Daily Angel Oracle Card: Six of Wands, from the Tarot Of The Hidden Realms, by Julia Jeffrey and Barbara Moore

Six of Wands: “Under the heavy silence of  a dark moon, she makes her way to a clearing in the forest. The open space is small and is contained as if in a living cauldron made of trees – a fitting place, she muses, for an act of transformation. She stands perfectly still, feet firmly on the earth, arms quiet at her sides, eyes closed. She waits until everything within her stops moving, until she wonders if even her heart is still beating. She smiles as she feels is, a tiny spark of starlight in her heart. She wills it to release into her blood, to move slowly into her veins, to grow, each beat taking it further and further through her body. A breeze brushes against her skin and images appear, dark and curving, tracing the flow from heart to finger tips.

When she can stand it no longer, she moves, dancing with the darkness. Partnering with the night, she sees how strong and beautiful her inner light can be. Her power peaks with a flourish of her arms, and in the wake of her elegant fingers are fire flies. And so she continues on through the dark hours, amazed with what she has discovered within herself. Dawn breaks, and she lies on the forest floor, spent and happy. She faced the night of her soul and found a fiery core.”

Divinatory Meaning Of This Card: “Courage is not a lack of fear, it is being afraid and doing something anyway. This card indicates a situation that requires courage. You may doubt that you have what it takes to achieve what you want. The Six of Wands promises that you do have the inner resources needed. If you put yourself firmly in the situation, quiet your mind, and still your heart, then you will find what you need. Once you find it, nurture it and help it grow stronger. Use that energy to reach your goal. This card promises not only that will you be successful, but that you will utterly amaze yourself.”*

Fear holds us back from reaching for our true potential. We can’t see past it; we get ensnared in it’s sticky web of lies and illusions and dwell there in confusion; afraid to move forward lest our worst case scenario presents itself. What if… what if they don’t like me? What if I’m rejected? What if I’m in over my head? What if I feel humiliated? What if it all goes terribly wrong… All ego stuff. None of it based in truth. It is only a projection.

What if we turned the tables on fear? What if we saught it out like a medieval dragon? Went on a quest to confront and ultimately slay it? What if, once we got there, it wasn’t nearly as scary as we thought it would be? And, what if that gave us the courage to do things that we never would have previously even entertained as possible?

What are you afraid of? What holds you back, and who told you that story? How long did you sign up to believe it? Certainly not a lifetime, for that would seem an eternity. What if you decided to meet it head on, and just see what happened? What if you expected to win?

What if you used that magnificent imagination of yours to dream up the most wonderful and miraculous reality? Just turned and walked away from the fear and embraced the New? What would be possible then? Only you can answer that… with your whole heart and Soul… which, by the way are yearning for you to get on board and follow your true Soul path.

Conquer the fear by shining a light on it and deliberately moving through it. What may always have seemed like a brick wall might just turn out simply to be a shadow. You won’t know til you get there. And you won’t know what beauty lies beyond the fear until you experience it, release it and move on.

Namaste

  2. This is so appropriate at the celebration of Pentecost- I spent the morning at church, thinking of that sacred day in which the Holy Spirit first came to us- and I can’t think of a better way to envision that than a fiery core. Coincidentally, the sermon today was also about letting go of doubts and fears. Thank you for this ….
