Green Tara ~ Supreme Protection: “You are protected. Cords are being cut. Move beyond limitation. Trust.”

About Green Tara: “Legend has it that Avalokitsevara, the personification of perfect compassion, was looking down on the Earth one day and cried tears when he witnessed all the suffering in the world. When the tears hit the Earth, a lotus formed, from which Tara, the goddess of compassion and light, was born. She has many forms based on different colours and we have chosen green in this oracle because she brings a light of protection and safety with her. Always compassionate and loving, she helps us move into a new state of being and doing.”

Extended Message From Green Tara: “You are safe. Protection is all around you. The worst is behind you and you are ready to move beyond the challenges that were set out for you. Cords are being cut between you and the past so that you can feel energetically clear and aware. Do not worry about recalling fearful experiences – they are not going to be recreated now. Just acknowledge them and leave them behind so you can step into a space of spiritual and personal freedom. Green Tara has placed a force-field of complete love and acceptance around you. She is here to tell you that you no longer need to build up walls around your heart, and that it is safe to trust what you feel and who is in your life today.”*

It is safe to step into this new chapter of your life. You may be stepping out of your comfort zone, or you may be fearful because of the pain you have experienced before, but this card is your confirmation that you are on the right path, and that you are loved, supported and protected. There is no need to fear.

Whatever you are used to, whatever you have been expecting to happen, is not going to happen this time. Let all that go. Let the pain and the hurt and the resentment go. This is all brand new and when you look for the best and expect joy, that is what will find you. It’s time to change the lens we see our lives through, or take it off completely. Do not let anything or anyone tell you that you cannot do this, that you cannot start over and be happy and be free. Take the opportunity on offer and fly with it; it is going to lead you in a completely new direction. Fresh new beginnings which will bring fun, adventure, love, peace and abundance to you.

But you must have the faith to take the leap, open heart and open mind.

You’ve got this.

Green Tara

Daily Angel Card ~ Green Tara

Green Tara: Ask others, Including me, to help you, instead of trying to do everything by yourself.

Message from Green Tara: “When you feel resentment in your heart because you are carrying more than your share of the load, you are doing no favours for anyone, including yourself. You need to ask for help to ensure that you have private time for contemplation and rest. One of the reasons why I am able to sit so peacefully is that I know the secret of true productivity. It does not come through struggle or strife. Rather, it comes from a clear and focused mind that is unchallenged by indecisiveness. You see, making decisions is the shortest route to triumphant passages. Once you make up your mind, the rest follows quite naturally. I therefore urge you to sit quietly and follow the footsteps of your mind. Be open to your heart’s meanderings. They will quietly lead you to make your most important decisions, and the rest will fall into place.”

Various meanings of this card: Do not try to be a superwoman or superman. Give your children chores. Ask your partner for help. Accept assistance as it is offered to you. Release guilt or the belief that it is weak to ask for help. Be a team player.

About Green Tara: (pronounced Tair-uh): Tara is a Hindu and Buddhist goddess whose name means “star” in the ancient Sanskrit language. Her many personality ans aspects are represented by different colours. Green Tara is known for being a speedy helper who offers emergency aid and provides rapid understanding of situations and relationships. She rescues us by empowering us to save ourselves.”*

I was intrigued by this card as I am not really familiar with Green Tara and wanted to learn more. Here is some great info from ReligionFacts.com

Green Tara

Green Tara (Sanskrit: Syamatara; Tibetan: Sgrol-ljang), filled with youthful vigor, is a goddess of activity. She is the fiercer form of Tara, but is still a savior-goddess of compassion. She is the consort of Avalokiteshvara and considered by some to be the original Tara. Like Avalokiteshvara, the Green Tara is believed to be an emanation of the “self-born” Buddha Amitabha, and an image of Amitabha is sometimes depicted in Tara’s headdress.

Green Tara is believed to have been incarnated as the Nepali wife of the Tibetan king Srong-brtsan-sgam-po. In Buddhism, the color green signifies activity and accomplishment. Thus Amoghasiddhi, the Lord of Action, is also associted with the color green.

Green Tara is iconographically depicted in a posture of ease and readiness for action. While her left leg is folded in the contemplative position, her right leg is outstretched, ready to spring into action. Green Tara’s left hand is in the refuge-granting mudra (gesture); her right hand makes the boon-granting gesture. In her hands she also holds closed blue lotuses (utpalas), which symbolize purity and power. She is adorned with the rich jewels of a bodhisattva.

In Buddhist religious practice, Green Tara’s primary role is saviouress. She is believed to help her followers overcome dangers, fears and anxieties, and she is especially worshiped for her ability to overcome the most difficult of situations. Green Tara is intensely compassionate and acts quickly to help those who call upon her.

The iconography and role of Green Tara is illustrated in this medieval devotional hymn:

On a lotus seat, standing for realization of voidness,
(You are) the emerald-colored, one-faced, two-armed Lady
In youth’s full bloom, right leg out, left drawn in,
Showing the union of wisdom and art – homage to you!

Like the outstretched branch of the heavenly turquoise tree,
Your supple right hand makes the boon- granting gesture,
Inviting the wise to a feast of supreme accomplishments,
As if to an entertainment-homage to you!

Your left hand gives us refuge, showing the Three Jewels;
It says, “You people who see a hundred dangers,
Don’t be frightened-I shall swiftly save you!”
Homage to you!

Both hands signal with blue utpala flowers,
“Samsaric beings! Cling not to worldly pleasures.
Enter the great city of liberation!”
Flower-goads prodding us to effort-homage to you!

—First Dalai Lama (1391-1474)

I will definitely be calling on Green Tara (and my husband and kids to help me around the house!!) when I feel overwhelmed or resentful, so basically quite a bit….
