Daily Angel Oracle Card: Flexible, from the Wisdom Of The Oracle, by Colette Baron-Reid

Flexible

Essential Meaning: “Teachability ~ Open mindedness ~ Being adaptable without compromising what is most important”

The Oracle’s Message: “A tree’s roots are solidly planted in the ground, yet its branches can bend in a hurricane… whereas a rigid structure, like a building, would come crashing down. Consider how the tree remains supple and secure when everything around it may be in shambles. This is how you need to be now; willing to learn new things, teachable, malleable, yet firmly grounded in who you are. Common sense is important, but so is an open mind. Stay curious; stay open. Stay aware. At this time, others will be more flexible with you, too.”

Relationship Message: “In every relationship, it is important to be open to new experiences and learning new things. Letting go of rigidity is what is required right now. You do not always have to be right all the time, do you? It is ok to come to a happy compromise – you can still get your needs met. It is a beautiful day when you meet halfway! The appearance of this card in a reading could also signal that you have met someone new who may not be your “type” but who will turn out to be so special that you can easily release your old ideas about what sort of partner is right for you. Be flexible – you will be happy you made that choice.”

Prosperity Message: “Even when you have a clear vision of how you are going to manifest something – what it will look like, who will share in it, and what will then be available to you – you still need to relax and open up to other possibilities. Spirit may have much better plans for you. It could be a job you had not thought of, a new source of money, or some other opportunity that eluded your imagination. Be flexible and remind yourself: This, or something better, manifests for me now. Then be willing to bend a little. Enjoy the miraculous results.”

Protection Message: “When you or someone else becomes too rigid, you lose the access to growth and untapped potential, and find yourself in an “us versus them” scenario. Loosen up, open your mind and heart, and see if a more flexible approach feels better. Rigidity will set you up for a fight where there are only losers and no winners. Could you find a way to bring about a result that is mutually beneficial? Meet in the middle. Spirit makes a great mediator.”*

Loosen up on the reins and go with the flow… or if you dare, relinquish them entirely to the Universe with complete and utter trust. Flexibility starts with perspective, and the only way to gain true objectivity right now is to detach from the drama and fly above your fears. The higher you soar, the smaller they will seem and the more space you will allow for solutions. There will be things that are beyond your control at this time, and will seem like wrenches thrown into the spokes of your plans and dreams. Let the need to control every detail go. There are always hickups, speed bumps and detours in a journey. This is all that’s happening here! A few little distractions along the way to a much bigger and better destination than you even imagined.

Now is the time to expect the unexpected. Know that whatever you can dream up is just the start. Dream your dream and set it free, knowing that as it comes back to you, it will gain momentum, taking on a life of it’s own. Things will look different than you originally projected… but they will all turn out in the end. Have faith.

Keep dreaming: bigger, bolder and brighter than you ever imagined.

Persephone: “Cycles”

“It is time for a change, and it will be positive. Respect your own natural cycles. Be mindful of seasonal changes and go with the flow taking these into account in your diet and activity level.”

“The god Zeus and his brother Hades, god of the underworld, were discussing Hades’s marriage. It seemed that the Hades, eligible in most respects, wanted a queen for himself. Persephone was the beautiful daughter of Zeus and Demeter – the goddess of agriculture – and seemed a fine choice. Zeus promised the hand of Persephone to Hades, and both men were pleased. Unfortunately, Zeus forgot his promise and neglected to inform any of the women! Hades became impatient waiting and decided to take Persephone.

One bright day, as Persephone was enjoying the sunshine outdoors with her handmaidens, she came upon a particularly stunning narcissus flower. As she picked it, she heard a great rumbling. Hades arose from the ground and seized her. Persephone struggled, but Hades overpowered her and took her down to the underworld.

Only the goddess Hekate and the sun god Helios heart her screams. Hekate told Demeter what she had heard. Being a devoted and loving mother, Demeter frantically searched for her daughter but to no avail. As she could think of nothing else besides her daughter, she began to neglect her role of grain giver and earth mother, and so the fields began to die.

Soon the people began to starve, and they cried to Zeus to save them. Helios told Demeter of Hade’s act, and Zeus was forced to demand that Hades return Persephone.

In the underworld, meanwhile, Persephone missed the world above but had begun to like Hades a little, so when he kindly offered her a pomegranate to eat, she accepted it. She had consumed six seeds of the glossy, ruby-red fruit when Zeus’s demand reached them. According to the Fates, if food or drink is consumed in the underworld, one must remain there, so it seemed Persephone would have to stay in the world of shadows. Zeus, however, came up with a compromise: Persephone would spend six months with Hades and six months above with Demeter.

As Persephone leaves the darkness, the goddess Hekate meets her, flaming torches in hand, and guides her back to the blue sky and her mother. Demeter, in her joy, resumes her work with the fields. Life again appears on earth. However, every six months, when Persephone returns to Hades, Demeter grieves and leaves the world barren.

This is a story of cycles, of how things naturally progress and change. In ancient Greece, when a young woman was married, she left home and joined the family of her husband. Her parents and siblings were both sad and happy and the bride often went through a period of adjustment. Although she lost her identity and freedom as a maiden, the bride became queen of her new home.

This story also illustrates how the seasons change, how the earth and its fruits die in the winter only to be reborn in the spring, flourish in the summer and be harvested in the autumn. Change and transition is everywhere, and constant. The natural cycles are something to be mindful of, connect with, and enjoy if we are to gain the most from our year.

Should the lovely Persephone grace your life, it is to remind you that cycles are natural. There are times to feel introverted and extroverted, energetic and restful, happy and sad – none of these is better than the other. There was a time you were a baby, a time you were a child, a time you will grow older – each with its own joys and challenges. Take the time to connect with your own personal cycles and you can expect to reap many benefits, particularly physical ones. Do not expect yourself to be happy just because others are, or ready for the same steps at the same time. Let your body and mind experience your life naturally and without expectation based on someone else’s cycles. Pressuring yourself or others to want the same things at the same time isn’t healthy or respectful of your true self.”

If This Card Comes To You As Challenger: “Resisting natural growth or cycles is not useful to developing a smooth and happy life. It is a natural part of life to grow up and to transform in our minds and bodies, and sometimes that can be a scary process. Additionally, there may be times when we do not want to accept the changes that need to be made, even if they are inevitable, and we may be angry and upset about them. Sometimes we face changes to our family situations, where we live, our relationships, or our schools that we do not like and cannot control, yet we must adapt to them the best way possible. We can learn resilience and be creative with our solutions.”

Symbolism: “Pomegranate, crown, robed woman carrying a sheath of wheat, spring, seeds, flowers”*

It’s natural to go through a grieving process when you have to give something up to make space for something new. Honour this time. Honour your feelings, let them flow through you, this is part of your journey into authenticity. You can’t stuff your emotions anymore and expect it not to have a lasting effect on your body, mind and spirit. You cannot pretend any longer that you don’t care, you don’t get hurt or you aren’t worth more than this. You are worth much more. But you have to accept the lesson first.

What, or who, do you need to release in order to move forward. And if you have been courageous enough to do this, give yourself time to process it. Heal. It takes a little time, it is a natural cycle. Do not let the fear of feeling the emotions allow you to refuse to experience them in all they have to offer you. Feel into it. Then bless and release with gratitude for the lesson learned. This is only a small part of something so much better you will not believe it. Until you make space for it and invite it in. Open mind and open heart.

Anything is possible now as you step into a brand new cycle in your life. There has been a cycle from 2008 to now that has come to an end. Bless, release and welcome in the new with open arms and open mind. This is going to be the beginning of something very special.

Persephone’s message to us is that sometimes we have to delve right into the darkness in order to find the light.

Daily Angel Oracle Card: Amethyst Wings, From The Universal Wisdom Oracle Card deck, by Toni Carmine Salerno

Amethyst Wings: “A heart transforms to amethyst, grows wings and sets flight towards the moon.”

“The amethyst angel has appeared in your reading today to bless you and let you know that the turmoil you are currently experiencing is there to clear the way for a positive transformation.

Amethyst is a crystal that helps transform and transmute the energies that no longer serve us. Your soul has yearned for this transformation and has ignited the flame. Your heart yearns for you to be happy and free you from inner turmoil and conflict.

What is about to be released and transformed is anger and fear which have been secretly stored within the recesses of your heart, so well so, that you may hardly be aware that you have them.

Transformation is in essence change which we instinctively resist. We often have no clear idea what change will bring. Part of us, especially the mind, feels secure in what is familiar and wants to hang on to things just the way they are. Meanwhile, our heart yearns for this transformation, for it desires greater freedom. Your spirit can see the bigger picture of your life and has sown the seeds of change. The message for you today is go with the flow. Struggle not – allow the transformation. Surrender this issue to your angels and trust in their love.

Ask the angels to guide you and keep you safe. Your angels have your best interests in mind – trust in their love and wisdom.

You will no doubt feel a little discomfort over the coming days, and perhaps to a lesser extent, over the coming weeks. It may feel as if your emotions are about to explode and that your world has been turned upside down Persevere.

There is nothing to fear – this is the path to being healed.”*

Amethyst is one of my favourite crystals… I am usually wearing a piece, often as a bracelet or a pendant, and I also carry one in my pocket and have several by my bedside. It is a powerful stone to assist us in releasing old, outmoded habits, especially those which are self-sabotaging. It is also a wonderful stone to amplify your connection to Archangel Micheal.

We are coming to a time of great transformation… how we view this change is how we will experience it. If we are willing to surrender control and trust in the Universe to provide, things will go smoothly. If we hang on to the old and fight to stay put in compromise, things could get challenging. It is time to hand over the reins.

What is it that you truly want in life? Get really clear and hang on to this only, let everything else drop away, including the how’s of what it is you desire.

Work with amethyst and allow it to assist your transformation; it will protect you and boost your energy and angelic connection as it does so. Talk to Archangel Michael, giving him your fears and asking him to help guide you through the necessary change. Breathe. You will be amazed at the wonders that await you.
