Isis ~ Protection: “You are loved and protected even through the most difficult of trials. This is a time for healing. You need mothering or to use your mothering energy. Magic is happening!”

“Isis is the daughter of the sky goddess, Nuit, and the earth god, Geb. As the wife of Osiris, she is one of the most enduring symbols of loving motherhood, dedicated wifehood, and feminine protective energy. Isis’s love and devotion to Osiris after his brother Set killed and dismembered him is a central story is the mythology of the ancient Egyptians.

The storm god, Set, became jealous of Osiris and killed him. In his rage, Set dismembered the body, hiding the pieces so that Osiris could not be resurrected. When Isis discovered that her husband had been murdered, her grief was immense – some say her tears triggered the Nile’s annual flood. Not satisfied that her great love would never attain eternal life, Isis traveled the earth looking for the pieces of Osiris. She found him piece by piece. Advised by the god of knowledge, Thoth, she cast a powerful spell, which bought her husband back to life long enough for her to conceive a son, Horus. Osiris retreated back into the underworld, where he ruled from then on.

As a result of her role assisting the newly formed Lord of the Dead, Isis became a protectress of the dead. Many sarcophagi featured her image with mighty outstretched wings extending her energy and protecting the body. As the mother of Horus, she is often depicted breastfeeding him or cradling him lovingly, again symbols of feminine protection and influence.

The cult of Isis spread all over Egypt and extended into Greece, Italy, and surrounding areas. Major temples were constructed in her honour on Philae and as far away as Delos in Greece. Priestesses of Isis were known for their haling skills.

Although the spread of Christianity halted worship of Isis, it is easy to see how she was appropriated by the Christian religion in the form of Mother Mary. The iconic poses of Mary, the mother of Christ, are incredibly similar to images of Isis and Horus.

When you are fearful or in need of protection, call upon this great goddess. Ask for her help when you feel the eyes of judgment on you, when you need some extra armor, or when you feel particularly vulnerable. Allow her wings to surround you and protect you. (*Please note: If you are feeling physically threatened in any way, it is important that you find someone you trust to help you. Living with the real threat of physical violence is unhealthy, and others can help you to put a stop to it.)”

Shadow Side: “Even though Isis used all her skills to find and revive Osiris, she could not keep him alive and with her forever, and he retreated and became the god of the underworld. Sometimes, no matter how much we may try to protect someone, things do not turn out as we wish. You may see a sibling exhibiting what you see as poor or destructive behaviour or a friend acting in wild ways that seem out of character and try to protect that person – only to have your opinion or help rejected. While we may mean well, and even be right, people need to learn life’s lessons on their own. It may well be a karmic situation that is resolving itself or a key life skill that someone is learning while we watch. (In the case of behaviour that is harmful to themselves or others, you should inform someone else you trust to help resolve the situation.)”

Symbols: “Ankh, outstretched wings, knot of Isis (tyet), throne hieroglyphic symbol, roses.”

Invocation: “When you need protection or feel someone in your life could use a little extra too, you can invoke Isis to help. You will need some rose petals, some rose incense on a charcoal, and a dark pink or gold candle.
Take a salt bath or shower to cleanse yourself. Relax. Light the candle and say:

Mother Isis, daughter of the infinite Nuit, daughter of the
earth-rich Geb,
Wife of Osiris, whom you healed and gave life to,
Stretch your wings around me!
I ask for your protection.”

Now light the rose incense. Allow the smoke to rise and say:

As you watch above all, as you nourish your children,
I humbly ask for your love and protection.

Now tell Isis what your needs are. Be truthful and feel all you need to feel.

Know that Isis is compassionate and powerful. Imagine her wrapping her wings around you, giving you love and energy. Say:

I am not afraid. You are with me, Goddess.

Stay in her loving embrace as long as you need to. Take your time.
When you are ready, or when Isis unfolds her wings, give her thanks. Know that she is watching over you and will respond.
Repeat this invocation when you need to.”

Sometimes the world feels like a scary place. So much is going on, so much is beyond our control. We try to live our lives the best we can amongst the chaos. We send prayers, we send love. We try to be of service. We open our hearts and we put ourselves out there, and yet it can feel sometimes that we are so very vulnerable. That we are unprotected. That there is just so much to fear.

When we feel like this we sometimes just need an extra layer of protection. We need to know that we are safe, no matter what happens. In what can feel like perilous times, we want a powerful warrior on our side. Goddess Isis can help us with this, (as can Archangel Michael of course).

See the Goddess as she appears in the image above; totally fearless, always ready and willing to take on anything; particularly what scares you right now. Consider carrying or placing an Ankh beside your bed or under your pillow; one that you have drawn yourself is fine. You can also get an Ankh to wear as a symbol of protection and life.

Know that you are protected and that it is safe to get back out there and do what you have to do, the Goddess by your side. Know that you also have a spark of her divine warrior energy and that you can always summon this powerful energy to get you through challenging or difficult times.

Fearn Alder, from the Celtic Tree Oracle, by Sharlyn Hidalgo, artwork by Jimmy Manton

Daily Angel Oracle Card: Fearn Alder, from the Celtic Tree Oracle, by Sharlyn Hidalgo, artwork by Jimmy Manton

Fearn Alder: “Northern Hemisphere Dates: December 27th-January 23rd. Southern Hemisphere Dates: June 27th – July 23rd.
Totems: “Kingfisher, Raven, Wren, Dragon”
Deities/Guides: “Bran adn Branwen of Welsh Mythology, Merlin”
Letters: F, V and GW”
Class: “Chieftain”
3rd Lunation”

Keywords: “Guidance, prophecy and divination, strength in a dispute or battle, spiritual protection, balance between the masculine and feminine energies.”

“The Fearn Alder initiates in the third lunation and represents guidance and initiative. This tree also represents leadership, power, and strength. If you need backbone in a dispute, this tree offers you strength and resolve as well as protection. Alder holds both male and female powers and shows us how to balance these aspects within us. Alder encourages us to seek the oracle to help us update our intentions and assert our plans. We set these renewed intentions for a new solar year. There is a quality of self-sacrifice for the good of the community, with this tree. The ogham for Alder is Fearn and the letters F, V and GW.”

Fearn Alder In A Reading: “Alder is especially connected to prophecy. Alder reminds you of your bird and animal totems, as well as your guardian spirits and allies, and asks you to listen to their messages. When this tree appears in a reading, reconnect to your own ancestors or spiritual lineages for guidance, information and support. Be alert to synchronicities in your daily life. Look to your dreams and record their wisdom. (If you set this intention they will inform you.) It may also be a time to use your divination tools or consult a trusted friend or psychic. What does your intuition tell you? What does your gut say?

If you are involved in a dispute or conflict, this tree offers you spiritual strength and protection. Alder possesses a strong male energy that offers you backbone and strength. Alder provides a bridge over troubled waters.

When you get Alder, you are asked to address your balance of masculine and feminine energies. What is the best use of these energies? Perhaps you are being overly assertive or aggressive. Or perhaps you are being too passive or dependent upon others right now, and giving away your power. Alder asks you to work from your own inner sense of authority. Trust your feelings, thoughts, and visions. Fearn Alder offers you support as you delve into your own inner knowing.

Alternatively, you may not be listening to others. Is it possible you are being too ruthless and ignoring ethical considerations? Either way, Fearn Alder invites you to return o the middle path and create a more balanced life. You have help and are never alone.”

As Challenger: “You may be too dependent upon either your masculine or feminine role or energy. Rowan asks you to address any imbalances in this area. Remember, you are not confined to any role. You have full choice in how your create your life.

You may be denying access to spiritual messages and guidance. Perhaps you are ignoring the fact that you require help and healing. Check in and see if you are being overly resistant. Help is available, but you must ask for it before your guides can come forward. They need your permission to assist you.

Similarly, you may be unaware of your need for protection, especially within a situation that involves a dispute or controversy. All that is needed is for you to invite your spirit helpers’ protection and guidance, and they will come forward for you.”*

~ By Sharlyn Hidalgo

Fearn Alder comes to us as support, and as a reminder that not only are we much stronger than we give ourselves credit for, we are also never alone. We are being asked to reconnect to a higher collective consciousness. One of strength of each individual coming together to create a brand new whole. Like a strong and self reliant wolf joining a wolf pack; finding our tribe. It is trusting our instincts and intuition and accepting help when we need it. It is also about walking away from those who do not hold our highest good, knowing that the Universe will send along those who truly do.

There is also protection here. If you are feeling vulnerable, separated or alone, know that this is just an illusion; a frame of mind that needs to be released along with any other belief systems that keep you from feeling like you belong. We all belong. When we release judgment, of ourselves and others, we can find peace, harmony and balance within. When we find this within ourselves, we see it in our external world. You are protected; know it is so.

Stand your ground. Ask for assistance when you need it. Take care of yourself without guilt or shame. Expand your social circle; your tribe is looking for you as you seek them. Soul family reunions is imminent. Embrace it.

The Norns

Published September 4, 2017 by Dee ~ Archangel Oracle

The Norns, from the Viking Oracle, by Stacey Demarco, Artwork by Jimmy Manton

Daily Angel Oracle Card: The Norns, from the Viking Oracle, by Stacey Demarco, Artwork by Jimmy Manton

The Norns: “While there may be things that are fated, still, our will and energy can alter them. We all receive gifts from the divine at birth, which we can develop or ignore. Focus and energy must be put towards a task if it is to be successful.”

“The thread of of life shimmers i the dawn.
It is woven by what was;
It is entwined with what is:
And plaited with what will be.
Each has their destiny,
But each too, their will and magic.
Nothing is certain.
All is in flow.”

Yggdrasil, the tree of life that holds the nine worlds within it’s limbs and roots, grows from the Well of Wyrd. Wyrd is the flow and living force of destiny, which nourishes the world tree and all life. Seated under the tree, ensuring the flow of Wyrd, are the three maiden Norns -Urdr (What was)Verdandi (What is), and Skuld (What will be).

These deities weave the destiny of each new baby born. They visit each child and bestow upon them their fate, which they carve in the form of runes into Yggdrasil. While it is tempting to look at the Norns as similar to the Fates in the Greek Pantheon, the Norse did not see fate as unalterable, as the Greeks did. Instead, they saw fate as malleable, subject to the will and energy of the individual and the forces of their environment. So while someone could have a destiny carved for them by the Norns, by channeling their own desires and personal energy, they could change it.

If we turn to mythos, we can see this concept at work: One day, a new baby entered the world to a jarl (Danish chief) and his queen. The Norns traveled to them. The Norns wove and weaved, the silk flying around them, and after a small while, told the mother that her son would be a great warrior, who would attain great glory.

Knowing that such men often died early, the woman begged the Norns thus: “Please, great women, my son is bound to have an early death should he be a warrior If this is his only fate, I am both happy and bereft. Whist warriors keep us safe, their families must suffer, and they must lose their lives! can you not grant him another talent? Can you not soften his destiny?”

“Ah”, said Urdr, “what we give cannot be taken back.”

“But”, said Verdandi, “We are not the only influences. We can carve his destiny upon Yggdrasil, but the waters of Wyrd and the magic of the whole can change.”

“So”, said Skuld, “The will, the wave and the whole shapes his destiny too.”

And so the Norns left the woman and traveled back to the tree of life. They carved the new sons’ destiny into its wood, noticing as always that as they did the shape of the fate began to shimmer and move. As always.”*

Destiny is calling, are you listening? Are you ready and willing to accept this mission? Ready to embark upon the next chapter of your life? Destiny is calling but it is up to you to answer this call. Up to you to decide to take action towards creating something new, to grasp the opportunity, to take a chance with your heart. To step fully onto the path of your Soul.

Free will is a wonderful gift. It allows us to choose in each moment what we wish to create; more of the same or something brand new. Free will allows us to take absolute responsibility for our lives; and free will allows us to create by default if we refuse to take the reigns.

It’s all up to you.

Do you get out of your comfort zone or stay where you are? Do you dream a little bigger and put some effort into getting where you need to be? Do you dream a whole lot bigger and have faith that you possess the resources to get you there?

Or do you assume that other forces are in control and you are merely along for the ride, for better or for worse?

All up to you.

Destiny is calling…

Ehwaz

Published August 15, 2017 by Dee ~ Archangel Oracle

Ehwaz, from the Viking Oracle, by Angela Hartfield, artwork by Jimmy Manton

Daily Angel Oracle Card: Ehwaz, from the Viking Oracle, by Stacey Demarco, artwork by Jimmy Manton

Ehwaz: “Take speedy action. Open yourself to the power of flow. It benefits us to work with the rhythms of the natural world. Equine-assisted therapy may be of comfort to you. Eat seasonally available foods and notice the particular energies of each season. We are not our past.”

“The wind, it works its way
Through my hair, a crown of ink.
I smell its direction.
I feel its sway.
My legs, they hold
To the warmth of fur,
The bellows of breathing.
Together,
Forward,
now.
I am Ehwaz.”

“Ehwaz (pronounced, “ay-waz), is the rune of the horse, and it tells us of the importance of flow, rhythm and the gaining of momentum over time. Good riders adapt their bodies and minds to the rhythm of each of their horse’s gaits: walk, trot, canter and gallop (or, in the case of Icelandic horses, their special gliding ‘tolt). In doing so, they become one with their steed, bringing grace, ease and a deep connection between human and horse.

Ehwaz suggests we bring this same sensitivity to our everyday lives. That, rather than resisting the flow, we adapt to – even enjoy – the rhythm of life as we move with it. For example, we can align with the changing seasons, withdrawing with the introverted nature of winter, and setting forth new plans in the fertile spring. Even the foods available differ from season to season, and scientists agree that eating seasonally is better for the health of our bodies.

Ehwaz is also a rune of the now, not the past nor the future. It reminds us that by being where we are and enjoying the fullness and completeness of this present moment we create a more mindful and enjoyable future.”

Ehwaz as Challenger: “Stop resisting. What is is. What has happened is done. Accept it and move on – wiser for the experience and with a positive outlook.”

Yesterday we were day-dreaming our desires into reality, today we take the action necessary to make it happen in the physical realm. We don’t resist change but go with it. We don’t hold on when we need to move forward because we trust in the Universe and ourselves. In this way we take a hand in creating through action, one small step at a time.

Horses are powerful and intelligent animals. They deserve our respect and we can learn as much from them as they are willing to teach us and we are willing to learn. They possess a beauty and grace that we as humans have always been drawn to. They can be strong and loyal allies if we treat them with reverence. They can be wild and free, fast and playful; and they can be still and silent, aware, watching. Many of my friends talk to their horses as if they were people, and you only need to look that horse in the eye to know they are fully aware if unable to answer out loud! There are medicine horses here too; ones that understand energy, chakras, auras and healing. They are a rare and amazing gift to those who work with them.

Let the energy of the horse drive you forward with all your grace and power. For the highest good of all. Gallop forward boldly towards your dreams.

And so it is

Sol

Published July 21, 2017 by Dee ~ Archangel Oracle

Sol, from the Viking Oracle, by Stacey Demarco, artwork by Jimmy Manton

Daily Angel Oracle Card: Sol, from the Viking Oracle, by Stacey Demarco, artwork by Jimmy Manton

Sol: “Your sense of personal power will increase. Be confident – your situation will improve quickly. Do not procrastinate. Choose love over hate. Do not be distracted by gossip or mockery – these are lower forms of communication. Surround yourself with positive people.”

“Every cell of my being
Reaches up
Like the face of a flower
Turning towards your greatness.
You are the source of all warmth,
The catalyst to my change,
The flow of love to all things,
Golden and beautiful.
I feel filled with now.
I am Sol.”

“Sol is both a goddess and the sun itself. Sol and her brother Mani were born of time (Mundilferi) when the universe was being created. Sol was as golden and beautiful as her brother was silvery and light. At first, Sol was not sure of her role within the new world. But then the gods created times of darkness and times of light, assigning Sol the day and Mani night.

Sol and Mani ride across the sky in horse drawn chariots. Their steeds are named Arvakr (Early Riser) and Alsvior (Swift). Other cultures have imagined the sun as a deity riding across the sky on a chariot, too. For instance, the ancient Greeks saw the sun as Helios and his horses. However, most sun deities are seen as male, which makes the female Sol unusual. Perhaps the Norse peoples saw the sun as particularly rare and beautiful, since their lands were dominated by cold, dark and ice. Also, the sun was life giving, as women were givers of life, so they associated the sun with the feminine.

In some poems, Sol is said to be chased every day by two ravenous wolves, Skoll (Mockery) and Hati (Hate). She manages to outrun them until Ragnarok, when they finally catch up to her and destroy her. This provides and alternative to the mythos of Sol being consumed by the great wolf Fenrir.”*

~ By Stacey Demarco

Again we have the most powerful creation energies, the Sun. And for a change, the Sun as Divine Feminine, which is different energy all together than what we are used to. What significance does this have? Warmth, thoughtful creation and mindful manifestation. Receptivity and fertility. Mindful, thorough and expansive creation through slow and steady action; with an aspect of the things we need coming to us and through us. Healing energy. Nurturing energy.

We can embody these energies and use them to create in our own lives. Knowing that our own Sun energy resides in our Solar Plexus chakra in our navel. When this chakra is energized we experience increased confidence, abundance, and empowerment. We can, quite literally have the ‘Midas Touch’ and accelerated powers of manifestation. Creative expression comes naturally and we are able to really be who we are without compromise.

Stand outside and tilt your face up to the Sun, palms outstretched. Feel it energize you; feel it’s life force. Use this energy to revitalize you and harness it to fuel your passions; allowing your creative juices to flow.

Thurisaz: “Do not get drawn into unnecessary drama. There are many sides to every story, so make sure you research a situation thoroughly before making a decision. Ignorance is no excuse. Choose wisdom and remove the old thorn in your side. Choose the positive flow of enthusiasm, fecundity and passion, rather than aggression, small mindedness and force.”

“I am the hammer of wisdom:
I smash ignorance,
Exploding smallness,
Expanding outwards,
The thorn no longer in my side.
I am Thurisaz”

Thurisaz (pronounced, “thoor-ee-saws” is part of the Elder Futark. Although often referred to as a “thorn,” this rune more accurately represents Thor’s hammer, Mjollnir, and the god himself. Thor, a protective figure, who defended Asgard from the giants, is the hero one calls upon to fight for freedoms and balanced expansion.

The hammer can easily be misconstrued as a dull brute of a weapon, but in this case the hammer is used to smash ignorance and small mindedness, as well as clear away untruth. There is a solidity that Thurisaz requires, an acknowledgment that we have the wisdom and tools we need within us – that we do not always have to look outward for validity.

Thurisaz suggests that courage may be needed to overcome our hesitancy to strive for greater creativity or prosperity. Both self-sabotage and chronic procrastination are challenges for many. Thurisaz gives us the confidence to break through these forms of fear with passion and gladness.”

Thurisaz as Challenger: “Beware of those who hold a smaller vision of life than you do – and of those who may envy your dreams or vision. You may need to undertake more research before you make a key decision, otherwise the result may be quite detrimental to you or your business. Ignorance is no excuse. Do your due diligence. Be aware of being heavy handed or pushing people too hard, as this will only backfire.”

Element: “Earth, Fire”*

~ by Stacey Demarco

Yesterday’s message was a message of truth. Absolute, uncompromising truth. Today’s message is a message about clearing away all obstacles which prevent this pure truth from prevailing in your reality right now.

What needs to be smashed? A limiting belief system perhaps? An old way of being in the world? A victim or lack mentality? Regret, guilt, shame or resentment that is holding you back? Smash all that, Thor is generously offering us Mjollnir to do so… can you visualize it? This is a call to be done with what no longer serves you.

This messages also has an underlying tone of the energy of Kali, the goddess who destroys evil beings and also our fears; ultimately creating the chaos necessary to free us from the ties that bind us or hold us down. When Kali comes you know that the Universe has tried coaxing, nudging and drawing you to where you need to be. But you haven’t been listening. Enter Kali. Things are about to be stirred up. The truth must come out now. Go willingly or weather the storm.

It’s always up to you.
