Lady Winter

Key Words: “Frozen, Patience required, Matters developing although they cannot be seen, Quiet and solitude, Dormant period, Withdrawal, Feeling isolated, An indifferent heart.”

Timing card for Northern Hemisphere: December, January, February. (Adjusted for Southern Hemisphere)

“With sleeping butterflies tangled in her hair, Lady Winter makes her entrance, decorating the landscape with frosted fingers. She dims the Sun’s lantern in the sky and, with a goodnight kiss, drops her white cloak across the land as it descends into muffled slumber. The blanket of snow provides insulation, as deep in the earth activity continues unseen.

The Earth’s axis tilts away from the Sun, bringing the shortest daylight hours and the coldest temperatures of the year. The Sun sits low in the sky and hibernating creatures withdraw until spring reappears.

Lady Winter freezes things, so this card indicates a dormant period when patience is required; matters may be developing under the surface even though they cannot be seen at this time. I suggests quiet and solitude, withdrawal, or feeling isolated. In relationship readings, it can reveal and indifferent or frozen heart.

Note the difference here between Lady Winter and the Calendar, one freezes something, whilst the other may delay them, but this also implies slow and steady progress. They are both slow moving cards, but the impact will be experienced differently.

For the Northern Hemisphere, this card covers the three month period from the first of December through to the last day of February when used as part of the timing system.”*

Ah, Lady Winter. Do you feel as if all of your best intentions and well set out plans have been frozen? Is this the start you expected for this year, or does it feel a bit slower than anticipated? I think we are all feeling it. Frozen… either literally or metaphorically depending on where in the world you may be today…

But there are butterflies in her hair, so many of them. Yet they are frozen. Transformation is coming, the frost will melt. Will you be ready when it does? We all know that it can freeze overnight and then the sun comes out and warms the earth so quickly… the snow or ice melts away and we forget it was even there. We are outside all bundled up in coats and wool hats and gloves and scarves… and then suddenly we are much too hot! We must peel off the layers that we thought we would need. Things can change quickly.

Yes, Lady Winter is here but maybe for a very special reason. Maybe this is buying you just a little time before the big shift. Giving you some time to look within and see if all is taken care of. Are there any loose ends that need tying? Any final release that needs to happen? Do it now, for time is short, change is coming.

The new moon is just up ahead. The full moon is looming at the end of the month with the added punch of a super blue moon and a lunar eclipse. Are you ready? Take this gift of a little frozen time and use it wisely.

Interlude ~ The Moral Of The Story Is: “Pause, Rest, Pulling Resources Together. Fact Gathering. Taking Time Out.”

“Refreshments are offered to the Seeker as their new friends share supplies and make room for the newcomer. Once hunger is satisfied, the topic of strategy is raised, pooling resources and information gained so far.

They discover everyone has traveled from different lands as stories and experiences from their journeys are exchanged. The Seeker contributes their knowledge of the Baroness’s domain, gained during their brief capture; amongst the Fellowship is the Songbird’s partner who listens intently for news of his love. However, the exact location of the Dark Kingdom remains elusive due to the constantly shifting enchantments, the Baroness surrounds it with, for protection.

The Fellowship disperses for the evening, but encourages the Seeker to rest and regain their strength. They lean upon their sword and feel the warmth of its energy surge through their being.”

“When interlude appears, it suggests a time for rest in order to gather inner strength. In work or material matters, this could also show that physical resources need to be pulled together or consolidated at this time.

Whilst the Waterfall indicates healing, or going with the flow and allowing events to unfold, the Interlude card is a pause in activity to rest. In relationship readings this may indicate taking a step back, or a time out, if things have been heated or strained. If Waterfall and Interlude appear together, side by side, it can suggest convalescence and recuperation.”*

A little breather here… a little break. A day to do a little research… find out something valuable that will assist you in moving forward.

Do not over burden yourself today if possible; allow some wiggle room. Take a step back from anyone who stresses you out! Even if it means that you get to play hookie for the day! Give yourself permission to do a little recognizance mission, there is something that you may be missing, just a little piece of the puzzle which will make all the difference. There is something that you need to know before you take the next step. Something that will be valuable to take with you into the next new month, September.

Is there a little niggling going on in your intuitive centers? A little red flag you have been ignoring? Or maybe it’s just that you need a little more information in order to inspire you to take a plunge into something new. Only you know how this resonates with you right now. Follow your gut instincts and listen very closely to your intuition today. ASK for a clear sign from you guides, they will be more than happy to oblige!

And who doesn’t need a little rest anyway? Get some quiet time; do yoga, meditate, walk in nature, listen to some soothing music. Clear your mind of clutter and be receptive to what is coming next for you.

Dove: “Slow Down, Pause, And Breathe”

“Take a deep breath… now take another one… then another… Feel what happens in your body as you do so. This is what you need to do in the midst of any turmoil you are going through. It brings you home in body, mind and spirit, to that still place inside you where you can feel and hear your heartbeat and the rhythm of your breathing, giving you the assurance that you are alive and everything is all right.

There is really no need to worry or fret about the circumstances of your inquiry. There is not even a need for you to find a solution. The solution will find you, but only when you calm down and stop trying to figure it out from a place of fear and anxiety. You have to trust that what to do – or not to do – will become evident once you are able to center yourself. That way you can think more clearly, breathe more easily, find your faith, and remember that God and the angels are really on your side.

You are desperately in need of some PEACE! You must find some time to jump off the busy treadmill of this crazy life full of responsibilities and obligations, and take some time to just BREATHE. This is essential for your health and well being; and your body, mind and spirit are begging you to listen to your Soul. It’s time to take a little time off.

Ideally, we could take a weekend off and go hiking in the woods, walking on the beach or digging in the garden; reconnecting to the elements through time spent in nature will do us all a world of good. Fresh air in our lungs will clear out the cobwebs, no matter the weather. Feet on the Earth, palms or spine against the trunk of your favourite tree (or any tree for that matter!) Or if you are lucky enough to be somewhere that is blooming spring, enjoying the eye candy popping up with vibrant colours all around you can raise your vibration substantially. Nature is full of beneficial energy for us, it has everything we need in order to realign ourselves. Body, mind and spirit.

Yoga and meditation are also invaluable tools to help us get away from the chaos. Focused deep breathing and mindful body movement are excellent ways to de-stress and reset ourselves. If there is something that you have been worrying about lately, or a challenge that has presented itself, make a deal with yourself to leave it outside your yoga mat! Keep your mat a place of peace and calm; a place where your mind can take a little vacation from the everyday drama that surrounds you. As you commit to do this, you just may find that your perspective shifts, and those problems don’t seem quite so insurmountable anymore! And just as that happens? The Universe will help you solve them in ways you never even imagined possible.

Peacefully do what you love; the joy this brings you will revive your spirit!
