Daily Angel Oracle Card: Goblins, from The Enchanted Map Oracle Card deck, by Colette Baron-Reid

Goblins: “Fear is an illusion. Choose love today. Forgive yourself and others.”

“Goblins are born when you are wounded and something essential is lost in that experience. From that point on, as you forget your wholeness, they remain with you in the shadows. There, they will remind you of what brought them into being, by mimicking your own voice, tricking you into believing that you are not worthy, victimized, or unlovable. They hold you hostage through low self-worth, self-sabotage, and the feeling that you are lacking what you need.

If Goblins pay you a visit, know that they represent the shadow of your own self, or someone else’s, and that the are leading you into a potentially reactive situation. A Goblins card’s appearance is an opportunity for growth, however, and a signal that you must love yourself. No human is without flaws. The Goblins’ message is that you must release resentments and negative self-talk. Within you is the spark of the Divine. Ask Spirit to help heal you. Miracles can and do happen. Let go of the negativity.

If this card comes to you as challenger: “It is often difficult to deal with someone else’s issues, because they impact your own. No one is perfect, but in this case, you are particularly vulnerable to being manipulated. Do not take this world personally. When the Goblins card arrives as your challenger, it is a sign to step back with detachment. Do not let other people’s “stuff” lead you into reacting from an old wound. Love yourself unconditionally. Set boundaries and your Goblins will fall asleep. Love is the only answer.”*

Goblins, goblins, goblins…. How do we banish those pesky beasts who lurk in the corners of our minds, telling us that we are not good enough, reminding us that last time we tried this, something went wrong. How do we banish them forever, refusing to buy into their fear mongering, their pessimistic attitudes and their focus on that “worst case scenario.” We don’t need Goblins any more!!!

Firstly, coax them out of the corners and get a good look at that sandwich board they are wearing, or the protest sign they are holding. What does it say? Where did that message come from? Was it a childhood trauma? A rejection? A poor choice or past mistake? Tell them to pass it over, you will take care of it from now on.

Take a good look at that sign. What do these words really mean to you? How can you transform the message into something you can work with in the future? Go ahead and tear up that old sign, it’s time for it to go. Tell the Goblin he’s free now too, off with him, good riddance!

Now for the fun part! You get to re-write your sign, and you get to hold it high, yourself. Seriously. Grab a piece of paper, doesn’t have to be big. Write the flip side of that great big fear on it… for example:

I AM worthy of Love

I AM financially independant

I AM successful

I AM healthy and whole

I AM fearless

I AM free

Whatever resonates with YOU. Place it somewhere you can see it, like on your fridge, or on the corner of your computer or your bathroom mirror and read it outloud every time you walk past… even if it is under your breath. If you are shy, place it in your pocket instead. Use this message to banish the Goblins and make new ones as needed.
