seeking advice or complaining to friends or loved ones. When we write it all out, we force ourselves to see the problem from all angles, and then we are also called to use our own deep wisdom to solve it. When we allow ourselves the time and space to do this, we can listen to our own heart’s to guide us, rather than being guided by someone else. We take control, and we heal ourselves.

Do not let yourself get off course, this is only a speed bump, and you are being challenged for a reason. When you solve this, and truly learn to let it go, you will never be triggered by it again. This is one step closer to your manifestation.

Stay the course on your quest, Spiritual Warrior.

Become the Alchemist.

Daily Angel Oracle Card: The Solitary, from The Forest Faery Oracle, by Lucy Cavendish, artwork by Maxine Gadd

The Solitary: “Dedication, Self-Love, Focus”

“Within, within you go. When the Solitary visits, you are about to go within, to withdraw and retreat from the world for a time. This can be a response to an event from the outside – a trauma, sadness, or betrayal – and the withdrawing inwards, which appears to be depression, is actually a way of respecting the soul’s shadow, investigating it, understanding it, and mastering it. This card indicates a time when you will go it alone – walk your own path, choosing to carve a way forward that you can be sure remains true to the deep self. There will be a time of learning away from the mainstream, and there may be times when you feel isolated and somewhat worried about how your new path will be perceived. It can also indicate that in a past life, you have suffered for your gifts and spirituality. You may have experienced a past life as a healer, seer, witch, wyzard, or medicine man, in which a new order decreed your power to be invalid and dark. This fear still pursue you when you connect with the power of your gift – resulting in fears surrounding intuition and your natural talents.

By going within, we learn more about our soul. It is not a part of the journey that we necessarily look forward to, but it is a time of great development on the spiritual path and is imperative to your growth. Before we can shine our light in the world, we must ignite our inner spark. This going inward is actually the sacred task of tending your own sacred flame and learning from it, before turning to matters of the world again. This card can sometimes indicate that a person has undergone a literal near death experience.”

The answers you seek are within you; will you take the time to delve deeply and listen? It has been hidden within you for eons; the vast knowledge of the ages – the akashic records, the secrets of the Universe, the knowledge of the Ancients. You can access all of it from within. You do not need a guru to sell it to you; or a spiritual book to read. This is not about classes or courses to take, meditations to purchase, or Youtube videos to watch. Helpful as those can all be, presently they are only confirmation of what you already know; and they are only a tiny fraction; a glimpse of what is actually available to us. They give us the ideas, but not the feelings, not the connection and not the expansion that we can access, for free, from within. This particular aspect of your journey can only be experienced from within.

Silence is magic. Amplified when practiced within the abundance of the natural world.

Go, sit outside and Be. Breathe. Quiet the mind. Connect to the Earth. Connect to the Universe. When you are ready, go deep. What is there to learn? What is there to see, feel, experience? Integrate? Align?

Practice daily for ascension, expansion, enlightenment. Simple. Profound. Connection.
