Kunzite is the perfect stone for Valentines day, the day we celebrate love. Except that day, of course, has now taken on a materialism that has gotten totally out of control, well in North America anyhow, I can’t speak for the rest of the world. Valentines day isn’t about what you get from who you are with; it’s not about lavish gifts, over-priced chocolate and flowers or exorbitant meals. It’s about love and acceptance. And it starts with you loving you.

Personally, I think the best way to look at Valentines, especially if you are single, is just to have a little fun with it. For instance, Thor is my Valentine of choice (and he looks pretty happy about it too!)

Kunzite is a stone of the higher heart, the key to Unconditional Love. It is a gentle and powerful healer of the heart, helping to wash away past hurts and replace the darkness with Light. It also helps us to release all the old patterns of self-destructive behaviours in relationship; readying ourselves to receive more love, whether single or in union with another. Kunzite helps us to ope up and strengthen our connection to All That Is, the planet, the people, the Beings and the Universe. Its energy is much needed now.

If you have Kunzite, wear it, place it in your pocket or under your pillow. Light a pink candle and write a list or a poem about the attributes you wish to find in a new love, or experience in an existing relationship. Give yourself a big hug and then hold your hands in a heart shape so that your thumbs are right at the center of your chest. Imagine that heart filling with bright pink light, and your Higher Heart Chakra blazing to life.

Know that you are worthy and decide you are ready to accept more love into your life.

Ehwaz, from the Viking Oracle, by Angela Hartfield, artwork by Jimmy Manton

Daily Angel Oracle Card: Ehwaz, from the Viking Oracle, by Stacey Demarco, artwork by Jimmy Manton

Ehwaz: “Take speedy action. Open yourself to the power of flow. It benefits us to work with the rhythms of the natural world. Equine-assisted therapy may be of comfort to you. Eat seasonally available foods and notice the particular energies of each season. We are not our past.”

“The wind, it works its way
Through my hair, a crown of ink.
I smell its direction.
I feel its sway.
My legs, they hold
To the warmth of fur,
The bellows of breathing.
I am Ehwaz.”

“Ehwaz (pronounced, “ay-waz), is the rune of the horse, and it tells us of the importance of flow, rhythm and the gaining of momentum over time. Good riders adapt their bodies and minds to the rhythm of each of their horse’s gaits: walk, trot, canter and gallop (or, in the case of Icelandic horses, their special gliding ‘tolt). In doing so, they become one with their steed, bringing grace, ease and a deep connection between human and horse.

Ehwaz suggests we bring this same sensitivity to our everyday lives. That, rather than resisting the flow, we adapt to – even enjoy – the rhythm of life as we move with it. For example, we can align with the changing seasons, withdrawing with the introverted nature of winter, and setting forth new plans in the fertile spring. Even the foods available differ from season to season, and scientists agree that eating seasonally is better for the health of our bodies.

Ehwaz is also a rune of the now, not the past nor the future. It reminds us that by being where we are and enjoying the fullness and completeness of this present moment we create a more mindful and enjoyable future.”

Ehwaz as Challenger: “Stop resisting. What is is. What has happened is done. Accept it and move on – wiser for the experience and with a positive outlook.”

Element: “Water”*

Yesterday we were day-dreaming our desires into reality, today we take the action necessary to make it happen in the physical realm. We don’t resist change but go with it. We don’t hold on when we need to move forward because we trust in the Universe and ourselves. In this way we take a hand in creating through action, one small step at a time.

Horses are powerful and intelligent animals. They deserve our respect and we can learn as much from them as they are willing to teach us and we are willing to learn. They possess a beauty and grace that we as humans have always been drawn to. They can be strong and loyal allies if we treat them with reverence. They can be wild and free, fast and playful; and they can be still and silent, aware, watching. Many of my friends talk to their horses as if they were people, and you only need to look that horse in the eye to know they are fully aware if unable to answer out loud! There are medicine horses here too; ones that understand energy, chakras, auras and healing. They are a rare and amazing gift to those who work with them.

Let the energy of the horse drive you forward with all your grace and power. For the highest good of all. Gallop forward boldly towards your dreams.

And so it is

The Lunar Queen

The Lunar Queen, from the Isis Oracle, by Alana Fairchild, artwork by Jimmy Manton

Daily Angel Oracle Card: The Lunar Queen, from the Isis Oracle, by Alana Fairchild, artwork by Jimmy Manton

The Lunar Queen: “She of the Celestial Crescent”

“There is a deep feminine wisdom that recognizes the importance of rest and replenishment as essential balancing to our actions of power and demonstration. You are asked to allow this replenishment for yourself now, trusting that you are in a cycle of creation that is about to shift into a new phase. Release and enjoy the process without having to control or force it.”

“Isis as Lunar Queen, understands the cycles of creative power and flow. Sometimes it can be hard to let go of a desire to force, control and make things happen, to exert might and will power to bring what you wish for into being by sheer determination, exertion and force. Yet the vast creative power of the feminine principle is in honouring and flowing with cycles of activity and rest, of releasing force and surrendering into the perfection of what is happening right now, realizing that this actually brings us Divine manifestation and creation more effortlessly and gracefully and to greater effect!

The Celestial Crescent is the Moon in her changing form. This oracle comes to you at a time when you are shifting from one phase in your spiritual and creative journey into a new phase. This is a time to pay deep attention to the messages of your body and allow them to guides you. Do you need to balance your activity with more rest? Do you need to be actively creating, but from a more relaxed and allowing rather than demanding or forceful mental state? Or is it time for you to spring into action once more? Has the time come to take a step forward? Pay attention to any other card that you draw with The Lunar Queen to more fully understand which phase is more appropriate for you now. These cards will help you connect with your inner wisdom and the guidance of your own body wisdom for the greatest timing and unfoldment of your manifestation. Remember, sometimes more time in the oven prevents an undercooked meal! Sometimes we just need to wait a little longer.

The quiet times are dark moon energies, the times when you will sense from your inner wisdom, your body wisdom, that you are in need of replenishment and percolation.

The other times, when you feel the inner oven timer has rung and it is time to get that delicious meal on the table, your body will urge you to dance, to act, to communicate, to be bold and take the steps. These are full moon energies.

Your body will help you to know where you are at and what you need. The flow between the dark moon and full moon and all phases in between is constant. In allowing that flow, even several times in a day or an hour, you will maximize your creativity and allow your life to manifest creative project after creative project, should you so choose. You will feel great inner harmony, wellness, and connection.

This Oracle is also a reminder that this feminine wisdom is not widely accepted in Western culture as yet, with its distorted view of what constitutes productive behaviour. The Lunar Queen is quite a radical! You will need to really believe in your own wisdoms in as you learn to operate in this more intuitive, flexible, responsive, feminine way. The Oracle tells you that Lady Isis and the spiritual guidance that cares for you completely encourages and supports you in being strong and giving yourself absolute permission to rest when needed, to honour your creative cycles for greatest productivity and quality.

If you have been wanting to create something or feel frustrated in your creative enterprises,  The Lunar Queen also contains the message for you that something creative is within you and wanting to emerge. It is stirring in hour unconscious and soon it will be reflected more clearly back to you and you shall be able to act, but for now, have patience. There can be much inner work required before the relatively swift outer work of bringing the creative impulse into form even begins! Such is the natural creative flow at times.

If you are already in the flow and want to know if this is the time to really let go and shine, like the gorgeous full moon, the answer is yes. Trust and know that you are being guided by your own inner wisdoms and supported by She of the Celestial Crescent, the Lunar Queen Lady Isis.”*

~ By Alana Fairchild

Here we are at the Full Moon and the first Lunar Eclipse of the year. The energies are powerful and anything is possible. There will be releasing; there will be a purging of sorts. There is simply no room left for anything that is not in our absolute highest good, and the Highest Good Of All. Do not be surprised if things change very abruptly, you have probably had more notice than you may think but have chosen to ignore it, or were unable to see the signs. Interestingly, the planets and the moon will align in the shape of a star during this eclipse, and the planet Jupiter will be in retrograde, which will help to slow things down a little.

The message here is to delve deeply into the aspect of the Divine Feminine ~ Receptivity and deep inner wisdom. Allow. Receive. Surrender the old and hold space for the new. Embrace possibility. Nothing is off limits here if it is in your highest and best interest, and the Highest Good of All.

Limitations will disintegrate. Blockages will melt away. Things that didn’t seem possible will seem almost too small to have wished for; you will be asked to aim higher. Things will change in such profound ways that they will simply never appear the same, ever again. You will experience a complete overhaul of your belief systems and what you see yourself as capable of.

The full moon can create a manic, frenzied energy. You are being asked here to create sacred space and to honour it. Find some silence this evening. Make time for contemplation. Perform any lunar rituals that resonate with you, such as making a crystal grid or placing your crystals outside to cleanse and absorb the energies. Light a candle. Have a sea salt bath. Use the power of your thoughts, emotions and intentions. Now is not a time of action, but one of working with the higher realms.

Bringing the unmanifest into the manifest.

Blessings from the Divine Mother Isis.

And so it is

Two Of Pentacles

Two Of Pentacles, from the Tarot Apokalypsis Oracle, by Erik C. Dunne and Kim Huggens

Two Of Pentacles, from the Tarot Apokalypsis Oracle, by Erik C. Dunne and Kim Huggens

Daily Angel Oracle Card: Two Of Pentacles, from the Tarot Apokalypsis Oracle, by Erik C. Dunne and Kim Huggens

Two Of Pentacles: “The universe changes on a grand scale as befitting its cosmic design: Change is its mother; flux its father; you are its child. As a product of the ebb and flow of the tidal heavens, it is your charge to enact change upon the earth and to know the careful dance of balance in order to maintain your center. Though you may be buffeted by life’s tempestuous waves, know that beneath your feet is the very foundation of the world. I teach you the mystery of managing change in the realm of earth, the gift by which you may make the best of this abode of beauty and ugliness. I speak to you in polarities and opposites, in duality and complement, for in the journey between each you come to know the balance of the scales. Yet listen well: balance is not equality; rather, it is found in the gentle shifting of weight from one side of the other, continually, and it is in the unevenness of balance that the world is recreated.”

Mystery: “Dancing on the foundations of change is necessary once we’ve begun manifesting our desires. We’ve met change before, writ large in the world in the Wheel, but here we find it on an everyday level. Here are the ups and downs of daily life, the balance that must be found and maintained in order to manage our mundane world and the fine line between failure and success. Here also is the intricate relationship between our higher self and lower needs, between the divine and mundane in our lives and between our duties and our hopes.

The card image shows a dancer performing a classical Cambodian dance. She wears the traditional headdress of the Robam Preah Reach Trop (“Apsara Dance”) and balances carefully on a yoni-lingam carving. The waters of one of ancient Khmer’s man-made lakes are rough, the small boats riding the waves. Around her flit silver dragonflies, emblems of change. There are many aspects of the card image that symbolize the interaction between polarities and the process of change that is created through this interaction. The focus, however, is on the dancer, as the card’s focus is on the human place within this continual fluctuation and landscape of change. The golden pentacles balanced in the dancer’s hands are facing point-upwards (her right hand) and point-downwards (her left hand), indicating the exchange between the divine and the mundane that takes place on a daily basis. Around these pentacles, in white light, the shape of infinite flux, suggesting that the polarities of divine and mundane, up and down, can be swapped. Indeed, the dancer’s headdress indicates that she, a human, is standing in for a divine being. During the Robam Preah Reach Trop, female figures become Asparas, beautiful, nymph-like divine female figures that can be found frequently on carvings from ancient Cambodian temples.385

The man-made lake – or reservoir – is representative of the polarity between man and nature, here united in an attempt to harness and tame the forces of nature. Archaeologists found a copper pipe on an artificial island in the center of the Yasodharatataka reservoir, built in the 9th century. It is surmised that the king would regularly visit and use the pipe to measure water levels to ascertain whether rice planting could begin. 386 The Two Of Pentacles represents ways in which we try to make the best of all the changes that happen around us, seeking ways to not be negatively affected by them. Like the boats in the card image, we must ride the waves of life and allow ourselves to be carried by change: if we make ourselves rigid and unmoving, we will be drowned.

The yoni-lingam upom which the dancer balances is a sacred representation of Shiva – masculine creative energy – and Shakti – feminine creative energy. These cosmic forces create and perpetuate the cycles of change and generation in the world. The union of lingam and yoni represents the “indivisible two-in-oneness of male and female, the passive space and active time from which all life originates”. 387 In Taoist philosophy, this force is expressed as the yin-yang, which emphasizes that the seed of one polarity is present in its opposite polarity. Thus, the dancer who balances carefully on the yoni-lingam is balancing on the fundamental force of change in the world, on that which contains the seeds of flux. In the same way, we carefully balance our everyday lives in a sea of change, making sense and order in the best way we can of an otherwise chaotic, unpredictable world.”

Revelation: “Constant shifting and flux; small changes in everyday life; maintaining order in a chaotic situation; balance; juggling many aspects of daily life; the requirements of the everyday world all seeking attention; budgeting; time-keeping.”*

There is much needed change coming into your life now… are you receptive to the opportunity that it is bringing you? This is a positive change, even if it feels like it is stretching you beyond your comfort zone. It could be in any area of your life, but you will find that it actually affects many aspects of your life once you fully commit to accepting it.

Do not struggle to hold on to the old, for with this shift comes what you have been wishing for, dreaming about and desiring to manifest. Go with the flow. Conserve your energy. There is no need to swim upstream when you can find bliss in allowing the river to take you exactly where you need to go. Have faith, open your heart and jump right in.

There is a balance here also between the polar energies; the Divine Masculine and the Divine Feminine meeting and coming into balance. This can be in regards to love, relationships, power, or any other aspect of your life that has been previously out of balance. As harmony is restored, acceptance and love become the dominant forces, rather than the push and pull of fear and lack. Find these energies within yourself and you will find them all around you.

Step into the change. Transform yourself and transform the world around you.

Poseidon: “Flow”

“Expect a greater flow of creativity, ease or prosperity. This card is a siren call to protect and enjoy the stunning oceans of the oceans of the world.”

“As gentle as a lagoon and as destructive as a tsunami, Poseidon is one of the greatest gods of the Greek pantheon. One of the sons of Cronus, he rules the sea. His brothers, Zeus and Hades, rule the sky and the underworld, respectively.

He was beloved and feared at the same time. Sailors in the ancient world often made sacrifices to him before a voyage, and fishermen took part in great seasonal rites to appease him. Some rites were as straightforward as singing to him in a storm, while some sailors and fishermen traced his trident upon the shore before entering the sea. Yet other rites were bloodthirsty, matching this god’s violent power.

The essential, defining feature of water is its flow. Poseidon controls the flow aspect with great power. Call upon him when you need a flow of anything in your life, but in particular creativity, abundance, fertility or prosperity.

In modern times, we need to protect the sea more than ever. We have caused many imbalances in our oceans through over fishing and pollution. We need to call upon Poseidon for his help in protecting this domain. Today many organizations linked with the sea use his symbolism. The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society uses the trident as a symbol on its flag as they protect whales and other sea creatures from death.

Surfers, sailors fishermen and anyone who has a deep love and appreciation of the ocean would do well to communicate regularly with Poseidon. He is said to protect his own and will give secrets of the sea to those who honour him. Knowing which surf break is going to be the best or how to perform well while sailing is a secret worth having!”

Shadow Side: “Poseidon is notoriously changeable. Whole armadas of battleships were lost if Poseidon was not on their side, and he would exact quick and lethal revenge if he so chose. Too much flippant change around emotions can lead to drama. It is important to be as balanced in our feelings as possible. While going with the flow is good, being too changeable can lead to instability and not being able to make good decision.

Pay attention to how flow is playing out in your life at present. Be aware that hanging on to a grudge or an imbalance will interrupt the clean flow to what you desire.”

Symbols: “Trident, dolphins, horses”

~ By Stacey Demarco

We cannot control the ocean, we can merely surrender to it. We can go with its cycles, it’s ebs and flows. When caught up in a current, we must ride with it, or we will exhaust ourselves. When things are going well, we can ride the wave. The ocean is a lifeline to our planet. It is filled with an abundance of life. It demands our respect. But it needs our love and care also.

Spending time close to the ocean is healing. Feet buried in the sand, breathing in the salt air, wind whispering… or screaming through your hair. The negative ions help to relieve us of our stress, reset our bodies, calm our nervous systems.

There is magic in the ritual of drawing or writing your dreams, wishes, prayers, creations and manifestions in the sand with gratitude and intention; asking the ocean to bless them and deliver them to Source. It activates co-creation with the Universe.

You could ask Poseidon for his blessings also. Maybe leave a small offering for the mermaids of a shell, crystal, flower or something organic.

Daily Angel Oracle Card: Steam Cave, from the Sacred Geometry Oracle Card deck, by Francene Hart

Steam Cave: “Elemental Forces”

“This card speaks of connecting with elemental forces. The geometry here is of triangles and star tetrahedrons. The illustration was inspired by a hot springs steam cave in which the bather sits in medicinal waters inside the earth and listens to the pulse of the planet as the springs ebb and flow and gurgle. There is a womb like feeling within this cave in the earth, where fire heats water into steam.

You know how this feels, deep in  your bones, though you may never have experienced it. Coming from a primal place in our cellular memory, this feeling holds the power of the elements and speaks directly to the relationship all humans have with those elements and with Mother Earth. Many traditions call in the elements as they begin sacred ceremony. In doing so, a deeper connection is established between the material world and the world of Spirit.

This card reminds you to honor your relationship to the earth and elemental forces, and to ground yourself in the knowing that wherever you go you are always home. Try constructing an elemental altar or placing photographs or art representing the elements somewhere where you will see them regularly. Find a way to honor the earth and her elemental forces in whatever way feels appropriate to you.”

If this card comes to you as Challenger: “You have been at odds with loved ones or colleagues and are in need of the wisdom of earth energies and elemental forces. Call in earth, air, fire and water, and see what that feels like in your body. Realize that the ones you are at odds with are also of this earthly home. Take a fresh look at your situation and communicate from your heart.”*

~by Francene Hart

The five elements are the bridges between ourselves, our Mother Earth and the Ethereal realms. They are our keys to the Ancients; our beloved ancestors, who hold the keys to the Universe. The five elements make up the very cells of our being, and structure the molecules of everything in the physical plane of existence.

Learning to invoke and work with the elements in sacred ceremony assists us to strengthen our connection with the profound wisdom of the Universe; a wisdom that resides within each and every one of us. The elements provide protection, nurturing, sustenance, energy and healing. They are directly linked to our emotions as well as our physical bodies; governing the changes and cycles we experience in each moment. They can give us life, and they can just as swiftly take it away. They must be revered and respected as they are drawn down into ritual just as they should be recognized and honored each day.

Sometimes we may find that we are out of balance, holding more of one of the elements then the others. Too much fire changes our passion to rage. Too much water makes us weepy and needy. Too much air makes us aloof, jaded, over analytical. Too much earth can cause heaviness and stagnancy. The only element that can reign over all others is Ether, the element of pure Love and Light… the life giving Soul energy; although we need the others to balance us out and keep us connected to our physical incarnation in this lifetime.

Connect to and honor the elements through everyday mindfulness. See them all around you. Interact with them with love and respect. Notice them in the natural world. Allow this awareness to increase your consciousness. This is the gateway to enlightenment. The elements are the keys.

Rings Of Time, from the Journey Of Love Oracle Card deck, by Alana Fairchild, Rassouli and Richard Cohn

Daily Angel Oracle Card: Rings Of Time, from the Journey Of Love Oracle Card deck, by Alana Fairchild, Rassouli and Richard Cohn

“Divine timing is granted to us as a gift. Sometimes if we want to be “further ahead” than where we are, that gift can seem like a restriction rather than a generous holding. Much like traffic that moves systematically so that not only one car, but many can reach their destination according to a greater harmony and alignment, we are like individual cars that must sometimes accept red light, and at other times can flow swiftly through many green lights. It is just this way, this systematic flow of divine energy through human manifestation. Your spiritual maturation is happening perfectly, there is no need to bother yourself about timing. When doors open, walk through, when there appear to be no such openings, rest and reflect. The rings of time serve you, beloved.

This oracle brings you a message that the Divine is completely responsible for the timing of every event, opportunity and happening of grace in your life. All you need to do is live your life. Everything else is taken care of for you now. This applies to all of your plans, and the unfolding of all of y our relationships. Let it all breathe and let the divine happen as it will.”

“There is a beautiful silence now

As I hold your hands

And listen to your eyes

Across a span of moments called time

There are no words that say as much

Nor walls that could confine

The wings of our feelings

Or the rhythm of our eyes.”*

~ By Alana Fairchild, and Richard Cohn

We cannot hasten the harvest, nor can we encourage the flowers to bloom faster or the river to flow faster; some things are just beyond our control, whether we like it or not! This present situation is just that; Divine Timing has been set into motion and all we can do is quite literally go with the flow. Everything is in Divine perfect order; everyone is right where they should be. All we can do is surrender the reins with complete faith and trust that things will all work out in the end. This, or something better. That is our mantra.

And as we all know, a watched pot never seems to boil. So it’s a good time to set your focus elsewhere for a bit. Tie up loose ends; take a little break; do something relaxing that you enjoy; catch up with an old friend; spend the day with your kids; get outside for some fresh air and rejuvenation. Know that all the effort you  have put in with your thoughts and actions has created momentum. Things are being created, manifestation is underway, people are on their way to you now.

But you just can’t rush it. Trust is key.

Do what you love to do; time will fly by faster. Pamper yourself; you deserve it. Treat this as a little reprieve, the calm before the storm. Use this time for you. Once things get going, you may not have as much time to yourself as you would like!
