Daily Angel Oracle Card: Gut Instincts, from the Chakra Insights Oracle Card deck, by  Caryn Sangster, artwork by Amy Edwards

Gut Instincts: “Intuition. Knowing. Sensing. Trust.”

“In the center of your being is a quiet space of inner knowing. Still your mind so you can connect with the call of your instincts.”

Card Story: “Calm and poised, the lion knows who he is. He responds from the purest form of confidence – a deep sense of knowing. He knows where water is. He knows where to find food. He knows how to go to keep his family safe. He knows when it is time to rest, to play, to sneak, and to run. He does all this without thinking. Without doubt, question or hesitation. The lion is pure wisdom in action because he follows the moment to moment inner pulse of his being and the undeniable call of his instincts.”

Card Message: “Our gut instincts are our soul’s way of communicating and guiding us on the path of life. While our minds produce thoughts and rational interpretation of our experience, our instincts connect to a more sensitive, intuitive wisdom that often communicates through physical sensations in our bodies.  This quiet nudge is our inner knowing, our connection with the Universe. It is always there if we stop to sense it. Do we follow its wisdom?

This card is a call to trust the inner feeling of your own gut instincts. The part of you that may not always seem logical or rational but nudges you with whispered guidance of what is right and true. Bring awareness to your feelings and physical sensations. Notice what happens when you act on your feelings… and when you go against them.

It is time to value the knowing wisdom of your ‘gut instincts’ more in your daily life. To pause for a moment before making purely mental decisions, and check in with the quiet inner voice of your body. The more you tune in to this aspect of your being, the more clearly it will speak to you and the more powerfully you will know how to respond.

Practice this in simple ways, as you travel through your day, allowing yourself to follow your instincts as you journey. Turn left when you feel to, even if you normally go right… go for a walk when the path calls, even if you think you do not have time to do so. You may not know at the time why, but by learning to trust these inner promptings, you will notice that life begins to flow more smoothly and you naturally find yourself in the right place at the right time doing the right thing… a lot more often!

Trust your intuition… and have the ‘guts’ to act on it!”

Where in your life are you living out of alignment? Where are  you compromising? Where are you refusing to listen to your intuition, ignoring the voice of your Soul speaking to you?

Maybe it is out of fear. Fear of change, fear of rocking the boat. Fear of losing what you have, facing something new; or of getting out of your comfort zone.

Your intuition is one of your most powerful tools for guiding you through life. It can tell you if a person, situation or opportunity is for you, or too good to be true. It can tell you if something is not quite right and to slow down and pay closer attention. It can lead you forward or stop you in your tracks. And it is never wrong if you learn to tap into it and heed it’s wisdom.

Are you listening to your intuition? Are you using it as your GPS to guide you? Are you tuning in and really feeling it?

When you feel wary, there is usually a reason. Often it is your intuition telling you that someone is wearing a mask. They may not even be aware of their mask, maybe they have been wearing it for so long that they believe it to be their true face. Maybe you enter into a situation that suddenly doesn’t feel right and you aren’t quite sure why you feel it. Or maybe you are talking to someone and you get a few red flags, but you really want to ignore them because you don’t want to see the truth. Whatever it is, if you commit to listening and following your instincts, it will save you a lot of time and energy… and often money and heartbreak.

Learn to trust yourself. Stand in your power. Find your strength, courage and confidence. Make decisions that are for your Highest Good and the Highest Good of All involved. And do not ignore it when your intuition tells you to turn the other way.

Daily Angel Oracle Card: Courage, from the Whispers Of Lord Ganesha, by Angela Hartfield, artwork by Ekaterina Golovanova, published by Blue Angel

Courage: “The warmth of all your open heart can give comfort to all who cross your path.”

“The root word for courage is coeur, which is the French word for heart. Courage comes from the heart. It is an inner strength, guided by love, which seeks truth and justice.

When you have the courage to be true to yourself, you start to feel empowered to act and live in ways true to your own soul, without any illusion. Ganesha is urging you to let down your guard and stop wearing a mask. Begin to have more respect for yourself as well as others. When you come from the heart, you will find that you relate better to others. Your innate gifts will be able to shine through. You are capable of leadership, achievement and inspiring others to succeed, through your own success.

When you draw this card, it is a sing that your ability to cooperate and thrive in peer ventures with like minded individuals is heightened. Be willing to do what is needed for things to run smoothly for you. Ganesha promises great success if you are willing to let down your walls. He is picture here on the powerful lion, inherited from his mother Parvati. The lion represents the fierce nature of Ganesha. He calls on you now to trust the fearless part of your being, your own inner lion, and invites you to work with him to learn how to be valiant and harness your heart’s great courage.”

It takes courage to take the opportunities we are offered; even when they are what we desire, they may be out of our comfort zone. They may feel scarier than living without the dream we have been so focused on creating. We may feel we are not yet qualified. We may feel we don’t know enough. We may feel that we don’t deserve it. Or maybe we have been treated badly in the past, have not done the necessary healing and worry we will suffer again. So we let opportunity pass us by.

Or, we have to give someone or something up, and even though we know it is absolutely vital, we hold on tight. We stick with what we know, and we let our heart’s down again. We put our masks firmly in place and pretend we are better off anyway. Who needs all that change.

Lord Ganesha is the breaker of obstacles, nothing stands in his way. If you are stuck, ask for his assistance in moving forward in a heart centered way. Ask him to assist you in your healing process. Ask him to help you to take off the mask. Ask him to present you with the courage to make the necessary change, take the necessary action and move forward towards your destiny.

Make an altar, with a couple of candles, a picture of Lord Ganesha, and an offering, flowers or a crystal will do nicely. Burn some incense. Light the candles, say a prayer and set your intention. Know that success is inevitable, although what form it takes could be a bit of a pleasant surprise!

Daily Angel Oracle Card: Conditioning, from the Osho Zen Tarot, By Osho

“This card recalls an old Zen story, about a lion who was brought up by sheep and who thought he was a sheep until an old lion captured him and took him to a pond, where he showed him his own reflection. Many of us are like this lion – the image we have of ourselves comes not from our own direct experience but from the opinions of others. A “personality” imposed from the outside replaces the individuality that could have grown from within. We become just another sheep in the herd, unable to move freely and unconscious of our own true identity.

It is time to take a look at your own reflection in the pond, and make a move to break out of whatever you have been conditioned by others to believe about yourself. Dance, run, job, do gibberish – whatever is needed to wake up the sleeping lion within. Unless you drop your personality you will not be able to find your individuality. Individuality is given by existence; personality is imposed by the society. Personality is social convenience.

Society cannot tolerate individuality, because individuality will not follow like a sheep. Individuality has the quality of the lion; the lion moves alone. The sheep are always in the crowd, hoping that being in the crowd will feel cozy. Being in the crowd one feels more protected, secure. If somebody attacks, there is every possibility in a crowd to save yourself. But alone? only the loins move alone.

And every one of you is born a lion, but the society goes on conditioning you, programming your mind as a sheep. It gives you a personality, a cozy personality, nice, very convenient, very obedient. Society wants slaves, not people who are absolutely dedicated to freedom. Society wants slaves because all the vested interests want obedience.”*

We compromise ourselves to help those around us feel safe. We are afraid to rock the boat, to cause discomfort, to make changes that would seem to only benefit ourselves. Yet often these compromises make us uncomfortable; they make us feel small, helpless and stifled. This can breed resentment and the negativity must find an outlet. Unfortunately, often this outlet is self destruction, trying to numb the pain of not living authentically, which can lead to illness. It’s time to break free of the constraints of others.

Do not fear your own power, you can accomplish anything you put your mind to. No one can hold you back except you. If you are living your life by someone else’s rules, it’s time to reevaluate! What is important to you? If you are finding your powers of creative manifestation to be limited presently, it may be because they are blocked by the fact you are not being true to yourself. It is difficult to create when you are swimming upstream, full of angst and frustration. You must let it all go.

Surrender to the Divine plan. Rise above the drama of every day life and see your own true self… a beacon of love and light. See  yourself free from the restraints that you have allowed others to place on you. Break free from it all and fly.

You are a lion. Leave the sheep mentality behind.
