You vs The Grocery Store:
I’ve decided that one of the most frightening places on the planet today is a grocery store. The responsibility of providing daily healthy meals for my family is a daunting task. I try to go for local whenever possible, the whole 100 mile diet is really appealing, especially here in BC, where they are pretty conscious about pesticides. Next I try for organic and from Canada, thirdly just from Canada. I skip the imported stuff unless I really need something for a recipe. If imported, it needs to be organic.
Lurking in the middle isles are foods known to cause horrendous disease and decay. Packages proclaiming to contain “all natural ingredients” only to have a bunch of crap I can’t even pronounce in the ingredient list. I try to stay mostly to the outside isles, although there is a lot of controversy as to whether dairy or meat should be included in our diets too, and no packaged stuff, no gluten, and no processed foods. What about fish, are we worried about lead and mercury? How about radiation? Doesn’t leave much does it?
What I find the most disturbing is watching other shoppers filling their carts with things I wouldn’t in my wildest dreams imagine buying, never mind giving to my family. I watched a man in his fifty’s today move his bag of frozen fries and packaged burritos put three six packs of Pepsi 500ml bottles into his cart. It was all I could do not to intervene. How could he do that to his body? Doesn’t he see his unhealthy pallor, and huge gut?
I sound judgemental don’t I? Well the thing is, is that I feel genuine concern for these people. I want to save them, but they don’t want to be saved. But if people aren’t willing to try a major change in lifestyle, they don’t want to hear just how fabulous it is. Survival of the fittest is a choice in our society.
I learned this working with the best supplement company on the planet, Isagenix. The products are all natural, no artificial colours, sweeteners, fillers or additives. Hormone and antibiotic free whey protein with no casein or lactose. Pretty awesome stuff, check it out here:
The company is dedicated to help rid our bodies of toxins while providing the highest nutrition possible. Finally, fast food I can feel good about giving to my kids! It takes 30 seconds to make a shake, which they split every morning and the LOVE it! All the protein, vitamins and minerals they need to help them through their morning, and building blocks to muscle and brain development. I also give my daughter a meal replacement bar when she’s off to skate for 90min, and now she doesn’t come off the ice half way through her lesson starving. It’s made a huge impact on our lives.
I personally lost 26lbs in 2011 doing 4 consecutive 30 day systems. I still take two shakes a day with healthy snacks and a healthy dinner, plus the vitamins, Ionix Supreme and Cleanse for life. Here’s the info:Isagenix President’s Pack. Any questions? Feel free to message me!
