Daily Angel Oracle Card: Nine Of Earth, from the Dreams Of Gaia Oracle Card deck, by Revynne Phelan

Nine Of Earth

Keywords: “Altruism, Generosity, Charity, Giving, Receiving, Selflessness, Benevolence, Humility, Self-Love”

Key Phrases: “How important are your material possessions? Support a worthy charitable cause. Give away all that is no longer needed. Give without bias or expectation. Heal self by helping others. Skeletons in the closet? Charity begins with you. Address any health concerns.”

Meaning: “The Nine Of Earth represents altruism, charity and generosity.

Have you suddenly found that your life is full of harmony? You are creative and happy at this time. Abundance and true wealth surround you. Material possessions are less important than they once were, yet you want for nothing, and have no need or desire for more. Instead, you choose to serve a higher purpose and give to others who have less.

To help others in need, or to support a worthy charitable cause, is the act of a generous and caring spirit, but who is worthy? Who is deserving? Do you give without bias or expectation? Do you give equally to all in need? Or is your generosity conditional? What is it that you seek to gain from the act of giving? These are also questions the Nine Of Earth asks you to consider.

An act of charity born from compassion can be transforming. To know that you have played a role in helping others can inspire a sense of deep satisfaction and well-being. It can be healing, not only for those who are helped, but for those who help. However, in some it can also give rise to a sense of entitlement and self-importance. It can inspire a belief that acknowledgment and praise should be given.

Altruism is the selfless act of giving. To give without expectation of reward. To give simply because you can, and choose to, and nothing more.

The Nine Of Earth signifies that is might be time to go through your cupboards and remove all that you no longer need and do not use. Give to local charitable organizations that work to help those in need within your community.

And if  you have any skeletons in those cupboards, it might also be wise to deal with them too.”

Potential Blockage: “There is a lot of truth to the old adage that ‘Charity begins at home,’ yet so many people are willing to give to their families, or a complete stranger, a level of care and attention that they are unwilling to give themselves.

The Nine Of Earth as challenger asks, ‘Do you speak kingly of yourself, or are you constantly criticizing what you perceive to be your flaws and weaknesses? Will you generously knit another person a sweater, while you stand there shivering because you have not taken the time to knit one for yourself? Do you have a habit of giving your time to everyone else and leaving none for yourself?

Remember, if you do not look after yourself and treat yourself with the same compassion and consideration that you afford others, this neglect may very well take a physical toll – and how will you be able to look after others if your health has failed you? If you are feeling under the weather, take the time to rest and heal. Address your health concerns, even the minor ones.

The shadow of the Nine Of Earth symbolizes a need to be charitable and kind to yourself so that you can, in turn, be kind and charitable to others.”*

Today is 1~11, a powerful day of manifestation. Anything you set your energy to, you can manifest and today your powers are amplified. Focus on the feelings that you wish to create for the Highest Good Of All…you, your loved ones, humanity, the animal kingdom, the planet Herself. Aim high, go big. Help to create something new.

The serpent represents healing; the butterfly transformation; the acorn opportunity and the cup possibility, prosperity and abundance. The third eye is wide open; intuition, trust in self and the ability to discern; to really see what is going on behind the mask.

What are your greatest gifts, skills and talents in this lifetime? How can you share these, and be of service to others? Where do your passions meet your capability and how can you share in a way that creates ripples of joy out from you and through to others who need what you have to offer?

We are being called to service and the call is urgent. Step up to the challenge with open heart and open mind. We are asked to leave our agenda behind and work from a place of deep knowing and surrender. To give without expectation of return, also knowing that we are always creating wheels of opportunity and that the Universe will always provide. There is no need to let anyone know what you are up to. There is no need to give in a flashy or public kind of way. Just a genuine, behind the scenes approach, knowing that you may be the only one privy to the information of what you have done to assist someone in need, the animal world or the planet herself.

This could mean donating to a charity of your choice, or it could mean decluttering your home and donating to a transition house or homeless shelter. Maybe it means volunteering at a seniors home or spending more time at your child’s school. Maybe there is a family in need right now or someone who could use a little boost of confidence. Or maybe you can just lend an ear to someone who is feeling isolated and alone. You could do a beach cleanup, organize a trip to assist with animals or donate to a charity who assists in the preservation of the planet.

And the flip side of it all is, if you are the one in need, then you do it anyway. Help and be helped. Create the circle with faith and trust. Get out of victim mode and into allowing yourself to receive. By helping others, you shift your vibration and open  yourself up to something new.

And so is begins, this new chapter of your life.

Daily Angel Oracle Card: Nurture, from the Whispers Of Lord Ganesha Oracle Card deck, by Angela Hartfield, artwork by Ekaterina Golovanova

Nurture: “Focus on creating a calm and balanced life for yourself.”

“Ganesha asks you to maintain a compassionate, nurturing, realistic and down to earth attitude when it comes to collaborating with others and your present conditions. You can benefit from being more resourceful and practical. This is a time of slowing down and biding your time and resources. Deal with any issues as they arise, and brainstorm practical and easy solutions that will fix the problem with minimal drama.

Be careful of giving too much, without regard for your own needs. If you have been feeling exhausted or have been prone to illness, you are invited to stop doing so much for others and do more for you at this time. Do not seek empowerment by doing for others from a place of needing acknowledgment. Empower yourself by nurturing yourself and then, from a healthy place, help others.

Learn to nurture and to create occasions for others to grow by offering a safe, accommodating energy. This energy is the energy of the heart chakra. As your life comes more into alignment with your soul purpose, you bring this nurturing and unconditional love beyond your immediate surroundings and out into the world.

The female figure in this card is Ganesha’s mother, Parvati. She represents a strong female figure in your life that you may look to for extra support and guidance. this could be any female role model, friend or acquaintance that you find yourself drawn to at this time. Alternatively, Parvati can represent a part of yourself, especially when much of your time is spent focusing on the nurturing and caring of others.”*

If your energies are feeling scattered, or you are feeling stretched in too many directions at once, it is time to pull back in. We take on too much, we look after every one else’s needs and put them before our own, and we end up feeling exhausted and depleted. Sometimes we do this because we are trying to avoid conflict, sometimes we are seeking approval through making others happy, and sometimes we have just taken on too much responsibility. Maybe we are using looking after others as a distraction so that we don’t have the time or energy to deal with what is going on in our own lives. Maybe we are using it to heal guilt or shame. And maybe we simply find ourselves in that certain stage of life at this time… having young children, aging parents or a new business that just takes up all our time and energy.

If possible, take some time for self-care. Take a break from all that you have going on in your life; and from the worries and stress these people or issues may create. When we take a little break, it not only assists us physically and emotionally to recharge our batteries and build up our strength and energy stores; it also helps us to shift our perspective.

Seek the counsil of a a “wise elder,” someone who has been through what you have been through, and can either help you or give you some sage advice. Accept help when it is offered, and do not feel guilty for needing assistance. Do some research and see if you can find a simple solution to streamline any challenges without allowing them to throw you too far off track.

Ganesha is the breaker of obstacles and he is here to assist us in finding a simple, accessible path on our journey. Ask him to stay by your side and show the way.

Durga ~ Boundaries

Durga ~ Boundaries

“When threatened by demons

I fiercely protect myself

with all that I am

with all that I have

from deep within

I call forth all that I need

I am the “Inaccessible”

for I place myself beyond the reach of all that would destroy me

all that would annihilate me

all that tries to wound me

I am the “unapproachable”

for nothing can get at me that I do not willingly let in

I dance my dance of oneness

only with what supports me

nurtures me

loves me

For all that does not

I say: approach at your own risk!”

Mythology: “Devi is what the Goddesses is called in India. To the Hindu, all Goddesses are one goddess, different aspects of Devi or the Divine Feminine. An aspect of Devi was called into being to rid the world of the evil demon Durga (pronounced der’gah). In the battle between the Gods and the anti-gods or demons, none of the Gods could destroy Druga, so they went to Devi and asked for help. Mounting a tiger and brandishing her fearsome weapons, she attacked the demon, who changed from one terrifying form into another until Devi slew him when he transformed into a buffalo. IN remembrance of the great battle, Devi took the name of Durga.”

Meaning Of The Card: “You have called Durga into your life to help you to create boundaries. *(I define boundary as a shield or skin surrounding you that allows you to choose what you take in. All life happens outside of your boundary; you witness it and decide what you are going to take in to nurture yourself).

What are you taking inside that should remain outside? How are  you not protecting yourself, your life, your time? Is the statement “NO, I can’t do this right now, I need to care for myself,” part of your vocabulary? Perhaps you feel dumped on by others. Are you feeling pulled off center by demands to give and give and give till there is nothing left for yourself? Durga is here to assist you in nurturing wholeness b y creating and fixing the limits of your personal space. Establishing clear boundaries is an act of self-love. Having no boundaries gives others the message that you are limitless and want to be treated in a limitless way. No one is limitless; there are places where we get hurt, places where we are vulnerable, places that need to be treated with care. Durga says that boundaries are vital because they let others know who you are and where you stand.”*

~by Amy Sophia Marashinsky and Hrana Janto

It’s a common misconception that to be a Lightworker, you must give and give and give of yourself until there is nothing left. It is not about putting absolutely everyone before you, to the detriment of your health, sanity or well being. And it is not about putting others needs above your own. You are so much more valuable to the world full of energy and vitality; not drained, exhausted and stressed out.

Sounds simple enough, but believe me, as I write this, do I live it? Those who know me will laugh and tell me that I should actually read this stuff that I write, and while I am at it, I should take my own advice too! Yes, I get it, this message is for me, just as it is for you. We need boundaries! Big time!

There are several simple ways of protecting ourselves energetically, and two of my favourites are: Number one: creating a big beautiful bubble of white light and love all around us before we get out of bed, and strengthening it throughout the day whenever we start to feel drained, stressed or know that we are around negativity of any kind. Number two: wearing black tourmaline or black obsidian, yes, I love my crystals! I often wear a black obsidian bracelet on my left wrist to help filter out any negative energy; I also have a black tourmaline pendant that I place over my heart or solar plexus chakra if I know I am going to be in a crowded place or stressful situation. These stones can also be placed around a room or office to help filter the energy. Shungite can be also be used to alleviate the mental and physical stress of being surrounded by technology but requires frequent clearing.

The other great way to create boundaries is to manage your time. Allow yourself some precious down time every day, and do not relinquish this unless it is an absolute emergency! Do your yoga, meditate, get out in the forest or go to the beach and BREATHE! You deserve it! Do it every single day for at least a few minutes, you will be a better person/parent/friend/spouse if you take time to yourself every day.

Lastly, learn to say no. If this is a tricky one, start with little things and work up from there, you simply cannot take it all on. And when you say no? Release all guilt and stick to it. This will empower you to make more “no” decisions in your future and you will find yourself doing less of what stresses you out. Obligation leads to repressed feelings, anger and resentment. Let it go, let someone else take up the slack for once. Maybe then they will appreciate just how much you have been doing!

Spider ~ Community and Web-Weaving

Daily Angel Oracle Card: Spider ~ Community and Web-Weaving, from the Halloween Oracle Card deck, by Stacey Demarco

Spider ~ Community and Web-Weaving:

“She spins her silk alone

In the dark with hope of collection

Sticky with dreams,

weaving the worlds

A wide web of connection.”

“Masses of sticky spider webs make any Halloween decorating complete. The idea of a haunted house covered in the “artwork” of a big, hairy spider is classic horror. Even those of us who appreciate our eight legged friends still hurriedly brush off those stealthy webs if we run into them in the dark!

Although most spiders are not venomous, humans have an innate fear of them. Perhaps it is the fangs or the poison. Perhaps it is all those legs and the way they move. Perhaps it is where they live – often in dark, hidden places – or the way our western, popular culture has demonized them by making them giant, fierce and man eating! Some cultures though, revere the spider in very positive ways. In many Native American traditions for example, the spider is the creature that gives birth to all other animals and sustains the web of life. The Goddess Spider Grandmother (and there is also a Spider Woman) is a key deity that brings wisdom, safety and communication to all the tribes. She created and wove all the stars in the sky and makes soft webs for those that are troubled to rest upon and be supported by.

Spiders’ webs can be seen as a symbol of connection, not necessarily entrapment. There is a fine line sometimes between a family or community supporting us and controlling us. This card looks at this discernment. It also suggests you review the way you communicate with the wider community, at work or generally with others and take steps to improve this or do it slightly differently. It also indicates that there needs to be a balance between what you do for yourself and what you do for others… if we give too much to the outside, our strength diminishes and we cannot weave the supporting web for ourselves.”*

~by Stacey Demarco

Even if you are not a fan of spiders, they do carry an important message. I myself have been working hard on making peace with my childhood fear of spiders. We have an agreement, I practice the spider relocation project if I find them in the house, and they agree not to bite us. So far, so good.

Spider represents the intricacy of life, the threads that join us all together… the six degrees of separation theory if you will (where everyone is somehow connected through someone else, somehow!) Spider also represent your purpose in it all, a single thread in a web of many. Interesting if you think that the internet is called: World Wide Web this is for a reason! It allows us to connect from anywhere in the world to anyone in the world if they are also “on the web.” Fascinating really!

So where do you fit into your current community? Are you feeling supported by your web? Or are you feeling as if the strings are wearing thin? Are you caught in someone else’s web, and if so, how can you strengthen your own so you don’t need theirs anymore? Are you feeling dexterous and creative; free to create the web of your dreams? When you can find the answers to these questions, you can connect to spider medicine. You can be a strong thread in the web of life; as you create a strong web of your own.

And here we are; alone yet part of something so big, so beautiful, so full of light.

The spiral of life; full of magic and mystery.

The web of life.
