Daily Angel Oracle Card: The Lovers ~ Swan, from the Animal Totem Tarot, by Leeza Robertson artwork by Eugene Smith

The Lovers ~ Swan: “Come be with me and let me marvel in the You that is all magnificent. When we come together it is not so that we can fill something in each other, but instead, stand in our own glory and know that together we can create something magical. Let the contrast of our individual states create the perfection in our togetherness.”

~ Message From the Swan

“I think most of us are aware of the ugly ducking story, which is really the story of one’s inner self taking its time to manifest in to the outer experience. During this phase of outer evolution the Swan must trust that there is nothing missing in its life and that who it is, is perfect by natural design, regardless of the outer reflection others see. This element of inner beauty and inner wholeness is crucial to the power of the Lovers card. For it matters not what sort of energy you are working to partner with. It only matters how you see yourself as a mate or partner. Do you have the ability to be whole and present with that which you are attracting? Or are you negating the very thing you are trying to attract? The Lovers card asks you to look not at what you can obtain from someone or something else, but how you can rejoice in it. Learn how to stand in your own power while reveling in the power of those around you.”

Business and Career: “When it comes to business, it is easy to forget that you have something to offer those around you, and not the other way around. If you want or need something from someone else, first you must find out how you can be of benefit to them. This will showcase your talents in ways others will never forget. And isn’t that what you want in a business relationship? To be unforgettable for all the right reasons?”

Family and Relationships: “The Swan represents the element of unconditional love: Love of self and love of others. It does not place one over the other or negate love by wrapping it up in a bow of expectation. Swans pick one life partner and one only, through it is not the singularity of their choice that is relevant, but the commitment they have to the choices they make. When you look at your relationship, can you say you are just as committed to your choices?”

Health and Well-Being: “The ugly duckling story is a fantastic metaphor for the relationship you have with your body. If you see it as broken or stupid or constantly failing you, then it will be almost impossible to transform it into the body you dream of having. In order to bring the energy of the Lovers into your healing practice, you need to first build love inside of yourself. Show your body you love it and are truly grateful for all it does for you. Build on this vortex of gratitude, and before you know it you will have transformed your body from the ugly duckling to the beautiful Swan that was there all along.”

Card of the Day Journal Prompts:

~How do you wish to be loved?
~Where are your expectations limiting your experience with those around you?
~How can you be more like the person, place or thing you are working to attract?”*

Here we have a reminder of the duality within each of us: Dark and Light, ego and Soul, Male and Female. The two together form a perfect heart shape. We must balance the two to find true love. We must become the balanced one to attract the other balanced one. We must find equality and acceptance first within ourselves. We must have the commitment to Unconditional Love within if to truly experience it with another. We yearn for the Yin to match our Yang, or vise versa… yet if these are out of balance in our lives, we cannot balance them within a relationship involving another.

Whether you are single or in a relationship presently, there is big love coming to you; a deeper and more profound connection. But it must start with you. If you are to strengthen the connection with someone whom you already love, you must clear out and heal your past pain. You must experience forgiveness and compassion first for yourself, and connect with the deep love within. This is the gateway. This is the door waiting to be flung open. If you are single, the door resides within your own heart, seeing your own self worth as well as being open to accept another for who they are and all they have to offer. All this being comfortable being your true authentic self and knowing who you are and how much you have to offer. Finding joy in your own presence and shining your light out into the world. Appreciating others for shining theirs.

If you struggle with self-image, ask your angels and guides to assist you in your inner work. Set the intention to heal your heart, and then dare to open it wide. Find your groove. Appreciate all that you are, the unique gift that is you. And put it out there that someone very special will see it too.

Swan ~ Grace: “Appreciate the Beauty, Inside and all around you.”

“Look up at the stars tonight. Smell the fragrances in the air. Greet the sunrise tomorrow. Hear the sounds of Mother Nature’s creatures as she awakens for the day. Look and really see the beauty and elegance of everything, from the tiniest leaf to the most gigantic tree, and all that is in between. Do not judge what you see or experience as good of bad; instead, appreciate the precious uniqueness of the diverse elements that make up this wonderful world in which we exist.

You really need to get outdoors in nature to deepen this experience of appreciation. Mother Earth is your true mother – you are birthed from her through your biological mother. Honour her by simply reveling in the remarkable tapestry of her diverse expressions, and as you do, breathe deeply and slowly. You and your world are intimately interwoven, and you are alive in that world. Appreciate your own beauty and the magnificent being that you are as you revel in the elegant exquisiteness of all that you see, hear and feel.

Additional Associations:
Peace; Elegance; Purity, Innocence.”*

Are you seeing your own true beauty? Or could you be hung up on petty physical issues that are taking up too much of your time? Do you see that what you are here on the physical plane is like the tip of the iceberg, that there is so much more to you than what meets the eye?

We are trapped in the beliefs of our society thanks to a troublingly powerful media. Are we really better people if we have perfect bodies and fabulous hair? Do we really base how we feel about each other by whether we have wrinkle free faces and perfect nails? Or are we being brainwashed to believe that the models, actors and sports stars are better than us because of their ability to afford hours of personal trainers, plastic surgery and expensive clothing? Why did we buy into thinking that in order to be a “hot” mama, we have to be thinner after having a baby than before? Do we respect our elders if they choose to grow old gracefully, forgoing plastic surgery and hair colour for a natural appearance, or have we set up unrealistic expectations for the aging population? What expectations do you hold for yourself physically, and how does that affect how you value yourself?

Swan is here to remind us that we are so much more. We are being asked to release all old beliefs about our own self worth according to the way we see ourselves physically. We are being asked to gaze into our eyes and see our beautiful Souls instead of any perceived flaws. We are being asked to hold compassionate and loving space in our hearts for ourselves and the bodies we currently occupy. These bodies are what we make them, they are always capable of change and they are always capable of healing. They are our chariots in this present reality and we will do ourselves a world of good lovingly and unconditionally accepting them. They have held all of our pain and anger and emotion, they have taken us to places we have longed to go, they have taught us lessons… whether we wanted to learn them or not!

Breathe deeply, look in the mirror and silently or aloud send love right into your own eyes. Send gratitude, compassion and complete acceptance. Pull healing light down from the Universe and bathe this body of yours; bless it with love and healing. Ask Archangel Jophiel to work closely with you in finding peace and acceptance with your physical body and assist you in seeing your own Divine inner light. Ask Archangel Raphael to heal any issues you are having with your physical body, and release any harmful or angry thoughts you may have been having regarding your body. Decide to see the beauty in every person, every creature, every flower and tree, every star.

Starting with your own.
