Daily Angel Oracle Card: Grace, from the Tao Oracle, by Ma Deva Padma

Grace: “Ancient cultures throughout the world revered those who were exceptionally gifted or beautiful as manifestations of God’s grace on earth – a link between the divine creator and humankind. Today we call such people “stars,” but what we really revere is their celebrity and fame rather than their individual qualities. To be a true star, however, is to radiate well-being and an attitude that says “I feel at home with myself and with the world.” Everyone, in this sense, has the potential for stardom; it is our birthright, regardless of our physical appearance, social standing, abilities, or the whims of fashion.

Despite what the cult of stardom would have us believe, real beauty and the grace that surrounds it is never contrived. It is a luminosity that emanates from within, ephemeral and ageless, a natural glow that arises from living a balanced life. Like the lotus blossom that appears above the muddiest of waters, the lifelong challenge we face is to transform the dark and the difficult into light, fragrance, and ultimately, the flower of consciousness.

Beauty and our perception of it manifests in myriad ways. For a scientist, it might appear as a flash of clarity when one of the mysteries of the universe reveals its hidden design. For a painter, it could be in the interplay of shifting color or light and shadow in the landscape. A composer might hear music in the night sky or in sunlit waters. The creative impulse in us springs from those moments of grace when all the divergent elements of life seem to harmonize perfectly; when, everywhere we look, we perceive the brilliance and mystery of a masterwork that transcends the knowable. Our expressions of creativity are essentially an homage to the Tao.

Awareness of beauty is inextricably bound with a sense of impermanence. Everywhere in nature beauty is born, fades, and returns again to beget beauty, in a continuous, creative unfoldment. We create many problems for ourselves by wanting to demystify and possess beauty and grace, to reproduce an essentially ephemeral experience and make it permanent. When all efforts fail, as they inevitably must, we become stuck in an impossible longing to re-create what was lost through some contrivance of our own. If we can manage to withdraw from this desire to grasp and possess, the experience of grace becomes a source of inner nourishment that deepens our aesthetic pleasure and joy in life.

Learn simply to greet beauty when it comes, to reflect upon it and become one with it, with no demands or expectations. Contemplate beauty and allow it to infuse your life; you will be beautified by it, and an aesthetic sense will naturally arise within you. Recognize that beauty is fleeing; meditate on the transitoriness of all things, which will kindle in you the desire to be aware in every moment and to give life’s beauty some form of expression. This moment is an invitation to shine and to give of your best, graciously and wholeheartedly. Let your model be Mother Nature, whose elegance and generosity knows no bounds, and whose capacity to beautify is never less than perfect. The beauty of nature is love.”*

Are you seeing the beauty around you in everyday life, starting with your own? Or are you putting it off, waiting for the stars to come into perfect alignment first, waiting until you lose weight first, waiting until you meet the love of your life first? What if you committed instead to seeing every tiny detail of beauty in every aspect of yourself and your external life? What would that look like? What could that feel like? How would it change your life to feel gratitude and peace whenever witnessing the grace of the Universe and Mother Gaia?

When you train yourself to mindfully see the abundance of beauty around you, and its ultimate vulnerability, you start to cherish its tenuous delicacy and elegance. You start to appreciate it more. You slow down and enjoy it’s allure. It feels like a gift… and rightfully so.

On the contrary, if you take all the exceptional beauty around you for granted, and refuse to see your own unique beauty, you block yourself from receiving the Love that you deserve. Life becomes two-dimensional, black and white. There is less to look forward too, less to linger on, less to appreciate. When we shift that perspective, and focus on what is beautiful and wonderous in our lives… that is when we attract more magic.

See and Be the beauty that stars in your own life.

Be the grace that you are.

Persephone: “Cycles”

“It is time for a change, and it will be positive. Respect your own natural cycles. Be mindful of seasonal changes and go with the flow taking these into account in your diet and activity level.”

“The god Zeus and his brother Hades, god of the underworld, were discussing Hades’s marriage. It seemed that the Hades, eligible in most respects, wanted a queen for himself. Persephone was the beautiful daughter of Zeus and Demeter – the goddess of agriculture – and seemed a fine choice. Zeus promised the hand of Persephone to Hades, and both men were pleased. Unfortunately, Zeus forgot his promise and neglected to inform any of the women! Hades became impatient waiting and decided to take Persephone.

One bright day, as Persephone was enjoying the sunshine outdoors with her handmaidens, she came upon a particularly stunning narcissus flower. As she picked it, she heard a great rumbling. Hades arose from the ground and seized her. Persephone struggled, but Hades overpowered her and took her down to the underworld.

Only the goddess Hekate and the sun god Helios heart her screams. Hekate told Demeter what she had heard. Being a devoted and loving mother, Demeter frantically searched for her daughter but to no avail. As she could think of nothing else besides her daughter, she began to neglect her role of grain giver and earth mother, and so the fields began to die.

Soon the people began to starve, and they cried to Zeus to save them. Helios told Demeter of Hade’s act, and Zeus was forced to demand that Hades return Persephone.

In the underworld, meanwhile, Persephone missed the world above but had begun to like Hades a little, so when he kindly offered her a pomegranate to eat, she accepted it. She had consumed six seeds of the glossy, ruby-red fruit when Zeus’s demand reached them. According to the Fates, if food or drink is consumed in the underworld, one must remain there, so it seemed Persephone would have to stay in the world of shadows. Zeus, however, came up with a compromise: Persephone would spend six months with Hades and six months above with Demeter.

As Persephone leaves the darkness, the goddess Hekate meets her, flaming torches in hand, and guides her back to the blue sky and her mother. Demeter, in her joy, resumes her work with the fields. Life again appears on earth. However, every six months, when Persephone returns to Hades, Demeter grieves and leaves the world barren.

This is a story of cycles, of how things naturally progress and change. In ancient Greece, when a young woman was married, she left home and joined the family of her husband. Her parents and siblings were both sad and happy and the bride often went through a period of adjustment. Although she lost her identity and freedom as a maiden, the bride became queen of her new home.

This story also illustrates how the seasons change, how the earth and its fruits die in the winter only to be reborn in the spring, flourish in the summer and be harvested in the autumn. Change and transition is everywhere, and constant. The natural cycles are something to be mindful of, connect with, and enjoy if we are to gain the most from our year.

Should the lovely Persephone grace your life, it is to remind you that cycles are natural. There are times to feel introverted and extroverted, energetic and restful, happy and sad – none of these is better than the other. There was a time you were a baby, a time you were a child, a time you will grow older – each with its own joys and challenges. Take the time to connect with your own personal cycles and you can expect to reap many benefits, particularly physical ones. Do not expect yourself to be happy just because others are, or ready for the same steps at the same time. Let your body and mind experience your life naturally and without expectation based on someone else’s cycles. Pressuring yourself or others to want the same things at the same time isn’t healthy or respectful of your true self.”

If This Card Comes To You As Challenger: “Resisting natural growth or cycles is not useful to developing a smooth and happy life. It is a natural part of life to grow up and to transform in our minds and bodies, and sometimes that can be a scary process. Additionally, there may be times when we do not want to accept the changes that need to be made, even if they are inevitable, and we may be angry and upset about them. Sometimes we face changes to our family situations, where we live, our relationships, or our schools that we do not like and cannot control, yet we must adapt to them the best way possible. We can learn resilience and be creative with our solutions.”

It’s natural to go through a grieving process when you have to give something up to make space for something new. Honour this time. Honour your feelings, let them flow through you, this is part of your journey into authenticity. You can’t stuff your emotions anymore and expect it not to have a lasting effect on your body, mind and spirit. You cannot pretend any longer that you don’t care, you don’t get hurt or you aren’t worth more than this. You are worth much more. But you have to accept the lesson first.

What, or who, do you need to release in order to move forward. And if you have been courageous enough to do this, give yourself time to process it. Heal. It takes a little time, it is a natural cycle. Do not let the fear of feeling the emotions allow you to refuse to experience them in all they have to offer you. Feel into it. Then bless and release with gratitude for the lesson learned. This is only a small part of something so much better you will not believe it. Until you make space for it and invite it in. Open mind and open heart.

Anything is possible now as you step into a brand new cycle in your life. There has been a cycle from 2008 to now that has come to an end. Bless, release and welcome in the new with open arms and open mind. This is going to be the beginning of something very special.

Persephone’s message to us is that sometimes we have to delve right into the darkness in order to find the light.

Wave Of Power

Wave Of Power, from the Oracle Of The Mermaids, by Lucy Cavendish

Daily Angel Oracle Card: Wave Of Power, from the Oracle Of The Mermaids, by Lucy Cavendish

Wave Of Power: “A surge of power, upswing in energy, exhilarating movement.”

The Mermaids Sing: “There are times we, as you say, go with the flow. There are times when we drift, and allow the great Mother to direct us. And there are times when we paddle hard, using all our strength, and ride along with the strength of a great ocean wave, merging with its power and might, being carried forward. When we catch these waves of power, we feel so inspired, so alive, so thoroughly exhilarated and triumphant that we feel we can do and be anything. This is when we begin to work with the power, and use our own potential as well as the force of the ware, and when we do this we can travel vast distances, maintain balance, scream with sheer joy at life, and know we can set a direction that is in harmony with the great source of natural energy. When you receive this card, know that a great and powerful wave of energy is gathering¬† – you must feel it out, find it, move towards it, find the space to take off, and then paddle with all your strength so as to be gathered up by the wave as an ally! This will take courage. No hesitation! No allowing the wave to toss you, to turn you and to drag you under. This is not time for inertia, or “what will be will be”. This is a time to set the course, gather your strength, and working with it – riding it, graceful and powerful. When you have caught it, rise to your feet, as you humans can, or reach out your arms and direct where the energy gathering behind you will take you. It IS your choice. This great energy must not be wasted! This is the time you have waited for! Do not let it pass you by – paddle! Swim! And take off into your glorious, self-determined life!

Divination: “It is time for you to seek out and optimize the power of natural cycles, as a great wave of power is gathering, and instead of being a voyeur as it passes by, watching and observing, as you have so often done, you can now catch this wave, rise up high, and find yourself traveling and moving at a great pace through the many changes you have long sought to make. This is a time of triumph, of harnessing and directing, of asserting your will, and knowing what it is you want. The power is gathering. It will be here soon. Decide now what it is you want – for you can move in the direction of dreams, and succeed, at this amazing, impressive time! Rise up! Because you too have power – and you too are a part of this great cycle. It is a glorious time to participate, and be at the forefront! Feel the force within you match the power that approaches you – together, when fused, there can be a great time of progress and magic!*

– Lucy Cavendish

This card is telling you that your leap of faith is imminent, there is no longer time to hold back or you may miss the wave! The Universe supports you one hundred percent, but you must take the plunge to show your own commitment to your future and your life’s path. When you proceed with confidence, faith and trust, the Divine more than meets you half way, it speeds you along at warp speed towards your dreams and desires.

This card definitely reminds me of surfing, but it also reminds me of skipping in a group when I was a kid. As you stand in line, waiting your turn, you feel the rush of anticipation, knowing that you must time your entry just right. You watch the other two kids turning the rope and try to get in sync with them. As you get closer to the front of the line, you feel that rush of excitement knowing that soon you will make your jump! Then it’s time and there is no hesitation, you tune in to the timing and jump, a perfect entry, jumping the rope perfectly while singing the rhyme you feel jubilant, you succeeded and the next time it’s your turn, it will be even easier.

It’s your turn. You have been waiting patiently for the Universe to make a move, and now it’s time to feel the full strength and support behind your dreams. Your angels are cheering you on. The Divine is guiding you. Undertake to do it joyfully, as this is a milestone to your future success. Success beyond your wildest dreams starts with the first jump.

Go for it! The Universe is there to catch you, set to propel you on the most amazing journey of Light and Love.
