Dove: “Slow Down, Pause, And Breathe”

“Take a deep breath… now take another one… then another… Feel what happens in your body as you do so. This is what you need to do in the midst of any turmoil you are going through. It brings you home in body, mind and spirit, to that still place inside you where you can feel and hear your heartbeat and the rhythm of your breathing, giving you the assurance that you are alive and everything is all right.

There is really no need to worry or fret about the circumstances of your inquiry. There is not even a need for you to find a solution. The solution will find you, but only when you calm down and stop trying to figure it out from a place of fear and anxiety. You have to trust that what to do – or not to do – will become evident once you are able to center yourself. That way you can think more clearly, breathe more easily, find your faith, and remember that God and the angels are really on your side.

Love; Soul; Domesticity; Spirituality”*

You are desperately in need of some PEACE! You must find some time to jump off the busy treadmill of this crazy life full of responsibilities and obligations, and take some time to just BREATHE. This is essential for your health and well being; and your body, mind and spirit are begging you to listen to your Soul. It’s time to take a little time off.

Ideally, we could take a weekend off and go hiking in the woods, walking on the beach or digging in the garden; reconnecting to the elements through time spent in nature will do us all a world of good. Fresh air in our lungs will clear out the cobwebs, no matter the weather. Feet on the Earth, palms or spine against the trunk of your favourite tree (or any tree for that matter!) Or if you are lucky enough to be somewhere that is blooming spring, enjoying the eye candy popping up with vibrant colours all around you can raise your vibration substantially. Nature is full of beneficial energy for us, it has everything we need in order to realign ourselves. Body, mind and spirit.

Yoga and meditation are also invaluable tools to help us get away from the chaos. Focused deep breathing and mindful body movement are excellent ways to de-stress and reset ourselves. If there is something that you have been worrying about lately, or a challenge that has presented itself, make a deal with yourself to leave it outside your yoga mat! Keep your mat a place of peace and calm; a place where your mind can take a little vacation from the everyday drama that surrounds you. As you commit to do this, you just may find that your perspective shifts, and those problems don’t seem quite so insurmountable anymore! And just as that happens? The Universe will help you solve them in ways you never even imagined possible.

Peacefully do what you love; the joy this brings you will revive your spirit!

Daily Angel Oracle Card: Shark, from the Messages From Your Animal Spirit Guides, by Stephen D Farmer

Shark: “Trust your instincts to discern the truth of the situation”

“Your instinctual self is that aspect of you that sends signals to your brain directly from your body. It is what is responsible for your survival – particularly when you are in a life threatening situation and must avoid danger by fighting, fleeing, or remaining still and quiet. Your instinct dictates which choice most likely ensures your perpetuation. It is much more primal than intellect, and it is what connects humans with other animals.

The trust for your instinctual signals can be modified and distorted by conditioning, especially childhood conditioning. When you are repeatedly told to distrust what your body is telling you or you have faced life threatening situations, with no escape, this exquisite survival mechanism becomes clouded at the least and completely suppressed at the extreme. It is replaced by either a generalized fear and agitation that gets projected onto relatively benign situations, or else a psychic numbness that anesthetizes the senses and severely limits your body’s ability to process environmental cues for danger. This sensory numbness also limits your ability to fully experience pleasure.

Take time to tune in to your gut feelings, using slow, deep breathing as an access code. Listen with all your senses to discern what your body is telling you, and use your intellect to interpret whether it is a conditioned reaction or an instinctual response. With practice, you will refine your perceptual capabilities so that you can completely trust what you feel.

Associations For This Card: Confidence; Secrets; Protection; Respect; Survival; Authority; Focus; Action; Unpredictability; Solitude; Endurance; Assertiveness; Divinity.”*

Every limitation that we encounter can be traced back to our perception of ourselves. We set our own limitations. Period. However, in setting them, we have taken into account all the information we have gathered not just over this lifetime, but over our many lifetimes. Some of this information may be perceived as negative. Some of it may just have come from little snippets of things that people have said to us long ago; things that they may or may not even remember saying; things that we have held on to for our whole lives. These things need not affect us any more, we must let them all go and start fresh.

If we do not let the past hurts go, we use them as shields to protect us from our present experience. We assume when offered a new opportunity that things may turn out the same as they did in the past. We give away our power as we don’t trust ourselves to make healthy decisions. We fight anxiety and experience fear when we go against the “red flags” put out by our bodies.

We must believe in ourselves; strengthen the connection to our intuition. We must take back our power and trust in our instincts. They will never let us down if we truly listen. They will always guide us on our highest path.

All we need to do is listen.

Lizard ~ Dreamtime

Daily Angel Oracle Card: Lizard ~ Dreamtime, from the Power Animals Oracle Card deck, by Stephen D Farmer

Lizard ~ Dreamtime: “Pay attention to your dreams and visions”

“There is a place underneath the conscious mind, below the instinctual self, where one’s usual identity is dissolved and you are pure witness, observing your experience from a completely detached perspective. This place is called the dreamtime, where all apparent boundaries between self and other disappear. What remains is unadulterated awareness, specific to you, yet at the same time expanded into the boundless universe.

In this place that is at the very core of your experience, you also profoundly comprehend that you are simultaneously a body and something much greater than merely a body. The dreamtime is a place where there is no sense of boundaries between your body and surroundings. In this mystical, surreal state of pure experience, you are always guided and protected by the wise and ageless inspiration of Spirit. Your dreams and visions are the window into this absolute reality, so watch your dreams closely and pay attention to your visions. They will always guide you and lead you, but most especially at this time

Additional Associations For This Card: “Primal ~ Ancient ~ Reflexive ~ Spontaneous”*

~by Stephen D Farmer

Do we stay in our physical bodies when we dream at night? Or do we move away into another realm, an alternate reality or a higher dimension in our astral or light body? We used to think that dreaming was due to an over active imagination, or a processing of situations that we were experiencing in our everyday waking lives. Now, we are learning that we can glean vital information from the Universe during this beautiful and special time.

We can even take it one step further and practice Lucid dreaming; where we can link our conscious to our subconscious mind and control our dreams from the inside. This can be an ideal time to seek answers; strengthen our intuition and heal past wounds. We can also communicate with passed over loved ones or pets, our angels and guides or other high dimensional beings. There is no limit what so ever to what is possible in our dreamtime. We must focus all of our attention and set the intention to work with our dreams, rather than just experiencing them like a movie playing on a screen in our mind’s eye. It’s all about perspective.

Experiment with setting simple intentions as you fall asleep at night, and keep a dream journal to record your dreams. Setting the intention will help you to be more aware of your dreams; you could set the intention to connect with a certain person or being; go to a specific place; or even decide that you will see your dreamscape in full detail. Upon waking, be sure to take a couple of quiet minutes (yes, I know, believe me, this can be tricky if you have little kids!! Just do your best!) and write down anything and everything in point form. Every little detail counts. Over time, you will be able to decipher your dreams, see patterns and expand your awareness around the information you are receiving during this amazing time. You can even place an amethyst crystal under your pillow to assist you in retaining memory of your dreams, or clear quartz to amplify the dreaming process.

Have fun with it, go in without fear, with an open mind and open heart. Keep your intention to learn; for the Highest Good of All.

And so it is.

Daily Angel Oracle Card: Snow Leopard, from the Messages From Your Animal Spirit Guides Oracle Card deck, by Stephen D Farmer

Snow Leopard: “Take some time out from your usual life and spend it in solitude.”

“It can be difficult these days to spend time in solitude – to unplug, get off the electronic grid, and find a quiet place in or near Nature – yet is is so important to do so at this time. Turn off the phone, computer and television, if only for a few hours. Although you may feel a little anxious and restless when you first do so, these feelings will pass. Use this time for contemplation and meditation. It is not isolation; it is solitude. Solitude is a conscious and loving choice to be alone for a period of time, while isolation is a habitual and reflexive coping pattern to avoid discomfort and intimacy. If possible, take a full day by yourself, and just do whatever you feel like doing. Whatever length of time you spend in solitude, be sure to write as often as you can in your journal.

If you should feel guilty or anxious about the thought of doing this or even while you are actually doing it, use your breath to help you to relax. As much as you possibly can during the period of alone time, remind yourself to breathe and relax. Whenever you notice your breathing becoming shallow, take three or four slow, deep breaths and watch how your tension and anxiety dissipate. enjoy the feeling of having the sacred space of solitude surrounding you. And remember: You are never really alone.”

Associations For This Card: Solitude; Self-reliance; Balance: Silence: Stealth: Confidence; Determination; Perseverance; Containment; Sensitivity; Intuition; Reliability; Mysterious; Integration; Shamanism.”*

~by Stephen D Farmer

It’s time to unplug again for a bit, gain some perspective. We are so over stimulated, and overburdened, stressed and overwhelmed. It’s all part of the conspiracy. Keep us so completely distracted; keep us from connecting to the Divine. Yes, the electronic world has it’s place, but balance is vitally necessary. We must have both: the natural, spiritual connection to Mother Gaia and all of her creations; and we must have a way to communicate information faster and faster as we accelerate our awareness and consiousness. How else will we achieve One World being?

But for now, we must unplug from the phones and ipads and ipods, computers and games and televisions… and get outside. Reconnect with the elemental energies; fire, earth, air, water and ether. Reconnect with the Earth, her trees and plants and creatures; birds and animals alike. We can learn so much from our animal spirit guides, but we may not be able to hear them over the din of text messages, Youtube videos and Facebook messages.

Sometimes we just need to get out there and breathe. Touch the trees. Tilt our faces up to the sun. Feel the breeze on our skin. Dip our toes in the water. Walk barefoot upon the Earth.

It’s the best medicine there is. For body, mind and spirit.

Mountain ~ Strength

Mountain ~ Strength, from the Earth Magic Oracle Card deck, by Stephen D Farmer

Daily Angel Oracle Card: Mountain ~ Strength, from the Earth Magic Oracle Card deck, by Stephen D Farmer

Mountain ~ Strength: “The massiveness of the mountain in this image – bearing the  blankets of snow as spectacular hues from the sun reflect from its body – evokes a sense of impenetrable and immovable strength and stature. A mountain’s quiet, resolute immensity leaves us in awe and inspires us to reach for greater heights. Yet, it can also pose challenges.

The firm base of the mountain evolves to the narrower crest in its attempt to reach the sky. More daring individuals become enamored by the peak and see it as something to conquer, although it can never be truly conquered. When the mountain feels threatened in some way or simply shrugs its shoulders, the strength exhibited can wreak havoc for all beings caught on its skin.

It makes no sense to deny the strength you have at the cost of allowing yourself to be reactive and subject to external influences far beyond what is healthy for you. Imagine yourself as a mountain of strength, solidly grounded in the Earth, your head held high as if you were touching the sky. Do so without straining, just as the mountain itself does not strain.

The current situation calls for you to be vigilant, but not to the point of fear or paranoia. Be that rock of strength that you are capable fo becoming. The solidness of our resolve will be clearly communicated when you model yourself after the towering immensity of a mountain, impenetrable and inscrutable. Standing steady like a rock is what is called for at this time.”*

Sometimes we can’t make up our minds. Sometimes we make up our minds and other people change them for us; then we end up looking back and wishing that we had stuck to our guns and not changed our minds. Sometimes we don’t know what we want and we feel directionless, drifting.

What do you want to create? It sounds like such a simple question, but yet, it is one of the hardest question for many people to answer. What do you want to create? Can you describe it in detail? Can you feel it? See it? Smell, taste and touch it with you mind? Are you focusing on it daily? Hourly? Moment by moment? When you do focus on it, is it in anticipation as you feel it into being? Or is it doubtfully, knowing somewhere in your being that it’s probably never going to happen… a pipe dream?

It makes a huge difference. How you feel about it. HUGE difference.

Like happening or not happening difference. So it’s good to get that sorted out once and for all.

What do you want?

Are you willing to stand your ground for it? Be solid in your belief that you are worth it? Embrace it wholeheartedly as your birthright? Nothing and no one can stand in your way?

When you are solid in your focus, yet reaching for the stars. When you are planted firmly in the now, fully grounded on the Earth, yet your spirit soars up to the Universe. When you are stable and steady and strong.

Then, as you soar to new heights, your dreams will surround you. Worthy you. Confident you. Beautiful, unlimited, Divine: YOU.

Dragonfly ~ Illusion

Daily Angel Oracle Card: Dragonfly, from the Power Animal Tarot Card deck, by Stephen D Farmer

Dragonfly ~ Illusion: “You know who you really are”

“You are a master of illusion, particularly in the guises you wear for others. This is gift that was born in travails of your childhood, an adaptation that once served you will. These masks do serve a purpose because you can be whoever you need to be in any situation. Yet it can also be easy to fool yourself into thinking that any of these personas are the real you. The truth is that you do not need to rely on these false personas anymore! On occasion they will come in handy, but at this point it is time to let the “you” of who you are show up in all your varied expressions and manifestations.

One of the more popular ruses you run on yourself is pretending that you do not know the truth. In other words, you play dumb, hoping that because others like to feel superior, you can indulge them in this way. Yet inwardly you can be smug and secretly indulge in your own illusion of superiority. Once you acknowledge the truth, they you will know what to do. And by that acknowledgment and acceptance, you accept the truth of who you are.

Additional Associations For This Card: Colourfulness; Mirage; Mystery; Deception.”*

– Stephen D Farmer

One of the biggest illusions we subject ourselves to is seeing ourselves as weak, incapable, victims or unable to create our heart’s desire. We are masters of illusion when it comes to deceiving ourselves into thinking that life happens “to us” rather than is created around us. This is a big step in the ladder of higher consciousness; taking responsibility for how our lives look and knowing that no matter what they look like we likely had a hand in it’s creation. Yes, it is easier to blame others or circumstance. Yes it is easier to feel as if change is not an option. Yet, we have the power to change all that. We just need to have faith that we can.

Dragonfly comes to tell us no matter how much Soul searching we do, and no matter how much confusion or chaos surrounds us; we know who we really are and we are always able to step into our own power. We must simply decide to fearlessly do so. This may be particularly challenging for those of us who like to see our loved ones and those close to us as happy… even at our own expense. Us people pleasers have it a little tougher cuz we have to move forward despite opposition from others who we have pacified in the past by compromising ourselves. Even though they may not welcome the change in us, eventually it will feel so necessary it will be the only path leading us to expansion, light and love.

So who are you… really?

And when are you going to share this authentic YOU with the world?

Shaman, from the Earth Magic Oracle Card deck, by Stephen D Farmer

Daily Angel Oracle Card: Shaman, from the Earth Magic Oracle Card deck, by Stephen D Farmer

Shaman: “Ancient Healing Wisdom.”

“The deep, compassionate eyes of this Native American shaman portray the wisdom of one who has seen ans who knows. He has witnessed visions, spirits, suffering, and joy, and he knows that everything that exists has Spirit’s Intentionality behind it. Able to travel beyond the veil of ordinary reality, the shaman’s primary assignment is to discern and maintain the balance between what his human community takes from the natural world and what it gives back. When this relationship is out of balance, the shaman must do whatever is necessary to restore it. Balance equals healing.

The shaman lives his life in ceremony and treats everything with reverence, including the great mystery of death – and the even greater mystery of Life. He works with his spirit helpers, including his ancestral spirits, to help him in his service to his people and to Earth Mother, providing a liaison between the spiritual and physical worlds.

Charged with relieving suffering as one of his priorities, the shaman does so by first always tending to the spiritual wound – the source of all illness. These healing powers have been passed along over the millennia from the ancient ones, who knew the healing and curative powers of Spirit.”*

– Stephen D Farmer

Everything we need to heal ourselves was within our reach at one point in time. Mother Earth created medicine for us, and it grew close to those who needed it. In fact, the medicinal plants that grow close to the people who need them are much stronger to those people than something that comes from afar. Yet, many do not revere the wisdom of this type of healing, it has become “alternative” or holistic, but in many instances is not taken seriously. Also, we have eradicated or polluted many of the most healing plants from our yards and gardens in order to replace them with “prettier” ones. I spoke of this phenomena a few days ago in my “Dandelion” post.

Shaman work with Mother Earth and her beings, both physical and spiritual in order to bring about healing. Many of them may not be able to read, so may not be taken seriously in Western culture. Yet, they have an understanding of the medicine that was put her for us from the beginning of time. If only we could listen. Shaman see and feel the intimate connection between all that is, the thread of life, the consciousness, the beauty and the power. We would go to them in order for them to assist us to plug in to this Divine light.

The message today is to get outside and commune with nature. Slow down and really use all of your senses to absorb all that it has to offer. Get a book on the local native plants and their healing properties; or even better, go ask them yourself… if you listen patiently, they will tell you. Be sure to thank them. And ask permission if you wish to take some with you on your journey.

Embrace a tree with gratitude for the life giving oxygen it is producing for you, as you take a deep breath. Thank the rain god, Tlaloc, for the rain falling from the sky. Send thanks to the Sun God Ra, for the warmth of the sun. Listen closely and thank the birds for their messages, just for you. There is so much out there that we take for granted, and yet it can heal us; body, mind and spirit.

We just need to unplug from technology overwhelm and plug back into Gaia.
