This card is a mirror of the goddess within us all. Gaze at her beauty and perfection; her ultimate power and stunning grace. She embodies all; the storm and the sunshine; the rainbow and the waterfall; every season; every creature; nurturing safety and utmost peril. She is fertility and love, passion and fire; water and rainbows; snowflakes and ice. She is the Northern Lights; she is the brightest dazzling day and the very darkest nights. She is all encompassing, she is in every aspect of the world but yet not caught up in any particular part of it. She is rooted in the present as she gazes with detachment into the future. We too are all of these things. We are flesh and bone, yet we are stardust and light.

Since the ecplise season this summer, I have felt the goddess energies flowing through every aspect of my own life. Body, mind and spirit. Do you feel her energy too? Which ever goddess you feel drawn to embodies the aspect of Divine Feminine energy that will benefit you most in this present moment. Expanding into your own personal power is vital for us, as this empowerment will allow us to truly step into our authentic selves. The Goddess reminds us that we are beautiful, we are capable, we are Divine. She whispers to our Souls and if we quiet our busy minds we can hear her words of wisdom. She whispers gentle that we are right here, right now for a very profound experience. A physical, tactile, luxurious experience. Every breath is a gift. Every sip of water is a miracle. Every bite is a whirlwind of pleasure… if we let it be. She is of the Earth and the elements, including Ether, the element of love.

Take a few moments to consciously connect with your Inner Goddess. She is right there inĀ  your intuition. She is gazing back at you in the mirror. She is your foundation, your lifeblood, your strength, your courage. Your love.

You are her and she is you.

Move forward fearlessly with this knowledge safely tucked into the depths of your heart and Soul.

Choice: “Somewhere along the way you have given up your right to decide. This can happen for many reasons. You may have quit making choices under the pretext of being agreeable or putting someone else’s needs before your own. It may be that decision making is too overwhelming right now. You have so many options. Each choice you make can take you closer or further from your desires, so it is imperative that you start exercising your power of choice.

If you feel confused about a decision, evaluate what is going on. Come up with a list of possible outcomes. Make your list as long and elaborate as you need. Ask yourself what is blocking your ability to decide. Are you trying to please someone else? Are you afraid of making a wrong choice? Choosing not to decide, is a choice. Decide to make healthy choices that meet your needs and desires.

A fairy blows iridescent bubbles filled with possibilities. Bubbles represent hope, wishes, dreams and the array of choices you have in front of you. Bubbles may also indicate a need to raise awareness, as there are extraordinary moments of magic appearing to you. The bubbles also represent happiness, amusement and the innocence of childhood. The castle in one bubble represents your hone or feelings of safety and security. The Pegasus is a symbol for raising above difficulties. The Pegasus is a guardian. Its appearance here is an acknowledgment that you are supported in your resolve. Once you begin to make choices for yourself, it will become easier and easier to choose what you love.”*

Sometimes we don’t even realize that we are stuck in victim mode. We have given our power away and are caught up in repetitive patterns, just waiting for someone else to save us. Maybe we have taken on too much. Maybe things never seem to go the way we would like them to go. Maybe we are stressed, overwhelmed and worn too thin by all of our obligations and responsibilities and nothing feels fresh and fun anymore.

Maybe we spend so much time trying to make others happy that we don’t realize just how miserable we are, or how tired, or how uninspired. Maybe it seems like everyone else gets the breaks and we are stuck in a life that we don’t love anymore.

But what we must realize is that we cannot live our lives trying to please other people. We must take time for self-care, even if it feels too self-indulgent. We cannot expect anyone to rescue us, we must make the choices that lead us out of this reality and into something new.

And only we have the power to do this.

Yes it may make someone close to you uncomfortable if you decide to change things. But sometimes our soul has been whispering, coaxing and nudging us for too long. Sometimes we just need to make the leap before we lose hope.

You have a choice to make. Make it from the heart and you cannot go wrong. But know that change is necessary here, and you must put your needs first. For the highest good of all, of course.

Vibration: “It is normal for your energy to fluctuate throughout the course of a day. When you are in the process of healing, it is easy to fall into a period of low energy. Your energy naturally lowers to assist your body or mind with healing. However, this comes with challenges and it is easy to start feeling depressed. This card is prompting you to raise your vibration. Raising your energy, even a little, will assist your healing process.

Elevating your vibration can provide you with a direct link to your guides and higher self. The shift in vibration may help you receive guidance on your healing. Build up and utilize the relationship with your higher self. You will find your conscious mind can recognize and apply the information your higher self receives. As you continue to raise your vibration, you will find you have a better grasp on everything.

A magical fairy travels on the back of a bat, encouraging trust in psychic gifts and faith in one’s abilities. Bats are very sensitive to vibrations. As you raise your vibration, you will build confidence in your instincts. The fairy and the bat are accompanied by moths. Like the bat, moths are nocturnal. A moth usually shows up in your life when you are hiding. This may suggest you have not been facing up to something. You are hiding out and it is time for you to get back into living. Find something that can motivate you. Fill your heart and mind with light and feel your energy shift to a better place.”*

It’s really important that every day we incorporate joy into our lives. We can’t wait until everything is perfect; that may never quite happen. We cannot wait for someone else to show up and bring our happiness to us. We can’t hinge it on our weight, or our partner, or our children or our work. It must come from within. And sometimes it takes a little effort, the mindfulness and determination to make it happen.

What brings you joy? Do you take time to acknowledge the little things that make you happy? Do you take a few minutes in the morning, before you even get out of bed, to center yourself, set an intention for the day, and focus on the positive? It makes a huge difference. Do you commit to gratitude? Sending thanks out to all the good things in your life? Also makes a big difference. If things are not going your way, do you let it spiral you into a vortex of negative energy, complaining to anyone who will listen and expecting more of the worst? Or do you find a way to take it in stride and know that things are going to get better?

All up to you.

Raising your vibration is a choice. It is a decision you make and stick to. And it is possible for all of us, at any time. Even when you think it isn’t; even when you are angry, frustrated, grief stricken, depressed or anxious. It takes effort, but it is possible. Ask you angels for help and know that you are loved and supported. Take a few deep breaths and smile. Give yourself a big hug and keep your chin up.

Barriers: “You have created barriers or defense mechanisms that may be preventing emotional or mental healing. The Universe is eagerly waiting and willing to assist you with your healing, but you may not be receiving the healing you desire. Something seems to be blocking or hindering your restoration. The obstacle may be a protective measure you have put in place to keep your heart from further harm. This shield may seem necessary and logical. However, it is also preventing the healing light being sent to you from penetrating and healing your pain.

Defense mechanisms are a response to being wronged, hurt, rejected, abandoned or abused. You may have made a mental vow not to allow yourself to feel a certain type of pain again. Once the block is in place, you may find it difficult to talk about certain situations or to receive corrective information about your experience. By identifying the root cause of your defense mechanism, healing can begin. You need to be wiling to tear down the walls you have built so that healing can occur.

Smoke comes from the dragon’s mouth as if he might breathe fire at any moment. You have created a similar type of energy with the walls you have built around you. Remember, fear does not keep you safe. Be willing to make some changes. talk to someone about what you are harbouring so your healing process can begin. The full moon shines her light on whatever it is you are ready to release. The turbulent water shows this may not be easy for you to do. However, the same turbulent water can be cleaning and will help you to move forward. The stars in the sky are your blessings. They suggest there are many sources that will help you to become free.”*

If you have been hurt in the past, which I think it is safe to say all of us have in one way or another, it can be really challenging to move forward and open yourself up to something new. We put safeguards in place; barriers to prevent us from experiencing the same pain that we once endured. What we don’t realize is that often our best intentions are actually what is holding us back. The holding on of the pain through the barriers we insist upon is what keeps us from experiencing something totally new. We believe we are protecting ourselves but in fact we are trapping ourselves in the past.

It makes sense when you try to visualize it. See yourself building walls around you after walking away from trauma. Big brick and mortar walls reaching way up into the sky, all four sides covered, all you can see is the square of light in the sky way above you. But now you realize here you are; stuck behind these walls. You can pace back and forth a bit but you are stuck. You can’t see what is in front of you so you can just relive what experiences you have in the memories of your body and mind. Your spirit tugs at you, urging you on but you are determined that you will never experience that pain again. So you stay behind your walls. Just you and your old pain to keep you company. But just beyond the wall is someone with something to offer you. Something beautiful. But you can’t see it; you are too well protected. You will not experience this pain again. They hold our their hand to you, but you can’t see it because the walls are so strong.

But the barriers feel too heavy now. They feel like they could be suffocating you. Holding you back. Holding you in the past to repeat patterns over and over again. They are doing the opposite of what they were put in place to do. You know you are not strong enough to knock them down, not yet. But you could start at the top and take a few bricks down; at least until you can see what is right in front of you.

Maybe there is someone who will help you to take them down. Maybe you have to do it all alone. But until those walls come down there is no moving forward. Until you are free you cannot really experience what is waiting for you on the other side.

Maybe it feels terrifying. Maybe it feels long overdue. Maybe you aren’t quite ready to try. Maybe the fear is just too strong and until you commit to stepping out of your comfort zone you will be held hostage.

As usual, all up to you to decide.

You could try taking a few of the bricks down, maybe once you start it won’t be as scary or hard as you think….

Meditation: “In meditation, we can find the space between thoughts and mind chatter. When you meditate, you allow your mind to be in a state of peace. This shift in thinking will help stop any limiting and negative thoughts you might have fallen prey to. When fearful thinking gains a foothold in your mind, it can take root and become habitual. Expecting the worst possible outcome can become your normal response. It can be hard to recognize and release fearful thinking.

Take a minute and silence your mind. Breathe in and imagine this breath traveling through your body. Take a second breath and ask your body to relax. You are creating a connection with your higher self, God, Spirit and your intuition. Just one minute a day of meditation can provide a mental reprieve from the thoughts connected with illness, loss or low vibrational thoughts. This can go a long way toward healing.

A sleeping woman is surrounded by wintry imagery. The different scenes indicate a connection with your true essence, your inner resources and time when you felt happier. The snow suggests purity, cleansing and discovering hidden thoughts and fears. The goose may signify a need for reorganizing your priorities and the importance of the many blessings you have in your life. As you hold these images in your mind, begin a meditation to see if any messages come to you. Don’t worry or strain. Commit to meditating for a minute a day and increase it as you start to feel comfortable. Find soothing music that helps you relax. With practice, clarity and relief from stress may come fore easily.”

She is in a perfect cocoon of healing and peace. Safe from the outside world, she has a reprieve; a break from exertion, from drama and from interaction, if even for a brief time. If you are feeling drained or over extended, even if you recognize the blessings all around you; it is time to take a break.

Meditation is medicine for your mind. Disconnect from the chatter, from the distractions of everyday life. With practice, you can learn to relax the body while you free the mind from the loop of repetitive thoughts that hold us all hostage. The worry, the doubt and the fear. The analyzing of the past. The anxiety of the future. The battery of the self by the ego that can feel never ending.

Meditation can be active too. If the word meditation makes you feel uncomfortable, as if you just cannot stop your mind for long enough to find the peace, try a moving meditation first. Yoga, a walk on the beach or a hike through the woods is perfect. Mindfulness is key. Work to clear your mind and let everything go. Focus on your breath. On the sound of the waves or the birds in the trees. Soften your gaze and imagine your energy merging with your surroundings. Bring yourself fully into the moment.

When you feel comfortable with a moving meditation, try experimenting with stillness. Sit for 5 minutes a day in silent contemplation, again focusing on breath, letting your thoughts go. Over time increasing slowly minute by minute. Some days will be better than others. Sometimes you will be distracted, that is ok. Let it go and try again. Have patience with yourself. Use music or guided meditations if that helps. Do it for a month and see how it shifts your perspective.

Then commit to it for life.

Give Back

Give Back: “You need an interruption from what is going on in your life. A wonderful way to divert your mind is to give back. Giving back does not have to be difficult. Think of simple ways you would like to help or contribute to your community. This can be anything from donating food or clothing to a shelter to volunteering your time to a cause you feel is important. Giving of yourself will give you a different outlook on what is going on in your life.

Share your volunteering with family members or friends so they can benefit from giving back as well. Sometimes giving back may be close to home. It can mean assisting a family member, giving a ride to a neighbour or running an errand for someone. The important issue here is recognizing that health or emotional challenges can create self-absorption. Helping someone else will provide a break in the daily grind that has become your routine.

There is so much to notice in this card. Pay attention to the imagery that stands out to you. The foxgloves to the left of the image relate to projects, getting yourself out there and the willingness to give to others. The Pegasus bounding above the lady’s head is about clarity of mind. The children, the elder and the peacocks indicate various opportunities that will bring healing to you and your heart as you give to other. There are so many programs that rely on volunteers for extra support. Consider whether this is something you would like to do. If not, there are other ways to give back. The possibilities are numerous and you will benefit once you decide to take this step.”*

It is so important that we all find a way to give back. Even, or especially when we feel we don’t have the time to do it or the resources to part with. It doesn’t meant giving money, unless you have abundant money to give, and then by all means find a worthy charity. But if you do not (yet) then be very careful and discerning about who you give to, draining away your resources is not the same as giving back.

You can give of your time, by volunteering at a shelter, soup kitchen, old folks home or animal shelter just to name a few examples. You can assist a neighbour, a friend or a relative, particularly one who is unable to do something unassisted. You can watch a friend’s children while she gets some rest, or help her to clean her house (believe me, that is gold right there). Walk someone’s dog when they can’t do it, or sit and listen to someone who needs to be heard out. Choose something that resonates with your own heart, and what feels good to you. There should be no agenda, and no resentment. There should be no need for recognition or repayment. Just a knowing that you are making a difference.

Enjoy your giveback. Put your heart and soul into it. Do not overextend yourself, set your boundaries and do what you can without ever feeling guilty. Know that even a few minutes of your time can make a big difference in someone else’s life, and it can help put your own in a new perspective.

Modify: “Work on releasing your fears and learn to affirm the good in a situation. Positive emotions are linked to effort, focus, energy and inspiration. Your emotions and actions influence your body. They can raise or lower your energy and impact your physical body and health. Positive thinking will enhance your energy. Fake it until you make it – that is, you may not feel happy or powerful, but act as if you are. When you make the adjustment and act as if you are happy, your mood will shift positively.

Take steps to create positive changes as you adjust to your new life. Are you holding on to past situations and dwelling on them? Be willing to release the past and let yourself change your thinking. It is important to remember that your soul is having a physical experience. Your physical body is not your soul. Work to embrace this belief and it will transform your attitude toward many things in life.

A maiden flies on the back of a Pegasus amidst birds and angels. It is believed that Pegasus came from Atlantis. He represents the time of new consciousness. The angels bring awareness to how your thinking influences your world and what you have no control of. If you are stuck when it comes to modifying your viewpoint, call on your guardian angels. Angels can help you find the positive in any situation. The group is moving into the dawn of a new day. Fine tune your thoughts, quiet your mind and listen for your intuition. The feathers and wings acknowledge you have the freedom to push through this period.”*

Affirmations can be powerful tools to retrain your brain, your attitude and your trajectory in life. Fake it til you make it basically means start saying the things your subconscious needs to hear in order to create something new… even when it sounds ridiculous to your conscious, ego mind. Do not stop until it becomes second nature. This practice combines mindfulness with positivity and it will help you get from where you are currently to where you need to be.

When we use positive affirmations we help to create new neural pathways in our brains. Where something was shut tightly against possibility, it can open to embrace new possibility. Instead of replaying the past, we invite the future to look completely different. If the emotions do not come easily, keep working at it until they do! You can even say your affirmations out loud, in your car on the way to work, in the shower or on a walk in the forest. Whisper them at night before you go to sleep. Write them down, accessing the power of the written word. Create an altar, collage or vision board, or place words and pictures that have special meaning to you in your God Box.

Basically, do everything you can to invite your dreams into the physical realm by making space for them in your internal reality. Try to see the world differently than you currently do and make different choices than you normally would every chance you get. Mindfully. Presently. With intention.

Change your thoughts, change your reality. It’s not a cliche, it’s the truth.
