Green Tara: “The Buddha Of Enlightened Action”

“My Soul informs my every step. I do what my heart compels me to do.”

Who She Is: “Green Tara embodies the emboldened state that overcomes fear and allows us to take action on what we know is right. Tara is a female Buddha in the Vajrayana Buddhist tradition. She is known as the ‘mother of liberation’ because her name is derived from the root ‘to cross.’ Tara assists all beings in crossing the ocean of suffering to liberation.

According to the Tara Tantra, eons ago showed such spiritual excellence and such profound compassion that she impressed a group of monks. They told her that they would pray for her to be reborn a man so that she could reach enlightenment. She responded by enlightening them. She told them that there is no such thing as male and female. The ideas, projections, and expectations that we superimpose onto the male form and the female form are not real. They are contrived. (Form is emptiness, and emptiness is form).

Tara vowed then and there, before all the monks, that she would remain a female Buddha for all lifetimes until all beings were liberated from the illusion that a person’s sex determines their ability to become enlightened.

Tara has four different types of enlightened activity and divine attributes, depicted symbolically through the colors red, white, black, yellow, and green. Green Tara is Tara’s embodiment of compassionate action, or enlightened action. Her green color signifies vigor and vitality, and the purity of our life force, the prana mudra. She is the action we take from a deeply rooted place within our heart. She is the energy that seeks to act in alignment with what will free is as we liberate others.”

When Your Soul Selects Her Card: “Green Tara is that sacred nudge to get moving, to do what it is that your soul compels you to do. Do not sit with an idea or a project any longer; take action on it. Do not think about a friend who keeps coming into your heart; go bring her dark chocolate or send her a love letter. Do not wait to express your love to someone you have needed to, go now – tell the truth. Let your feet be moved by what has been caged within you. Let your wisdom shift into inspired action.

Tara is the message that the time for action is now. There’s nothing to wait for, and no person you need to become before doing what you have come here to do. Start small. Let the soul lead, not the ego. It is not the grandeur of the gesture or effort, it is the amount of love something is done with that ever matters.

There are so many injustices in the world, so much suffering, that it is easy to get stuck in the molasses of helplessness. The brilliant Burmese diplomat Aung San Suu Kyi says, ‘If you are feeling helpless, help someone.’ Green Tara is about aligning what moves us to tears with compassionate action. She is the push to do something, anything that might alleviate the suffering of others. In the process of taking action with love and from love, we also liberate ourselves.”

Soul-Voice Meditation: “What does my soul want me to take action on right now?”

Intention: “My soul informs my every step, I do what my heart compels me to do.”*

This is a message of mindful action taken towards our focused intention. It is about being of service, finding a cause larger than ourselves. Stepping past the social conditioning of the accumulation of stuff as status, and instead directing our energy towards healing on a global level.

Bring the energy of Green Tara into your heart center by chanting the words Om Mani Padme Hum. Feel the high frequency resonance of these ancient sacred words. Feel the power of their healing, their transformational potential. Know that with them you can transcend fear, you can leave hate and discrimination; separation and isolation behind.

Green Tara dedicated her lifetimes to being of assistance to those who seek enlightenment and higher consciousness. Who are willing to move beyond themselves, and who are willing to be of service to others. She sees past the outer shell of rich, poor, old, young, male or female and right into the core of our being. She asks us to consider this compassionate approach to every other being we ourselves come into contact with.

Acceptance, support, compassion and unconditional love.

Om Mani Padme Hum

Lakshmi: “The Goddess Of Abundance”

“I choose to feel abundant. Wealth is an inside job.”

Who She Is: “Lakshmi personifies the splendor and affluence that arrives when we align our every action with what the soul desires most for us. Reverence for the Hindu goddess Lakshmi dates back to the 1st millennium B.C.E. She is known as the goddess of wealth, fortune, and prosperity. Her name is derived from the Sanskrit root ‘laks’ and ‘laksa,’ meaning to know, understand, or to have a goal.

She is the wife of the Hindu god Vishnu and has many festivals that are celebrated in her honor. In the ancient Indic epic the Ramayana, Lakshmi is said to have miraculously sprung from the foam of an ocean of milk churned by the gods.

Lakshmi is often pictured in her iconography holding the lotus. This is symbolic of the fact that great beauty arises from the dark richness of the earth under any circumstances. All that is needed is the auspicious or divine timing for the lotus to come into bloom. Her essence then, is about understanding the goal in life: to realize the abundance of the soul.”

When Your Soul Selects Her Card: “Abundance looks different to each of us. Some people have incalculable material wealth but are bereft of a sense of purpose or a greater vision for their life and so are left feeling lost. While others are considered poor in financial wealth but walk around radiating love and the kind of light that has an inestimable worth. Lakshmi is the auspiciousness that begins to bloom in our life when we align our every action with the work our soul has come here to do.

Lakshmi reminds us of the ultimate goal, which is not making money, but being able to know our true bliss. What makes us feel lit up like a glow stick while we are doing it? What work doesn’t feel like work at all? Lakshmi is a wink to find that vocation, that bliss so that what is within us comes into full bloom through something we can do and show the world.

Lakshmi represents both the gold we can hold in our hands and the gold we can become by doing work that feeds our soul. She is the reminder that true abundance does not come from our bank statement. It comes from a state of mind we enter when we know we are contributing great worth to the world in the effort of becoming more love.”

Soul-Voice Meditation: “When do I feel the most abundant?”

Intention: “I choose to feel abundant. Wealth is an inside job.”*

We often associate abundance with money and finances but it is so much more than that. It is an opening up to receive; an expansion and an alignment with our birthright. It is a feeling of security and love, of balance and equality. Of knowing that there is always enough of everything to go around. Enough to share. Share the prosperity, share the love, share the kindness, share the security, share the knowledge, share the food and water.

Lakshmi reminds us that true abundance is a coming together, it is no one left behind. It is reaching out and accepting what is on offer without second guessing your value or worthiness to receive. It is about stepping out of the lack mentality, away from the victim mentality and into a new story. A story where nothing is lacking, there are no victims and everyone receives equally.

Abundance is alignment with the Highest Energies of Christ Consciousness, Unconditional Love and Divine Light. It is alignment with the Universal energies, the Soul path, the true authentic self. It is a turning towards love and away from fear. A chance to become whole.

And with it comes love and freedom and prosperity. Because when things come into alignment and the struggle is over, it is easy to manifest our desires.

Thank you Lakshmi for guiding me to a state of abundance in every aspect of my life.

Marguerite Porente

Marguerite Porete: “The Mystic Of Divine Love”

“Love is divine, and I am nothing except love”

Who She Is: “Marguerite Porete is the essence of divine love and the truth that all we are is love. Marguerite was a French Beguine born in the mid 13th century. The Beguine movement was a spiritual revival among women in the late Middle Ages that emphasized and imitation of Christ’s life. These Beguines, or holy women, lived together in semi-monastic communities. They were not nuns; they didn’t take formal vows with shared spiritual intention.

Marguerite wrote a spiritual masterpiece titled The Mirror Of Simple Souls. It reveals the spiritual process she went through to be transformed by divine love; ‘I am God, says Love, for Love is God and God is Love, and this Soul is God by the condition of Love.’

By 1306, the bishop of Cambrai deemed her work heretical and condemned it to be burned in Porete’s presence. Even so, it continued to circulate widely throughout the Middle Ages; and in some ecclesiastical centers, it was embraced as an almost canonical piece of theology. Porete was ordered to stop circulating her book and to recant her ideas of God as love. But she refused.

Marguerite was arrested as a relapsed heretic and a Free Spirit, which included the belief that humans could achieve union with the divine. The Catholic Church conducted a unprecendeted trial to decide her fate. Like Joan of Arc, much of her life is recorded because of the transcripts of her lengthly trial. She maintained her truth that the soul has no other will but God’s, and that when the soul is united with God’s love, this state of union causes the soul to transcend the contradictions of this world. She suggested that we can be transformed by divine love into love itself, which isn’t separate from God. And that ultimately no outside source is needed in this transformation. It’s between the soul and God alone.

Marguerite was burned at the stake in 1310. The Mirror of Simple Souls continued to gain in popularity but was distributed as an anonymous text until 1946, when Romana Guarnieri identified Latin manuscripts of the Mirror in the Vatican. Marguerite’s name returned to the text when it was published for the first time in 1965.”

When Your Soul Selects Her Card: “There’s nothing more powerful than remembering that we are love. And there’s nothing and no one outside of us that is needed in order to realize this. It’s between our experience of the divine and our own soul. We can let go of what we think we need to prove or who we think we need to be in order to receive love because we remember that we are love. Then we can stand in that truth, even through flames.

Marguerite is a courageous truth teller. And the truth of her experience is that love alone can free us. Not the love another might give us, not the love of family or of friends. All of this is powerful and significant. But the true source of love for us is in the fact that we are a soul, and that the soul is in union with the divine.

She reminds us when we have forgotten that love is the essence of who we are. And that true love is found within. Marguerite says ‘Love has no beginning, no end, and no limit, and I am nothing except Love.’ This is a time to own and to know this truth more fully. It is the most profound and radical act we can ever take: knowing the love we already are.”

Soul-Voice Meditation: “How can I feel the love that I am more deeply?”

Intention: “Love is divine, and I am nothing except Love.”*

So interesting the story of Marguerite Porete. She and Jesus, to be killed as they come with their message of unconditional Love and acceptance by those who fear their message. She could not have been more peaceful, or more correct in her message of pure love and connection to the divine, yet her message was not ready to be heard. Is it now? Are we finally ready to hear her message?

We are the Love we seek. We are particles of the Light. And when we realize this, really and truly open up to it, everything changes.

Imagine the changes we could make in this world if we all lead with love. If we came together. If we work together to save the planet instead of destroy it. If we realize that we are so much more than what we see on the outside.

That we truly are Love.
